I currently have three MacBook airs to MacBook Pros and five iPhones in my house. Something is bound to go wrong at some point... So one of my MacBook airs had a screen issue and I took it to these guys to repair. While the price was reasonable they took weeks to repair it. When we got it back it worked for less than 5 hours. When I took it back to them they it for another week or so before they said we broke it and there is nothing they can do. So I am out approx $350 and my son does not have a computer for school. Honestly, my brother recommended the place but said he only takes his phone there and never had any issues. I wish I would have just paid the extra at Apple. At least Apple would have stood behind their repair. $350 for about 3 hours of computer time. Pay the extra. Take your computer to Apple at least it's guaranteed there without the lies and the attitude. I support small business but definitely not this one again. Consumer beware! read more

I dropped my iPhone in Manayunk one day and thought I was gonna have to pay tons to get it fixed. I had actually passed this place several times and thought it was interesting. I went in to see if I could get my phone screen repaired and the guys took one look and said "come back in 30 minutes." The phone was repaired to its original state and at a very reasonable price. I paid $93 total to fix my iPhone 7. The phone works like it's brand new. The guys who work here really know their stuff and are quick with their service. Amazingly professional in a business that leaves room for, shall we say, "less than upstanding" operators. Very organized, very customer friendly, and very skilled. They saved my 2013 MacBook Air from the rubbish heap by offering to start with - you'll never believe this - the least expensive of the available repair options. Scheduled an appointment with this place after reading the reviews and it being close to where I live. I cracked my iPhone screen so needed to get it fixed. I arrived at the shop. Due to Covid 19 I was not allowed in but they saw me out side and immediately came to the door. I handed them my phone (without the case) They gave me a time frame of 45 minutes for repair. I went home and 45 minutes later I returned and it was fixed. I will define toy return to this place for any further repairs I need. Macktechs on Main St in Manayunk was recommended to us by a friend and now we recommend it to all of you. They were knowledgeable, honest, resourceful, considerate, reliable and responsive. Their tech spent as much time as needed during their free diagnostic, and even checked in with online forums with other techs to diagnose the problem with our Nintendo Switch. Eventhough our Switch is fine as a handheld, the broken part we need for connecting to a TV would not be worth the repair cost vs. buying a new one. The gave us recommendations for solutions moving forward to offset the cost of a new unit. We highly recommend! read more

So I went in today to see if they had any iPhone X because my iPhone 8 had been shattered back and front and was struggling the past month trying to find a used phone. Well, I got the iPhone X, in perfect condition, a beautiful/durable teal case, and they unexpectedly bought my old crappy phone from me. All my info and apps were transferred over instantly. The goods: Prices reasonable, quick & efficient work, clearly know what they're doing The bad: They did work on something without giving me a price quote. There seemed to have been some miscommunication between coworkers at the store in which I told one of them to have the other one (who would be handling it) to call me before they did anything. He gave me a call after the fact, and although the price was reasonable, I still had my reasons for wanting to know how much it would cost beforehand. It's unprofessional and inappropriate to to do work without giving a quote, especially when specifically asked, no matter the cost. When i approached the 2 men in the store about the issue, the response was rude and I felt completely talked down to. Their response essentially was "well, we were doing you a favor by doing something out of our norm and this is the cheapest we charge for anything". I reminded them that I did not think they had overcharged me but more that I wanted them to acknowledge their mistake in lack of communication with a customer. They became more and more defensive and unprofessional throughout the conversation. Their response to my concerns about the situation is the reason I am writing this review, not because they made a simple mistake. It's unfortunate because they would have been my new go-to technology fixers if it hadn't been for this uncomfortable experience. read more

A night out drinking, I had my phone in my back pocket & managed to drop it into the toilet. Of course this was right after I took my LifeProof case off - go figure. I live in Manayunk so I've seen this shop quite a few times on Main Street. I took my phone in to see if there was any saving it (mind you it hadn't turned on for 2 days). I watched meticulously as he took my phone apart right in front of me! Within 30 minutes he had my phone up & running again. Thee only guy I know who can take an iPhone completely submerged in toilet water, & restore it back to perfect working order within a few short minutes!!! I didn't even know it was possible. He saved me a few hundred dollars considering my Apple insurance is expired - I would have had to buy a new phone! Overall, very friendly & accommodating. Low prices! Fast service! Highly recommend! Won't be returning here. Asked him to replace an iPhone 6 screen, he took my number and told me he'd call when finished. Never called. ("Sorry, forgot"). When I finally got it back he'd unsuccessfully entered the pass code enough times to disable it, forcing me to have to go into recovery mode and wipe the phone. Beyond angry. Worst part is he could have called to get the swipe pattern to get into it. He just didn't. And he obviously didn't need access to the phone to replace the glass, since he was able to do that.
