I am writing this review to express my dissatisfaction with my experience at the St. Petersburg Sun Dial location. I was waiting for my wife to have her hair done at another salon and decided to take a walk when I came across your establishment. I had some time and thought I could get a clean shave while I waited. I entered as a walk-in and was informed that it would take approximately 15 minutes for a Master Hot Shave. I accepted the offer. Your team was very pleasant, which is not my complaint. However, I was charged $40 plus a tip for a "Master Hot Shave" that did not include the services I had been informed of. Upon receiving the shave, I was surprised to find that the barber had only used a hair trimmer to trim the very minimal hair on my face, followed by a few passes with an electric razor, and then finished with an alcohol wipe down. No hot towel or straight razor was used as advertised. I was particularly disappointed when he removed the cape and declared that he was done. Your website clearly states the services included in the Master Hot Shave, and my appointment reminder confirms that this is what I had booked. I have emailed requesting a refund and I highly recommend that you avoid this establishment. read more

Walked by ManCave for men and decided to stop in and see if they could squeeze me in for a quick cut...Anton took me as a walk in, got me in right away within minutes and did a great job lining me up and giving me light fade. Booked an appointment. Got there, one barber is working on a client. Two employees are setting in the chairs for customers. Don't know if they were barbers, but they were wearing the shirts. I sat on the wooden bench, watching them play on their phones. 20 minutes and still waiting for service and the receptionist literally walks out. I decided to follow her lead. read more

I waited a while to write this because I was hoping the owner would do the right thing, but apparently, he's incapable. Or his employees never contacted him on my issue. Either way, do not come here. Let start with the services. I came for a head shave, face shave, and ear/nose wax. I prepaid (and pre-tipped) when I booked, but I guess that's on me. My barber - started with a B but don't remember the name, it was unusual though - promised me it would end up smooth like a baby's bottom. Don't really like thinking of my head like a baby's butt, but I get it. While he did a decent job on my face, the half-a$$ job on my head was embarrassing. Sure, it was smooth when he was done, provided you didn't wait for the oil or lotion or whatever to dry and I only ran my hand with the grain. However, the second I left and actually starting rubbing my head, there was stubble everywhere. And he didn't even touch behind my ears. I had to redo it when I got home just to make it smooth. The fact that I could do better with a Gillette razor when I can't even see a good portion of my head while doing it tells you everything you need to know. Further, in the course of shaving my head, he actually went back over a couple of spots with a cheap plastic disposable razor. Who does that at a professional grooming salon? This was my third time having someone do this - once was a very expensive and high end french salon in Manhattan and the other was at Machine Shop Barber on Central in Saint Pete. The Manhattan one was, obviously, leaps and bounds better than this, but for those of you local to Saint Pete, Machine Shop was also 1000x better. And just so you don't think that maybe the barber was new - he told me he had been doing this for 20 years in a dozen or more different cities and countries that he rattled off. Even with that experience, I would still probably have given 2 or 3 stars, but when he finished my head and face and was about to let me go, I told him I was supposed to get an ear/nose wax. It was as if he didn't know - not that he forgot, but that he didn't know. He walked over to the wax pot and it was still rock solid. Maybe it was broken, or maybe they just didn't review their appointments and remember to turn it on. In any event, he wasn't able to issue me a refund, so I called later and spoke to a woman (not the receptionist). She also didn't know how to give a refund, so she said she'd call the owner and call me back. No call back. Called again a week later and spoke to the receptionist and got the same story. Still no call back. So, no one in this business is capable of giving a refund - not even a manager, apparently, if there is one since both people said it was the owner they had to call. They won't provide the owner's contact info. I even tried to email. No response. So either my messages were never delivered, or the Owner is just that dishonest and sleazy. Yes, it was only $10, but its kind of the principle. If you sell a service you cannot then deliver, than a refund is in order and I shouldn't have to fight for it. In any event, this is the last business you want to give your money to. There are a lot of other salons and stylists and barbers out there. This one should be crossed off your list. read more

I got a haircut and eyebrow wax from Anton at ManCave last and I was satisfied with his services. My hair was cut just the way I like it and my eyebrows aren't near as pushy. Anton has a great attention-to-detail attitude toward his work and is very personable. I highly recommend his services at Mancave. read more

I went in today and asked if the person who cut my hair was available. When I was told she no longer worked there, I asked did they she know if she's cutting hair somewhere else ( I had given her an excellent review before). I was screamed at, and treated HORRIBLE! If I could leave 0 stars I would. I booked my boyfriend an appointment here since we are new to st Pete and they scheduled him with Benaiah K. I don't know if this guy is new to cutting or just that awful. Never in his life has a barber made him bleed he cut his ear with the clipper and didn't even apologize. He then got him again lower on his neck. At the end of the appointment he had the audacity to ask for a tip. read more

I am trying to find my go-to spot for haircuts in St Pete and had high hopes for this place today. Unfortunately this isn't my place. My experience was not that of a "Full Service Luxury Barber Shop" as the website states. For a $42 haircut I'd expect to be offered a drink as some of the other Yelp reviews have indicated is included. The services on the website as well as when I booked the haircut stated a shampoo is included with all haircuts, which it is not. Also, my sideburns were two VERY different lengths which I had to fix when I got home. This was a budget barber shop experience and should be priced at that level. Will not return. read more

After being in the customer service industry for 30+ years, I have never experienced a more unprofessional customer interaction than I had at the ManCave last month. After paying full cash and tipping, they are now refusing friend's appointments. I vote with my wallet and feet and hope you learn from their mistake. Stay away! read more

I was in need of a haircut and could not go to my regular place, so i walked into the man cave. There was a man told me to come over, said his name was Beniah and that he was my barber, talked a big game but never followed through. I told him what i wanted and right off he became difficult with me. Telling me Not to tell him how to cut my hair, that he was an "professional barber". He started to do the haircut and time after time i would have to stop him from cutting it the wrong way. Over and over i had to re-explain what i wanted. He came back with allot of bad attitude, like i was a problem and i didn't know what i was talking about. A few time after he stopped cutting, he asked is it ok? I ran my hands and fingers through my hair to see and feel how it felt,and right away he said, what are you doing? Like i was a crazy man. After re-explaining myself 3 or more time, i was done!
