I can't stress enough to not use Manchester Moving and Storage. After spending thousands of dollars to take them to court, I received a judgement against them. There's no way for the court to enforce the judgement because they've hidden all their assets, so I get no compensation. The owner has never made an attempt to reach out to me, let alone acknowledge that this happened. The owner is an embarrassment to the Manchester community and all the honest moving companies. read more

THIEVES... Had MM&S move and store my stuff in their "secure" facility. During the 6 weeks it was stored, someone broke into my storage crate and stole everything of value. The movers knew the storage crate had been burglarized but never said a word when they were delivering to my new home. Police report was filed but I can't get a hold of anyone from MM&S to talk about what actions are being taken. read more

This is the third time I have used Manchester Moving and Storage. First time was in 2010 then in 2019 and now in 2021. Had great experience the previous two times but this time it did not go smoothly. I moved from a 3rd floor 3 bedroom apartment to a single family home and it took 7.5 hours. At a rate of $159 an hour. Started with 3 guys and ended having two more added. When we moved into the third floor it took 4-5 hours so not sure why this one was so much more difficult. Owner did come back to fix items that weren't put together on the day of the move. I was disappointed that it required more oversight than previous moves. We hired these guys due to our friends past experience with the company.. She said very professional.. HOWEVER NOT SAME EXPERIENCE.. They got here after 9 when they were supposes to be here at 830.. They charged us for 7 1/2 hours when they worked boyt 6 1/2.. I should've paid more attention... Well they got here and Had NO TOOLS LUCKY WE HAD A DRILL/TOOLS.. What moving and storage company workers dnt bring tools...All the old guys did was complain how heavy things were or having to go to 3rd floor.. All they did was complain how heavy things were.. They weren't using any Hand truck so hello... The old guy came in carrying my 65 inch screen TV by himself putting his dirty paws/fingerprints all over it.. I was concerned the way he was carrying it that he was gna drop it... Well they left , and we realizes some things were missing. WELL THEY DIDNT LOAD IN TRUCK!! I GUESS I SHOULDVE BEEN BABYSITTING THEM A LITTLE BETTER.. My couch flip thing is loose.. I told them and they seemed aggravated them..Oh the movers sent a couple guys to load the last of our stuff the next day bit that shouldn't have been necessary..I call them again asking when they were coming to fix, and they tell me their guy has COVID.. Guess who has COVID NOW?? My husband and I.. we let our guard down and didn't wear masks or ask them to wear any....I'm grateful we had someone to move our stuff but WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN AND WILL MAKE SURE ANY FRIENDA DNT MAKE SAME MISTAKE WE DID. read more

I moved back in late August and thought I would give them a try. They sent three guys, two of which it was their first and second day on the job. They were OK, in terms of getting my stuff out of the house, but you could definitely tell the new guys lacked experience. The worst part of the experience was the aftermath. They broke parts of my desk, which were clearly hanging off, but did not say anything. They also cracked the LCD on one of my TVs and didn't say anything. I noticed the TV about a week later when I went to set it up and noticed the whole screen was smashed and cracked. I tried calling them, but they never returned my phone calls. Be wary of this moving company. They don't own up to their mistakes and lack experience. read more

I used these guys 2x. Once in 2008 and this year in earlier in December. My parents have also used them as well. I called to get a quote late in the day on a Friday and didn't anticipate getting a hold of anyone so I left a msg, assuming that I hear something Monday or Tuesday of the following week. On Sunday I got a return call and I was surprised, I got a quote that was amenable and scheduled my move. I was moving from an apartment to another apartment a few blocks away and was quoted for three hours and that's exactly how long it took. I was happy both times. The crew was easy to deal with and took care with my belongings. A few weeks after I moved I stopped by a friend's placed to drop off some of the boxes and packing supplies I had used in my move. My friend was also using Manchester and it was the same crew of guys who had moved me. The were trucking along packing the truck for her just as they had for me. read more

Beware, do not put faith in the quote given by this company. First, this is not my first experience with MMS. I used them with my previous move 16 years ago with no issues at all. Let me begin by saying that my experience with Jerry started out great. He came to my house to provide an estimate for my move. We went through the entire house including the basement, attic and garage. He was friendly and assured me that he had 15 years experience and usually over estimates the cost of the move so that the customer will not be surprised at the end of the process. He came back with a very competitive quote which is why I went with MMS instead of any of the other companies that quoted my move. The first problem came on the day of my move. I had called the office a week or so before to change my move as I needed to vacate the day before and store my items overnight for the move to the new location at an additional $100 charge which I agreed to. I was told it was no problem. On the day of the move I called just to see what time to expect the crew. I was told I was not on the schedule but, in fact the notes on my file indicated the change. Thank goodness they had a crew that was able to come and pack the truck. The second issue came when the crew arrived. They came in a rental truck not the Manchester Moving and Storage trucks on their website which threw me off a bit. They seemed shocked at the size of the job but, told me "he does this to us all the time"! They were not happy and told me they would try to fit everything into the truck which, surprise, they could not. They had to send for a backup truck with an extra crew member. The next day the crew (different from the previous crew) arrived to the new location an hour and a half later than I was told they would be here. Again, they were surprised at the size of the job and also complained that this happens all the time. At the end of the move the foreman had to wait at least 20-30 minutes to get the total due from the office. When it came I was shocked. I did feel that it would be more but, was expecting probably around 20-30% higher than the quote. To my shock it was DOUBLE what I was quoted by their seasoned salesman!! I feel that I was duped into hiring this company as their quote was so much better than the other four I had gotten. In reality they ended up being more than any other quote I got. I must say, though, that both crews were polite and professional throughout the entire ordeal. read more

We Hired two Workers to pack our Truck from CT to Florida, Actually only one person did most of the work, the other was milking it to add more time to the job. We arrived in Florida and we had hired "Good Fellow" to unload the truck into our Storage. They Damage my Bedroom set, My entertainment center, damage even a cement Lion, They never cover any furniture! How can Mancherster Moving & Storage keep in Business with men who does not care how they load a truck. We took lots of picture from all our damage, I would not trust this company again to load a plastic bag. read more

I used Manchester Moving a month ago and it was the worst moving experience I've ever had. I've moved a lot so that is saying something. First of all, my email confirmation stated that the movers would arrive by 9am. The day of the move, I got a call right around then by the dispatch office stating that I had been scheduled as an "open dispatch" so a crew would arrive when they were finished with another job, most likely around noon. Noon came and went. After several calls and emails, the crew finally showed up at 2:30pm in a U-Haul, not even a company truck which threw me off. At that point, they seemed to be rushing because they dropped so much of my stuff that I lost count. I'm still finding broken items as I continue unpacking. They broke my bed frame, entertainment center, one of my night tables, and countless small glass items. One of the men kept calling me "babe", and kept asking me if I was "okay", which came across to me as very "overprotective boyfriend", which I don't need or want. I was VERY uncomfortable but was hesitant to speak up since I'm a single female that lives alone, and now these guys know where I live. They kept asking if they should bring certain items from the old apartment to the new. I didn't know how to handle this situation since I would assume that by me paying them, they should move everything. So I told them I would move small items myself and ended up having to take several trips of my own to move what they left behind. The dispatch guy, Jerry, was kind enough to give me a small discount, but I still paid much more than I should have considering that they were extremely late, broke a ton of stuff and made me feel uncomfortable being alone with them. Terrible Experience! PODS could not deliver to my location due to my steep driveway. Contact was made with Manchester Moving & Storage. At first the guy on the phone "Steve" was fairly helpful stating that he had access to a smaller 16 foot truck that would work. We booked the job and I was told that I would receive a call to indicate when we could expect to meet the movers at the PODS facility. The day of the move, no call was received. Upon calling Manchester Moving, I was told that the move, which was tentatively scheduled around 11am, would now be at around 1pm due to weather. A short time later, good ol' Steve called back and abruptly told me the move would be at approximately 11am. When I told Steve that it was fine but that I had called and found out that it was going to be at 1pm, he became extremely upset and said "Fine! I'll call back later and you can schedule a time then!". Steve then hung up on me before I could say anything else. I called back, and voiced my concern of his demeanor to which he was still abrupt and extremely rude saying that he would send the truck for around 11am but that they were very busy and if I didn't like it then I should schedule another time. I then met the movers at the PODS facility. Upon their arrival, I noticed that the 16 foot truck was now a gigantic moving truck. I spoke with the driver and stated that this was not what was agreed upon. A call from the driver was placed with....you guessed it, Steve, who told the workers "just try to get up the driveway". While the movers were packing the truck, one of the workers apparently had bad gas which he continued to inform me about and the other workers joked and fled the immediate area when he continued to fart. The gassy mover then approached me and asked if he could use the bathroom after being there for about 10 minutes (apparently he thought I worked for PODS and would let him in). Upon arrival to my new house, the driver attempted to back up the driveway, and whaddayaknow got the rear bumper of the truck got implanted into my driveway. A second attempt ended up scraping the top coat of the driveway clean off as the driver gunned it up the hill and into the cable/power lines attached to the house. Luckily the fart-filled driver reacted to me screaming at him as the wire got stretched around the back of the truck. There was a considerable amount of "standing around" time by the movers which required constant attention. Finally a last scrape to the driveway on the way out just to ensure there was enough damage. Contact was made with another rude manager "Kevin" who challenged me about giving me his name. He said he would talk to his boss about the damage and call me back. ...Let's just say I'm hoping for the best but I'm not holding my breath. For the love of God, do no hire this company unless you want to add even more frustration into the already fun task of moving. read more

I've used Manchester Moving several times and always been happy with their service. I just moved again on Tuesday and they were organized and moved quickly. The men were friendly and professional. They made sure to wrap up fragile things and took care not to damage anything. Each time I've moved there have been different movers and all of them have been great. All, I just want to say that I think these guys were great. I had 2 separate crews for move in and move out and they were both good. My furniture was in storage for over a month with minimal damage. My belongings were padded and stored well. Considering that the furniture moved several times, I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't have more damage to my furniture. The very minor damage that did occur was fixed. My food, condiments in glass containers etc... weren't broken. I thought the guys did a great job with that. Frank was most generous in cleaning up and delivering a spare refrigerator. Give these guys a break! Moving is hard work and I am grateful to them for all of their help. Absolutely terrible. Not only did they loose/forget our appointment, we had to call twice the day of the move. We had to do most of the work before they even showed up, including taking apart the sofas but they refused unless they absolutely had to in oder to get it through the door. Even then they asked for tools. They also charged us more than the original quote and the supervisior said it was all the person who took our reservations because they didn't know what they where doing. They showed up and did the job quickly (bc none of them wanted to be ther or had expected to work), while arguing and swearing at each other the whole time and still charged us for 3 hours for 1.5 hours worth of work. When they finished early I asked them to help put the couches together, and they refused saying that wasn't their job. Then had the nerve to ask, yes ask for a tip. My tip is don't hire this 3rd rate company. And to boot, they would only take cash.... Shady. read more

I used them to move my parents to a new residence. I called on Friday , and they were sble to schedule for the next day ! The crew of 3 arrived on time snd got right to work. They were very courteous and worked quickly. When we arrived at their new home, the crew put everything where it needed to be. I would recommend this company to anyone. Great job ! read more

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! I have a 19 month old son and at the time the 3 guys working didn't have the courtesy to not yell and curse at each other. They were constantly fighting making it extremely uncomfortable and ended up breaking our 800 convertible crib. That just lead to even more screaming and swearing. They said they would replace it and the duck taped it and said its good to go. They also told me to put a claim in with their office. This was in JULY! A crib can not be duck taped. The entire bottom is cracked bc they didn't take it apart. We asked if we should and they said no we are experienced NOTHING will happen to anything! One of the workers most have told me at least 5 times during this process to stop worrying! Well here we are in late September and the person I was working with has been fired and anyone I call all say they will take my number and get back to me. So, please don't use this company. read more
