It took about a month before I got a letter from my insurance company telling me what they would pay. I called the dental office and made a 20 percent down payment before setting up the appointment. On the day of the procedure, I showed up on time after preparing by following the printed instructions I had been given earlier. Someone called me a couple of days before my appointment to make sure I understood. Dental procedures can be scary and produce great anxiety, but this one did not. The staff and Dr.O were so calm and reassuring, my procedure was done before I realized it. Having IV sedation helped that along, of course! Dr. O called me the next day to see how I was and answer questions. So far, so good. If I follow the after care instructions, I'll be able to put this adventure behind me. Recommend!

The questions they asked were all about my past dental experiences and actually about my anxieties about going to the dentist. The only thing was I think i read the review on the other location having massage chairs and tv screens on the ceilings. Maybe the other chairs may have this but the one i was put in twice didn't. Anyways It was easy and I was surprised how fast I was able to get in as a new client for my dental pain and was then able to Schedule my cleaning a week after (that might have been luck though). Anyways the minute I ran in the front desk ladies were so warm, friendly and bright and even offered a koozy right off the bat. I actually have been to previous offices where I've actually switched providers just bc the front desk/ancillary staff were the absolute worst but not here! The dental hygienist here not only as friendly but understanding and so knowledgeable compared to other places! They are also on top of their covid precautions too! I was given an estimate around $600 for my visit in April, only to be hit with a shocking $2,500 bill afterwards which was received in late June. Since July, I've been trying to get answers, and instead I have been met with rudeness, avoidance, and zero accountability from the front office. I repeatedly asked to speak with the doctor and was told he "does not talk on the phone with patients." At my follow up cleaning in September, I confronted him directly about the ongoing billing issues and the dismissive treatment I'd been getting. He told me, "We will get this taken care of," and took every document I brought - the estimate, the bills, phone logs - everything. I finally thought someone was taking this seriously. Instead, nothing changed. A few weeks later, I received the exact same $2,500 bill with no explanation, no update, nothing. When I called again, a staff member offered a payment plan but then told me the amount I could actually afford was not accepted by the doctor - he needed double the monthly payment. When I asked for time to figure things out, communication suddenly stopped. My calls were not returned, my messages were ignored, and even my email received no response. I was calling weekly with no progress. Today, after months of trying to resolve this with the office directly, I found out they sent my bill to collections without notifying me. After everything, this was how they chose to handle it. I have never dealt with such poor communication, lack of follow- through, and disregard for patient's concerns. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this office to anyone.

They told my husband he should go every 3 months (he went even though he had to pay out of pocket for one of the cleanings every year). I had extreme pain in my front tooth because of a possible injury when I was younger. I saw Dr. Thorson, who is absolutely wonderful!! She saw me right away and referred me to an Endodontics practice. The practice that accepted my insurance couldn't get me in for over a month. Dr. Thorson stated to me in front of the dental hygienist that "if I ran out of antibiotics before I got into to see the Midwest Endodontics that all I needed to do is call her up and she would prescribe some more to get me through until I could see them for the root canal." Unfortunately, she went on maternity leave (which I totally understand) BUT the office manager (Danica Wicht) had no back up plan for her. When, I called some dental hygienist that I had absolutely no prior dental relationship with called me and stated to me "that they don't do that". She also kept saying "she wasn't in the room with me" I told her I knew that she wasn't in the room with me. I kindly asked her if she had my chart to look at and she said no. I was very shocked that a medical professional that hadn't been in the room with me (her own words) wouldn't have the chart to rely on. She never asked me my pain level either. Not one time during our phone conversation. Very disturbing as when you look at Total Dental's website they describe themselves as dental anxiety experts with over 40 years of experience. I asked to speak to an office manager and Dr. Courtney Molettiere got on. This woman needs to never me in medicine or dental care. Her bio reads "One of my favorite things about my profession is the chance to build relationships with patients" She is not an experienced Dentists. Read her bio and prior reviews about her. Highly do NOT recommend her. Very immature and never even read my chart before talking to me. You can see from other reviews, that other patients have said that EXACT same thing that I'm saying about Dr. Molettietiere. She was rude, unprofessional, never looked at my chart. Also found out later from the Practice Manager, that she shared information with 3 other people in her office (that was not necessary) and a complete violation of HIPPA. My medical information should only be shared on a need-to-know basis. They should realize that. In addition, I paid out of pocket for X-rays and was not even notified of the costs upfront. This practice has very inexperienced Dentists. I've gone to Dentists across the country my entire life AND never experienced the unprofessionalism of this office including the practice manager who called me from her cell phone in car and didn't even have my chart or information to know what she was referring to. The only thing she could say is she knew everyone in the "Office for 10 years" This should be handled using actual facts like a business NOT a like a friendship. In short, you have TONS of options in Elkhorn. I found another Dental practice within a few hours for my husband and me that honored both our military service and was kind and friendly, verified my insured, gave me upfront costs. Read their website of what they promise and then read the many reviews of patients that have actually visited this horrible dental clinic specifically the Elkhorn, Nebraska clinic. Highly DO NOT recommend this horrible practice!

They twice told me I needed a crown instead of fillings. I got one of the crowns done, and then switched insurance to a very expensive one so on Jan 1st I'd be able to get the other one done. (They were not happy I wanted to wait a month and a half to get a crown). I saw a new dentist in January and he said I just needed a deep filling, and looked over my X-rays and said I never needed the first crown. They upsold me on a laser gum treatment and told me insurance would cover it.... It covered $40? I paid the remaining $150 out of pocket. I also got a bill from them 7 months post service saying insurance didn't cover something. When I looked at my insurance, it was denied for failure to submit the claim in a timely fashion. It took 3 phone calls before I finally said: "it looks like it was denied because it wasn't submitted by your staff on time, is that what you're seeing on your end" and magically the bill disappeared. Great personalities, terrible people, terrible treatment.
