Get out there early! I'm a morning person and wanted to sit poolside with coffee at 9am each morning, so that was my jam. And I was surprised to see just as many people (well, towels) staking their claim of chairs. So again, get there by 10am if you want a good spot for your needs. We hung out at one of the lagoons (east? west?)... can't remember. All I know is that the other lagoon was closed all day. Maybe due to a shortage of life guards or waitstaff, but it did create a lot overflow into the one lagoon. You can order food/drinks at the counter stand or wait to flag down a server (and they come around pretty often). Clean restrooms onsite, a pool shop selling pool needs like swimmies, flip flops, sunscreen, etc. The only thing I ordered was an aperol spritz, and for some reason, the cocktail server brought me a big gulp size (instead of asking me for my pref). Second time staying in Las Vegas this visit we decided to stay here at the Mandalay Bay....heard this spot had one of the best pools in the area. I am not a pool person, but my family is booo. (Just kidding) of course they enjoyed it. I just went for a tan. Anyway the cabana basic whatever that means starts at 500.00 bucks.... They have a lazy river but you have to buy the inner tube. I did see others bring your own and there is air stations for your convenience. This visit we didn't bother with it. Wow, did I seriously pay a crazy nightly price for a premium room at the W specifically so I can use this pool where there is no shade available unless I pay over 400 for premium seats for the day since I have a family of 5? I would think basic amenities like a couple of umbrellas in the free area would be a requirement. If someone needs shade there is 1 row by the beach bar that has shade until noon, or a small section by the regular pool that has a couple trees. Get here early to grab them. Also Wet Deck is closed Tuesday and Wednesday, again very disappointing. Bring your own floats for the lazy river. read more

POOL OF ALL LAS VEGAS POOLS My friend had a medical conference at Mandalay Bay for two days in April. I swam twice here. During those two times I've never been as mesmerized with a Vegas pool like Mandalay Bay Beach. The Wave Pool with its sandy beach decor and man-made wave is unlike other pools at Vegas. You feel as if you are an actual beach when you're at the Wave Pool. I don't know how the Wave Pool is at summer, but I was surprised it wasn't as packed as I expected in April. That was a great thing for me as I could enjoy swimming in the Wave Pool without it cramped with people. The gutter at the side of the Wave Pool makes wave sounds that calm you. I've never felt as soothing when hearing the wave sounds while I swam in the Wave Pool. My second day at Mandalay Bay Beach I floated in the Lazy River. I didn't buy a swimming floats or tubes. The currents though not strong push you along. If I swam more at Mandalay Bay Beach I would have bought a swimming tube for the Lazy River. I went around the Lazy River once. After one loop I went back to the Wave Pool. If you stay at Mandalay Bay or W Las Vegas just to swim at Mandalay Bay Beach it is worth the stay. I think most people stay at Mandalay Bay because of Mandalay Bay Beach. When my friend had the medical conference at Mandalay Bay we stayed at W Las Vegas. I could stay at Mandalay Bay or W Las Vegas for a week just for Mandalay Bay Beach. The Wave Pool at Mandalay Bay Beach feels you are at another city besides Vegas. Had an amazing time last Monday at the Mandalay Bay Beach with my family. There were 12 of us celebrating my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. We rented a cabana right by the beach and loved every thing about it. There was a sofa, table and chairs and lounge chair (both shaded and in sun). Our waitress was friendly and attentive she kept on checking on us and making sure we doing good. The food was ok, your typical pool bar good. This pool area is one of the best visually stunning pools in Las Vegas. The lazy river, wave pool and large pool were all enjoyable. Drink prices were a bit high. Having to buy your own tube for the lazy river was disappointing. Spent the day here recently and had a great time! When we arrived there are no signs pointing to the check in spot for reserved chairs. There are for cabanas, but that isn't the same as the reserved chairs. We did eventually ask and were pointed in the right direction. There are several pools throughout that you can utilize and enjoy including a wave pool and a lazy river. My one complaint was the lazy river has a couple of waterfalls that you go under and the water pressure is so hard it's really not enjoyable. It's a little difficult to avoid them so eventually we got out because it wasn't fun. We got reserved chairs for our visit. The service was great, constantly refilling our water bucket and making sure we had food and drinks. They even had team members come by the and move umbrellas so we were never in the sun, unless we wanted to be. We arrived around 10:30am and the non reserved chairs were moderately full. I think any more than 2 people would not have been able to find spots together. Aka get there early if you want a spot with your friends! The drinks felt pricy but there are 3 shots in a 32oz drink and with that perspective it wasn't as bad. The food was ok, nothing special, but good enough to not feel the need to leave the area to go eat. Took a star off for the lazy river, but other than that we had a great day. read more

Okay I give it 4 stars been here many times for pool parties. Came here for Labor Day weekend for the LSU and USC pool party. It was a good time with my fam and friends!! The only thing I do not like is the lines if you want to buy a drink it was soo slow and unorganized. Otherwise it was a cool time at Mandalay beach. We went on a Monday and it was so crowded. People were just standing around waiting for a seat to clear out. The wave pool was very cold. The hot tub filled up with children very fast. The lazy River was fun just to walk around in. No tube needed. The fries were some of the best I have ever had at the bar and grill. They also had alcoholic dole whip. read more

We were always curious about their lazy river, because we love us a good lazy river. Because we were staying at another casino, we paid for a day pass which is worth it if you're going to stay there for the day. Get there early and you'll have no problem getting a lounge chair. We tried the lazy river and it was small, but still fun and mostly for the kids. It took a while for them to start running the wave machine in the wave pool, but I guess when we hit quorum, we'd get a wave a minute and it was mild, but I guess they don't want people to die, so it was fun. In the morning it was cold, so getting in and out of the water at the end of March was cold, but it did get hotter later on, which was great, but it also meant you were burning because there aren't any umbrellas for the lounge chairs. It being cold also meant the hot tub was filled with children, so there was no way I was getting into that pee soup. It's a fun scene, but in spite of all the amenities, I probably won't come back. There are way too many kids and I'm an adults only type, so this isn't my scene. Nothing wrong with this place, but they need an adults only section to make this place slightly better. read more

Yesterday, our friends rented a cabana at the Mandalay Bay Beach (there were two chairs with a table inside, a settee, a fully stocked refrigerator- water and soft drinks, a TV was on, as well as a trash can; there were two lounge chairs, covered in towels, in front of the cabana- #18). It was our first time here. We had wristbands (in case we wanted to leave but come back). Our hosts were Liz, Tam, and Ever. They were great and they kept checking in on us. Nice people too. Thank You! We ordered food. Not sure where the food comes from, but it was very good. Hubby got the burger with fries- he could not stop raving about it, I got the parmesan chicken sandwich- the flavor was yummy, the bun was nice & buttery, with fries, I think they used peanut oil (we split both), and the stringbean got chicken fingers with fries- the breading was good, it tasted good, were his words (he got full so we finished the rest of it). I'd say that the portions were very good, very generous. With tip, it was over $70 (but we didn't get alcohol, for three full size meals). (There were lots of people bringing food deliveries to guests.) TIP #1: It's hot, in August, in the 100's (the hottest month in Las Vegas), monsoon season started in July, so wear your sandals! One of the kids in our group got a blister on his foot because he forgot to wear his sandals. The music is a mix of pop and rock. Something for mostly everyone. TIP #2: Bring your sunblock, apply it, and re-apply it, every few hours. I tan in five minutes (the boy tans like me, a golden brown) but I still wear it, especially since we were there for several hours. Hubby was burning so he said the next time, he'd bring a cap. I also had my visor and sunglasses on. There were two lagoons, one was east, one was west (there were two hot tubs in each lagoon area), there was the beach area, with sand (I imagine the sand would be very hot), in front of the wave pool, which was split in to two sections, one you could sit, which may be for the younger set and the other, you could not sit (a little underwhelming), and the lazy river, which had two waterfalls (nicknamed "the crazy river", it was just busy with people in their floaties, so we were getting bumped a lot, the morning crowd was a lot nicer, saying, "Sorry" or "Excuse Me." There are height minimum requirements on the right side of the Wave Pool; the left side is where guests can sit in the water. Adults must accompany children in the Lazy River. We saw some band-aids which was not cool, so gross, seriously people? The area around the Lazy River was littered with drink cups or drink cans, but people were also carrying their drinks while inside the Lazy River. There were bathrooms (one stall was out of service in the womens bathroom), there were outdoor showers, there was a restaurant, and there was a bar. We didn't go into the lagoon that was further away, or the left side of the wave pool, and we didn't go the beach area either. We did take a few minutes to take some pictures of the entire area. We saw the lifeguards change frequently and we also saw the porters collecting trash, so this is a well-maintained busy area. About recycling, it's handled by staff at the casino, so the drink containers (cans/bottles/etc.) are recycled, which was good to know. I also saw broken down boxes in a large cart- it was filled. KUDOS for the facility recycling, save our Earth! We had to leave because our son's Open House was last night, so our stringbean was sad. Two water attractions on the week before school, And the boy was sad. We were there for 4.5 hours. It was a lot of fun. read more

My review is specifically for the pool, since we were not staying at the hotel. I came to Las Vegas with my husband, mother-in-law, and 5-year-old son. We had wanted to stay at Mandalay Bay because I read the pool was the best for families with kids, but the nightly rate was a little steep for what we wanted. Instead, we stayed next door at the Luxor for a much more reasonable rate, and we purchased a day bed at Mandalay Bay Beach for one of the days on our vacation! This ended up being the best of both worlds--a cheaper nightly rate, but a great spot at the pool. We purchased (in advance) a weekday Lazy River daybed. I'm sure price and availability depends on which day you are visiting. Our price was $250 for a Tuesday in July. We checked in and were shown to our spot at the lazy river. This was a perfect location. We had a day bed, a lounger, an umbrella, and complementary water that was stocked all day long. There are also a number of trees along the lazy river daybed section, so there was a decent amount of shade, too. Our kid didn't care to check out any of the other pool areas, so I can't speak to the wave pool or the lagoon pools. But the lazy river was great. We ordered some food for lunch (chicken nachos and chicken fingers with fries), and our food was pretty good, too. If you're with your family, this is definitely the pool to spend your time at. read more

I don't know about you, but for me, I would rather prefer being by the beach over the pool any day. So what if you have that yearning, but are in Las Vegas? All the resorts have pools, not a big deal, in the big scheme of things. But Mandalay Bay, has, "The Beach". This is an area with a vast wave pool (no big waves anymore, at least for now. Ask them), that is encompassed by an area with beach sand and lounging chairs. Yes, you are not by the ocean, but this place can make you feel that you are almost there. In this environment, you also have a lazy river. There is also Beach Bar and Grill. It will do the job to feed and wet your insides, so that you can work on your tan, uninterrupted. One good aspect here is that the music is not too loud and deafening. You can actually talk to your neighbor without screaming. The downside to this, at least when we were there was, that their choice of music (or DJ), needs serious reform. And one more....how about investing in a better sound system? read more

I shop my hotels by pools and I have been waiting for years to finally get a reservation here to take advantage of their lazy river and sandy lounge chairs. We were also finally able to bring the kids to Vegas and they loved it here. In the past, staying at another MGM hotel, they required you use their tubes, luckily, here you may bring your own. They do have filling stations as well, and I always come prepared with pool tubes on a vacation. Since I can only travel during school vacation dates, it was absurdly crowded with families, but for me, that was to be expected. So, I knew the pools were going to be obnoxiously crowded with kids and families. If that does bother you, consider off season while people are at school or a different hotel that attracts less kids. For us, we are fine. We loved the lazy river and spent literal hours in it. Unlike being exposed on the strip, you get a nice breeze and it feels twenty degrees cooler, so we spend several afternoons here. The kids were a bit disappointed with the wave pool, but I thought it was still nice they had one. They also have several normal pools and a hot tub, a couple snack areas and bars. They do have cold water at the main bar restaurant where guests can help themselves. This is important, but I still managed to get a bit too much sun and dehydration. There is plenty of seating. We only need one chair since we spend most of the time in the water or at the restaurant. We had lunch here once and a snack, plus a snack from the surf shop. The food is outrageously overpriced. They do have some good options like a huge nacho, a fresh humus plate, pizza egg rolls, chicken taquitos, and good cocktails. Overall, we had the best time here and I would book a room here again for the pool. As far as I can tell, it is the best one on the strip, but if you can find another place that offers lazy rivers, wave pools, and sand, I am open to trying a new spot. read more

Crazy, hot day this past Saturday in Vegas, but the fun time at Mandalay Bay Beach was so fun. Prior to our arrival in Vegas for the Labor Day weekend, I purchased a Beach Day Bed. Was it pricey? 100% yes. However, we we're right in the sand up against the wave pool. Not far from where we were, was the lazy river, and several other pools. The water in the pools was clean, cool, and very refreshing. Perfect for the 108 degree weather. We also ordered lunch and several cocktails during our full day at Mandalay Bay Beach. The food and drinks were great, but the service was even better. Our server was so friendly, and super attentive. Stayed at Delano and went to beach with the kids. Kind of a disappointment that the wave pool isn't as good as other wave pools I been to. The shallow area you are not allowed to hang out in or lay in the water. They make you stand up! And the lifeguards are constantly monitoring what you do and where you go. You can only walk in the shallow to the deeper part. And the lifeguards are literally laying around in the water as they tell you to stand. Also the waves were barely working. And when we asked why they have the excuse that the wave machine was shut off and takes time to warm up. Two hours later still barely any waves. What is the point. The lazy river is fun but very crowded. And the pool area is really nice. Just seems like the main attraction is a let down. read more

The pool area at Mandalay Bay is one of the best in Vegas. There's a wave pool, sand area, lazy river, and regular pools. Note that due to all this, this pool area is a fav amongst families with children. Due to COVID restrictions, I had seen some incredulous YouTube videos of people lining up at 5 AM to get into the pool, people being put on the waiting list and never getting called, etc. But we arrived on a Tuesday (5/4) at 10:45 AM and there wasn't a line at all anywhere. In fact. the whole pool area was on the empty side. But we were driven by fear and the need for shade, so we had booked three lounge chairs and two umbrellas. Lounge chairs are $75 a piece. The umbrellas are $75 a piece. The lounge chairs do not automatically come with an umbrella. Checking in was easy and fast. We didn't need to all show room keys - there's signs saying this is necessary for everyone over 14 yrs old. When you make a reservation, though, the name must match the name of someone with a hotel room reservation, otherwise it will be canceled. TL;DR my two local friends did not need to show room keys. Even with the lounge chairs, you get a cabana host and server. Our host was lovely, bringing us ice buckets with bottles of water multiple times, as well as moving our umbrellas to better block the sun multiple times. Our server was also very friendly and nice. The only thing was that it took a lot of time between ordering the drinks, receiving the drinks, and getting to order again. It wasn't a huge issue for us as it kept us from going overboard with our alcohol consumption. Drinks are expensive. You'll pay $10 for a domestic beer and $15+ for a cocktail. But those are also just common prices in Vegas. All in all, we had a fun and relaxing day chilling poolside in our lounge chairs on the sand in front of the wave pool. Also note that sand gets super hot. We're talking painfully hot. Enclosed shoes will be your friend if you're going to have to walk any amount on the sand. read more

It has been missing a cheap part for weeks apparently and no one will fix it despite the same problems every single day. This pool complex truly is the main reason to book with Mandalay Bay or the Delano. The main attractions are definitely the lazy river and wave pool. While it is located in the Mandalay Bay, guests staying at the Delano also have access to this area. Sometimes the Delano room rates are cheaper than at the Mandalay Bay, so it's not a bad option to stay at Delano and walk over to this pool. Just a warning, the walk from Delano to the pool is about 7-8 minutes and you'll need to walk through the Mandalay Bay casino. Inflation Station/Pool Tubes: For those wondering if you can bring your own pool floaties/pool tubes - YES, you can bring your own to use in the lazy river. You can bring them deflated because they have a FREE inflation station near the lazy river. Save yourself the money and trouble by bringing your own inflatable tubes. Otherwise they were selling tubes for $30 each in the gift shop near the entrance (no rentals). Entrance/Bag Check: At the entrance, simply show your room key card to gain access. Employees will also check your bags. Prohibited items are bluetooth speakers, glass containers, and outside food/drinks (however I saw people bringing in Starbucks so not sure how strict they are about outside food/drinks). Crowds/Atmosphere: The pool opens early at 8 am and it is truly best to go early. During the busy summer months, I imagine this place would be like a zoo. On a summer weekday from 8 - 11 am, the crowds were manageable but thereafter, got much busier. Going early will also make it easier to find a free chair. There are lots and lots of free chairs available but the best chairs in my opinion are the ones right in front of the Beach Grill Restaurant, because those tended to stay shaded from the sun. In terms of the atmosphere, the vibes are very chill and family-friendly. This place is mainly filled with families. The Mandalay Bay in general is a pretty popular choice for people with kids simply because of the pool so this didn't come as a surprise. Pool Sections: - Lazy River: brought some tubes from home and had a good time. One of the days I went, the current didn't start until around 9:30 am. Other days, it started on time. Compared to the MGM lazy river, this one seems to be much cleaner. This is not heated. - Wave Pool: this really isn't too intimidating. I'm sure kids will like it but the waves aren't very strong. You get like one large wave for every 1-2 minutes or so. Just like the lazy river, the waves didn't start on time when the pool area opened at 8 am but on other days it opened on time. There are plenty of lifeguards on duty if you're worried about a safety issue. This is also not heated. Other than the lazy river and wave pool, there is also a normal pool and a spa/hot tub (though this was more lukewarm than warm). Beach Bar and Grill: In terms of purchasing food and drinks, there is a sit down restaurant with a bar and a fast service "to-go" style food stand. Obviously the food and drinks are overpriced but service and portions of food were decent. The drinks were also average. Overall: This is a fun and family-friendly pool complex, however wave pool isn't that exciting, the water can be really cold, and the wave pool/lazy river don't always start on time. We were excited to come here on spring break with the kiddos. Luckily there was a ton of families so it didn't feel weird that we had kids in Vegas. It was definitely cool that you can go to a place like this and it's included in the price of the hotel. My kids are 5,8, and 14 and they all had a lot of fun. The lazy River is small but still fun. There's also a wave pool, which you have to be 48" to go in, and two additional shallow pools. The white chairs are first come first serve and you can order food right from your chair. I would suggest bringing everything on your own because it is not cheap. They have a station to blow up your own innertubes and you can bring footballs, sand toys, etc. Goggles are $35 each, inner tubes are $25 each, and there are red chairs and umbrellas for $75 each. I saw families bringing little shade tents also. They say there's no outside food allowed but they did let us bring in water. For a hotel pool, this is pretty epic. The beach is HUGE. Even as big as it were, it was full. I came on a Sunday in June and we were bumping into people inside the wave pool and there was hardly any empty spots. The good thing was they had plenty of lifeguards watching over the masses and keep them in check somewhat. The waves were fun and I love that the water is cool. It's so hot in Vegas that sometimes, even the water is warm under the unrelenting summer sun, especially when it's chock full of warm bodies. They must be pumping in cold water continuously to keep it that refreshing. The lazy river was short and very crowded. We didn't want to shell out for the tubes but next time, I'll consider bringing my own tube. The water was not as clean or cool as in the wave pool though. It was pretty cloudy and warm. My friend walked on the sand and burnt his feet so keep those sandals on and bring your own tube if you want to do the lazy river. read more

So like some music aficionados, I already went through those days when I got into American Idol and this Concert took place as soon as Adam Lambert, the ultimate Broadway/Rocker didn't win AI but Kris Allen did. My college friends and I decided to splurge ourselves watching Adam Lambert here at Mandalay Bay Beach back in.... His show opener was 'Orianthi' that year. What I didn't appreciate was that he took a freakin' LONG time to finally start the show....I'm talking about more than 45-min of a wait time for the Super Star to walk On stage.... The following year, we followed him to Ontario's Toyota Arena (a tour w/Allison Iraheta, 4th place winner of his AI Season and I Even watched another show of his in Anaheim.....can't recall the venue there in Anaheim anymore....it was at some type of an OC Fair. Thanks for hosting the 'Adam Lambert' show with 'Orianthi,' @Mandalay Bay Beach (was definitely before the deadly incident). We enjoyed ourselves and his music just not The wait time~ Some of Adam Lambert's hit songs were: 'Whatdaya Want From Me,' 'If I Had you,' 'Fever'.... Again the concert venue was great!!!! Aside from this concert, we went back to visit this hotel for other attractions other trips but this was a memorable event since we went a carful ride us. read more

COVID review! We booked the Mandalay Bay specifically because their pool area was rated the best in Las Vegas. The day we arrived, it was 85 degrees. The rest of the days were too cold for the pool. First off, heading to the pool with a mask on isn't exactly ideal but rules are rules. The entire pool area is much more impressive when looking at it online, but overall had it been hot, I might have been more impressed. My friend ordered a simple Malibu & Pineapple. It was $15. Ouch. Welcome to Las Vegas. You can't bring ANY of your own food or drink to the pool. If you want it, you must buy it. But, we did order a cup of water and there was no charge for that. The mask rule was unless you are IN the water, you must have a mask on. There literally was NO one near us. Everyone was at least 20 feet, but they were sticklers to the mask rule. Employees would non stop walk around and tell people tat they had to wear their masks. We even saw a few arguments over this. If you want a fancy chair, you must reserve it. Same with the cabana. Make a reservation. They are NOT cheap either. You can buy a raft for the Lazy River for $25. The pool closed at 5 PM daily and the Hot tub was closed. If you are booking Mandalay Bay specifically for the pool area, you might re-consider doing that once we are no longer in a pandemic. read more

Even though it costs $25 for a pool tube, $15 for a White Claw, and $20 for sunblock, Mandalay Bay Beach is such a good time! COME PREPARED and save a lot of money. You can bring in your own swim tube and food/drink, so I would HIGHLY recommend that! I was limited in my pool choice (still don't know how to swim), but the wave pool and lazy river were beyond fun! The line for the lazy river can get long, but it moves quickly. Get there early if you don't want to wait or have kids that might become impatient. I absolutely loved floating around with my drink in my hand. Even when I got stuck under the waterfall it was an absolute blast! I felt like a kid again! Only thing I disliked was the sand! While I get it is the main feature of a 'beach', the sand was so hot I developed a blister on the ball of my foot for placing it down briefly. Aside from that, Mandalay Bay Beach is simply amazing! read more

There are both so many things to like and not like about their whole beach situation. One thing that I didn't like was constantly being asked to wear a mask when I was actively in the water with my kiddo. I wasn't laying out on a chair or anything. I was literally beyond knee deep in water and some folks there were asking me to wear my mask. Huh!?!? Are you serious?? This is especially not fun when it's over 100-110 degrees out there and you're dying in the heat searching for relief to begin with. Yikes. You don't have to wear a mask when you're sitting at your chair, table, cabana or what have you and you are actively eating or drinking. One of the guys who was monitoring guests and whether or not they were wearing their masks, he came over to me and told me something like, "You've been here for 2 hours already and I haven't once seen you wearing your mask. You couldn't have been eating/drinking this whole time or been in the pool for that long. Wear your mask!" I explained to them that I'd drank 4 souvenir cups worth of my lovely adult concoction and that I'd been in the pool otherwise with my kiddo. Another person in my group defended me and told them that I'd been actively in the pool or consuming food/drink the whole time and that we were well aware of the rules. Geez. I had a blast with my kiddo. They were more than content in one of the lil side pools with their floatie thing. We spent the entire day in there for 3 afternoons straight. I'm glad that I was able to get 3 days of good deals on my cabana. I didn't pay much at all and I heard a few people gasping at the prices they'd paid in comparison to mine. Food and drink service was wonderful. My order came to me quickly, with extra utensils and napkins as requested. I have been to the beach a number of times but this is my first review since the beach has reopened since the covid closure. Food is wrapped, tagged and brought to you so quickly. I was also happy that it was easy to get a hold of a server. I didn't have any problems other than the guy who was all over me for supposedly not wearing my mask. Self serve air stations for the inflation of your tubes and floaties are still available at the front. I'd say you can stop by a local target and pick up one of your own so you don't have to rent theirs but for some people renting at the beach is just that much more convenient. It'll save you good $25 per person though. Also, don't forget to get your own sunscreen. You don't want to pay the hotel's prices. There are 2 drug stores on the strip that I can think of. I'm sure you'll find something sufficient. Bring your own snacks as well. They don't stop you. Just don't bring in any glass or smoking paraphernalia o any kind. You're set. read more

What an amazing pool area. Accidentally sat in the wrong area and I was kindly asked to move. Come to find out, that area was $150 per chair! I moved back one row and it was free! Plenty of free towels, clean restrooms, lots of places to eat and you can even order food and drinks from your numbered chair, by QR Code. Never made it to the "topless optional" pool area called Moorea Beach Club. read more
