I had never gotten a spray tan before, so I was a little bit nervous, but Rachel and the rest of the team made me feel so comfortable. I went with the Airbrush Tan, but they also offer a booth spray tan (I just don't trust myself yet). They send you home with a pamphlet and lots of useful information if you're a newbie like me. They also offer teeth whitening. Pricing is very reasonable. I got 3 Airbrush tanning sessions for only $99, which is much cheaper than I expected. They offer lots of add-ons and great discounts if you refer other guests to Mandalay. You can also book your appointments online which makes it super easy! read more

I've only gotten one spray tan (at another salon), prior to buying three sessions at Mandalay Mist. Three airbrush for $99 is a good deal. Gina sprayed me both times I came in and was very meticulous, checking to make sure my tan was perfect. I loved the color and it even stayed on over a week , which I was not expecting. You can also add on hydration which I did and they spray you with a PH balancing spray. Rapid tan is another add on which significantly reduces the time before you shower. The fade of the color was slow and not obvious which was a huge plus. I look forward to going to Mandalay Mist for another perfect tan. read more

The ladies that work at the front are extremely friendly and make sure you get the best deals and know all of the info about you tan :) This place is state of the art tanning, they have the automatic machine that tans you in under 2 minutes. I have been going to see Rachel at Mandalay Mist for a few years now and I absolutely love it! I have a history of Basel Cell and so I do the airbrush tan (I'm not a booth girl) which comes out perfect every time. Rachel, the owner, and her staff are always friendly and accommodating. Each of them has a different technique but They are all very talented and you will always come out with the perfect tan! I recommend paying the extra $5 (I think) to get the hydration (keeps your skin moisturized). Also the glow powder ($5) is a must. It takes away the tackiness and makes your skin feel smooth and sparkly. Great if you are going out after your tan. They offer others service like teeth whitening. I have done this service too and is a quick and easy 15 minutes to get pearly whites! They have spray booths as well if that is what you prefer. Mandalay has been my go to for airbrush tans for over two years. I have been pleased every single time!!! They know the perfect formula for my skin tone and no one ever knows I've had a spray tan! I'm from Birmingham and spend a lot of time back there. I wanted to have a tan for an event in Birmingham a couple of months ago so I found a place with good ratings. I could not get over the difference!! The Birmingham place looked like a spray tan and did not last near as long!!! I went in for an airbrush today with Denise and asked her about their 15 minute teeth whitening. She explained the process and said she had seen great results. I had done the syringes from my dentist before and was not happy with the two week process and results. Denise did my teeth today and WOW!!! I got much whiter teeth in minutes...not days!!! I have never wrote a review about a place but I feel the need to for this one. So I got a spray tan yesterday, level 2, and when I first came out I had little freckles all over me and the spray dried too fast to blend them all in, but I just told myself they would come off in the shower. So I waited to shower the next morning, (which is today and my homecoming!), and I woke up and I do not look tan in anyway. The only part of my body that looks tan are my hands and feet. I'm very upset and I still have little freckles on my thighs and idk what to do. I would not recommended this place at all. What's the point of getting a tan if you don't actually get tan at all? I purchased a Groupon for 3 mist tans....when I arrived, they said it was only good for a level 1 tan? What?? It does NOT say that on the Groupon!! AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!! Do not even try this place. First off, I bought a groupon for 3 mist tanning sessions. I came in to use my first session a day before I was leaving on a vacation. I should also preface my review that I've used spray tanning many times before this experience and never had issues. I should have known when the young girl working the salon instructed me to use a wash cloth to "blend" the spray when I got out of the bed. I used the booth and got out to find that I had only been sprayed (with what looked like black ink) on my face, chest, hands, back and lower legs. It didn't look right, but I started my "blending" with the wash cloth. The solution started drying before I could get to it all and left black streaks down my legs. I panicked, put on a robe and asked the young girl if this was normal. Her advice was to use the excess spray off the doors of the booth to fill in the areas that were streaked my on legs. It of course didn't work. I attempted to wipe the tan off my skin the baby wipes, but with little success. Of course I'm growing increasingly upset, but trying to maintain my composure. The young girl then explained that the bed has had some "issues". Her next suggestion was to call her boss and get approval to use the air brush to attempt blending this mess. I was appreciative that she was trying to help me, but on the other hand a spray tan can't usually be fixed. After I was airbrushed the young girl stated that there is a part that they have been waiting for for the booth and said someone would be calling me to follow up. Once I got home and removed my clothes to find a complete smeared, streaked mess, I decided I would attempt a shower to get it all off. Thankfully it came off pretty easily, but what a nightmare. It's not like someone painted my nails the wrong color and could repaint them. The last thing anyone wants is a shitty spray tan and I don't think it could have been any worse! I have yet to hear from the salon about getting a refund or even a discussion with the owner about my dissatisfaction with their salon and tanning booth. I cannot say enough about the outstanding customer service at Mandalay Mist! My first experience with Mandalay Mist was before a friends wedding. The owner came to the bridal house and sprayed the entire bridal party the night before the wedding. She was there late into the night and not only did she deliver a beautiful tan to each one of us, she was so wonderful to work with. So when I decided I wanted to get airbrushed for my next event, there was no question where I was going. I had to call last minute to see if I could get on the schedule and even though they were completely booked, the woman who answered the phone agreed to stay after closing to airbrush me. I wish I had asked for her name because she was wonderful. My tan looks amazing and I am so grateful for her going above and beyond for me. Both experiences with Mandalay mist have been outstanding. What an amazing job at Mandalay Mist Spray Tanning. On vacation from PA and was looking to go back with some color. I was very pleased with the color of my spray tan. I read the positive reviews about tanning at Mandalay so I purchased a Groupon for a mani/pedi. I also like to patronize new/small businesses.The mani/pedi took 1.5 hours but I thought Rayme was just being very conscientious. One fingernail had a chip already by the evening of the mani/pedi even though I had shellac (which usually lasts up to 3 weeks). I was going out of town for Thanksgiving the next day so I couldn't go back to the spa and show them the situation. Since I was traveling I obviously wasn't doing gardening or heavy cleaning to chip my fingernails. Also, in less than a week three of my toenails had either no polish or large portions missing which has never happened to me in years of getting pedicures! I took pictures and wrote Rachel, one of the owners of the salon, to explain the situation. She wrote me back promptly offering to have the mani/pedi redone at no charge. This is a very fair offer but this mani/pedi is SO BAD I really don't have another 1.5 hours to spend having a redo.It is now 9 days since this shelac mani/pedi and four toes have no polish and all of my nails are chipped and three have no polish (which I did not pick off even though it is very tempting!). In summary, perhaps the tanning services are great at this spa but think twice about using the nail services. read more

Easy to make online appointment. Got appointment for spa pedicure. Got there with my Groupon and had to choose a polish. Not many choices, and most were lacquer, not regular. After taking off some of the polish, she refused to do the pedicure since I had fungus on one nail. Said it was against the law. Not sure if this is true or not, but had 2 recent pedicures with the fungus at other places with no problem.. Left with messed up pedicure. Have to request Groupon to give a refund due to the fungus. read more
