We have been dining at Mardin House for 30 years. When my wife and I were teenagers, a friend took us there and introduced us to their Mongolian beef and mu shu pork and we have been returning ever since. Tonight I picked up an order for 3 Mongolian beef (my family likes it so much we buy tons for left overs), mu shu pork, orange chicken, and chicken with vegetables. As I sat in the chair waiting, I felt comfort in the fact that this simple restaraunt has remaind exactly the same. I believe the owners have changed but the food and building have not. It is a treasure. When I bring Mandarin home, it is a day of celebration. There is nothing like their Mongolian beef. Very high quality and always consistent. Delicious and fair priced! Best egg rolls in town. Quick and friendly service. Looks a little like a hole in the wall from the outside, but the restaurant is clean and the food is phenomenal. We had asparagus chicken (a special offered because asparagus is in season!!) and broccoli beef. Food came quickly and was piping hot. Yeah, my experience was just about average here. The staff was really nice, and they had my take-out order ready to go before I arrived, but it's the food which left a lot to be desired. I was about to give up thinking there wasn't a good Asian place to eat at and we stopped here today for lunch and it was delicious! I've been going to the Mandarin House for years and I love it. They have a great menu selection, fast cooks, and nice staff. I love their Mongolian Beef, pot stickers, wontons, peppered chicken/pork. Their lo mien is a little low quality, but there's bound to be a dud here or there. They have very decent prices. The downsides? It's $1.00 for a can of soda - no refills. Small parking lot (Shared with Atomic Ale) means it's hard to get a space during busy hours. They don't have a children's menu with makes it a little hard to have a family night out. It's a small joint, so it gets pretty loud in there when it's packed. They're only open a few hours a day (I think it's 11-2, 4-9 on week days and closed sunday) but it's worth it to make time. Great for a quick lunch. Overall, I'm a fan. I suggest it to visitors and friends alike. read more

My husband and I ordered take out from here last night. At first I was a bit nervous about eating here...the outside of the building looked a little dicey. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and offered a table and water while we waited. Very nice hostess and waitresses! The menu was huge and everything sounded tasty, so I needed help on deciding what to order. The waitress recommended the special for the day which was asparagus and your choice of meat...I chose to order that with chicken. It was amazing (and HUGE portions)! My husband order sweet and sour chicken with chicken fried rice. The S&S sauce was super flavorful and had large chunks of fresh veggies in it. The fried rice was great...and we were amazed at the large chucks of chicken that were in it AND the fact that you got to choose which kind of meat you wanted in your fried rice. We also order BBQ pork. It was tender and also flavorful. The prices were very reasonable and well worth what we paid for and the service was super fast. All around, the Mandarin House was a great experience! We will definitely be coming back!!! read more

Just ate dinner here and had a wonderful time! The service was excellent. Probably the best service I've had in the city. The food was good, but the service made it great. I usually don't like orange chicken but their orange chicken is simply fantastic. Next time I'll try the Mongolian Beef as I'm told that is their best dish. Finally decent chinese food in richland. The sauce on the Cashew Chicken was sour... it spoiled at some point and for the first time ever I projectile spat my food out like Gordon Ramsey. It was disgusting. My fiancé's Mongolian Beef had an off taste and smell as well. We kindly offered to pay for the Egg Flower soup (which was good) but we were not going to risk eating the entree. They said we didn't have to pay for the soup, so we left never to return. I'm not one for bad reviews but 2 separate entrees that were bad? I have to say something. I can't believe how many good reviews they have. Maybe we got the only bad batch or you people don't know what good Chinese food is... but this place was NOT GOOD AT ALL. read more

Perfect place for lunch, or take out. Our last visit was a lunch visit; me, my wife, and our two girls. Their lunch price is great and the portion size is enough that we could split a plate between the little ones, allowing us all to eat for less than $25. Their mongolian beef is definitely a highlight and my go to, and the sweet and sour chicken is delicious. The lunch special comes with white or fried rice, an egg roll, and egg drop soup; all of which are great on their own. The staff is super quick and quite friendly. This is a place we'll continue to visit for years to come. read more

Excellent food and service! I went in for lunch and was greeted immediately. The ladies were all very nice and offered us water as soon as we were seated. I ordered the Hot & Sour Soup and beef with mixed vegetables. The soup is some of the best I've ever had! The portions were large and the prices were fair. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is that the fried rice we ordered for another plate was mushy and the plates came out at separate times. Came from out of town so I ate by myself. I was told to sit anywhere I wanted. There were four tables left, two of which looked like they had someone sitting there at one point but were empty. One of them was one of the workers table that she was making something at but wasn't there. Looked at the menu and the only options were family style or by the plate. Didn't really want two full plates but There wasn't an option for any type of special. Also thought it was weird that a soda was $1.25 and refills were $.75. Who charges for refills?!?! No, Not Good. We went a few weeks after our area restaurants had reopened from C-19 lockdown. However, they had not yet opened for dine-in, and only had take-out. Perhaps it's to avoid negative feedback as it's easier to comment on an order when your sitting in the restaurant with the food in front of you vs. opening it at home. We ordered broccoli beef and garlic chicken with a side of spring rolls. It cost nearly 30 bucks. The sauces were the consistency of thin broths, and the flavors were severely lacking. The spring rolls were decent, but there were only 2 small rolls in the serving. Everywhere else, it's 4. The broccoli beef and garlic chicken serving sizes weren't nearly what they should have been either (containers should be full or nearly full) and to make it worse, the meat portions were sparse. The chicken tasted washed out, like it had been boiled, and it appeared to be meat picked from the carcass. That is, it wasn't thigh, breast or drumstick meat. We were very disappointed overall. Someone needs to bring a decent asian food restaurant to the Richland, Kennewick, Pasco area. A little healthy competition would help improve this situation. read more

I love this place. The food is just delicious. My favorite is the Twice Cooked Pork. It is fried up with cabbage and I like it served over the rice. The pork is tender and the sauce is savory and spicy. I love it and cannot find it at other places I like such as Sakuras. The fried shrimp is great too. I've been here a few times. I've had there chow mein and their Mongolian beef dishes. The Mongolian beef is insanely good. But their chow mein was sort of a let down. It didn't seem like it had much flavor. And it was pretty oily, and the same goes for their fried rice. I also remember getting some soups which I was not really a fan of. But overall I would definitely go there again if it was just for the Mongolian beef and some try some other dishes too. read more

It's kinda tricky to find any kind of fried rice dish here in the Tri-Cities that fits what I'm looking for with that dish, but Mandarin House has it. I love their fried shrimp as well and it's a must-have whenever I order. This is easily one of the better Asian/Chinese food establishments in town. read more

They were really good until they sold the place a few years back.The food changed when the owners did.It was not your typical Chinese food for the Tri Cities.It was simple but good.I really think their portions changed and the food became a bit bland and greasy as Jens said.They used to be packed at lunch.I have noticed that business has suffered .Their most popular dish is Mongolian beef it is a bit on the sweet side now. I love Mandarin house. Back in the day (20 years ago) it was the place to go for Mongolian Beef. Then ownership changed and the quality wasn't quite up to par, but recently it seems they've gotten back on track and are as scrumptious as ever. They are very fast (especially at lunch), their hot and sour soup is really really good, the steamed tofu and vegetable dish is good, the Mongolian Beef is still good, the waitstaff is extremely friendly and helpful and nice, and it's a business I really enjoy supporting. read more

It's sad that there is no good Chinese food in Richland (please, please correct me if I'm wrong). To my recollection, there is all of one vegetarian item on the menu and it really isn't all of that good. If you're around Walla Walla anyway, go to Modern Restaurant instead. I was having an Almond Chicken craving and insisted my husband take me here to get my fix. It was our first time going, and it was a nice little place. The girls were friendly and service was pretty fast, which was a plus. But, the food, not so much. The Almond chicken just did not measure up to the Wonderful Tree Cafe Almond Chicken of Moses Lake, and I was disappointed. Mandarin House is a monthly visit for lunch or dinner in my family. I love the Mongolian beef and the Almond Fried Chicken. The egg drop soup isn't as good as it used to be, but the hot & sour is still wonderful. The servers are always friendly. While the restaurant may have changed some over the years, it's still much better than many of the other local Americanized Chinese restaurants and worth the visit. read more

This place was AMAZING!!!! I am from out of state and only came here because the reviews were good and Chinese food sounded yummy. When we saw the building, we just hoped it was one of those "hole in the wall" places that are so amazing. It was! The service was excellent and fast. We ordered and less than 10 minutes later we had our food, hot and delicious. We ordered the Garlic Chicken which was our favorite! It was so good! The flavor was on point! We also ordered the Orange Chicken which was also really good. But I would highly recommend the Garlic Chicken! So so so good! We payed $19 for two of us! Really fair prices. I feel almost obligated to write a review since my wife or I find outselves in this place at least once a week. It is not the best food we have had in Richland, but it is at least reliable. If we did not work near by, I am not sure if we would frequent this restaurant as often as we do. Additionally, if we couldn't walk here, I am not sure if we would come either because the parking lot is a bit small. I always prefer the small town restaurant to the big chain, but I don't think this place can compete with the flavors of a Panda Express. read more
