All of the materials needed were already onsite minus the cost of some wire and a couple of inexpensive light switches. The price quoted was between 1600.00 & 1700.00. When I asked him how long he anticipated such a job might take, he said between two and four hours. I suspect that his high end timeline was probably an overestimate, but even at four hours, that worked out to over 400.00/hr. At two hours, it was twice that. I asked how an electrician could justify that fee and was told he didn't set the fees. I told him I totally understood, paid the service charge and sent him on his was.
