I had a disappointing experience at Mandy's Wash and Fold on Sherman Way. I went in to wash my clothes and was closely monitored by an employee throughout my visit. She asked if I needed help, and when I said no, she continued following me to the change machine. I was able to change $10, but when I tried to get more change, she went into the back room and the machine was suddenly turned off. After I returned to my laundry, the machine was never turned back on. I felt singled out and uncomfortable during my visit. I understand this is a small business, and I am sympathetic. However, my order was delayed a full day due to a credit card issue, and no one contacted me to remedy it. When my clothes did not arrive by the promised 1:00 p.m. delivery time, I called at 7:00 p.m. and was told I would receive a call back within five minutes. No call back occurred. Instead, I received an email at 10:00 p.m. and never received a response to my email reply asking about the delivery time. Once delivered, my clothes were left unattended in a high traffic area despite my notice that no one would be home to accept the delivery on the day they rescheduled the delivery for. No apology or solution was offered. Just a defensive posture and a complaint that my order was too large. I won't return to this business. Terrible customer service and poor communication. Mandy's laundry service in VAN NUYS, CA sent me a fake email with 2 phone numbers that were scam after I signed up on their website. Their professional email said please contact us at a number they listed. The phone number said you won a price and the another phone number hung up each time you called. They were scam numbers. I knew it would be a roller coaster checking out this company. The start was bad....they said they would be there in the morning today and then they said no the following day as I waited from 8am to 11am for a pick up of 7 bags of laundry. It is a laundry mat where they wash the clothes with tons of people that use laundry mats that don't have a place to do wash. Their laundry mat is not in a great part of town. They charge almost $3 a pound for your clothes. I filled out their website for a pick up today...they called and said they are not in the area sorry tomorrow. I could not have my clothes go to a laundry mat. I knew to find a professional linen service that has their own building and just doing their clients. I was blessed for finding a service today for we had guests and had lots of wash our housekeeper could not do. read more

Horrible experience and service, never again! I found Mandy's on Yelp last year sometime and used them four times but my 5th time in April 2022 will absolutely be my last. Things happen, we all know that but how a business handles things is what truly matters. We had them pick up 30lbs in laundry after returning from a spring break vacation - I was thinking this will be so much easier to not do the laundry and use Mandy's to wash/fold. Items were delivered 4 hours late, but not a big deal. When we got home, we glanced down and recognized clothing in the bag that was for sure not ours. We opened it all up to find that the two large bags were a mix of "some" of our clothes and 20+ pieces of a strangers. We were missing at least 25 items of clothing valued at over 2k - much of which was bought new before the trip. So, obviously very concerning. Contacted them - the response was OH MY GOD. Ok...I then spent next four days having to check in on updates, waiting for the 48 customers they left message for to call back. They had no clue at all what happened to our stuff. Not once during our calls and text messages did Oscar ever apologize - he admitted they clearly misplaced our stuff but never ever sorry it happened, sorry it has taken all this time on your part etc. So, the clothes were finally found days later and returned which was a relief. Oscar sends me a voice memo apologizing for the first time and offers me a $50 credit on a future order to win back my business. I wrote back declining saying that I would have expected a refund for that order either the full amount $70 or the $50 he offered not a future credit. I never hear back. I then see that they charged me a second time for the order - I had to text him again. He tells me they will refund. Patience was now spent. Here I was assuming oh they will do the right thing and just credit this order they messed up. Nope. They never issued the refund for the second charge until I had to contact him again yesterday. Then the crazy started - I expressed that I was surprised they were only crediting me for the extra charge. Oscar just couldn't understand the issue - his point was I got my clothes back so basically who cares that they lost them for days, who cares I had to sort through some other ladies' bras and clothing, who cares about the time I had to waste dealing with it. I've included these texts in the pictures. This place is horrible. They were just going to lose my business but since they handled it so terribly, I have to share with other customers so they can make a more informed decision. I've been using this service for nearly 2 years now. At first they were great, however, I've noticed a huge decline in customer service, quality, and care. In the past month alone they have lost 2 pieces of clothing on separate orders - one being quite expensive to replace. When I called them about this all I got was an apology and an offer of $5 off my next order. When I asked them to reimburse me for the missing item I was simply told they would cover part of the cost, but then they would cancel my account. I'd recommend finding another service if you're looking for someone who will handle your clothes with care. read more

I've been using Mandy's Laundry service's for more than a year now, and I can't stretch how much their wash and fold pick up and delivery services have impacted my daily life. Danny is the driver, always nice and respectful, and willing to go the extra mile (literally and figuratively) to provide a good customer experience when picking up the blue bags they provide for the dirty laundry, and delivering everything folded or on hangers the next day. They have an app where you can personalize your profile and give them instructions and preferences of the type of detergent you want, for example. And a rewards system for who are loyal customers. Sometimes not everything goes perfectly and you need to talk to customer service. I've both called and texted with them and they're really nice and try hard to make it up for any mistake. I appreciate small businesses doing their best, and the way I get back precious time I would otherwise need to put into doing laundry is absolutely priceless. read more

Very rude customer service over the phone. The lady did not know that I knew the business owner as she started speaking to me very rude. I spend good money I pay cash and I tip. I will not be going back here. I love supporting black and brown businesses, but I refuse to support miss treatment to either black or brown people . Poor customer service will ruin all businesses. Once upon a time, they were simply the best. I actually have been a customer almost from the start. Oscars personal service was impressive. Over the last year, service has declined. Things lost, misplaced, incompetent customer service. I continued as I insisted on speaking to Oscar who corrected issues. Since Oscar has been gone, from being actively as involved, service has deteriorated. Recently, I got a notification that my credit card needdd updating. Instead of explaining ahead of time, service provider changed and credit card information lost, I simply get a notification for change, get charged without explanation for an order a month ago. When I pointed out concern, no acknowledgement of their oversight. Instead I got a lengthy explanation about how their new service provider lost the credit card information. In this age of spam and fraud, not giving a heads up to customers is a big no no. To add insult, I was offered a $5 credit . So sad to see Oscars business become like this. THIS PLACE IS NOT OPEN UNTIL 11 !!!! I should up to dry two blankets that take 30m max and got there at 10 pm. They already had their doors locked. The people in there working would even come to the door. Eventually one did come and tell me they were closed. I pointed at the time. Fix your hours if your not actually open til 11. I came in on an emergency being my dogs messed up. The closet laundry to me was only open until 10 so I figured I could come here to dry real quick but they were not accommodating at all. I feel bait and switched. Just change your hours. As someone in customer service my whole professional career this is bonkers. Plenty of people inside and I wasn't gonna keep them there after their shift. And you advertise as OPEN, lie detector says, "THATS A LIE!" read more

I started using Mandy's Laundry in May 2021 with weekly and bi-monthly service, and was happy with their services. Since late October, I noticed my bagged laundry was being returned kind of damp. Then, on November 24, I received several items of other people's laundry was bagged with with my own. I immediately texted Oscar, he called me and he had the other laundry picked up right away. I also noticed one of my bath rugs was missing. I again texted Oscar and asked him to contact that customer to see if they received my laundry. He replied that they didn't have extra laundry. **This review is about their wash & fold delivery services. I've never stepped foot in the establishment.** DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES IF YOU WANT TO RISK LOSING SOME OF YOUR CLOTHES IN THE PROCESS. I used their wash & fold delivery services 3 times, the first time being a standalone order to see how things went. I didn't have any issues, so I signed up for bi-weekly wash and fold pick-ups/deliveries. On the 3rd (and final) pickup on 12/17/2021, I left 5 trash bags of dirty laundry out front for pickup, and on 12/18, 2 bags of clean laundry were dropped back off to us. I was out most of that day running errands so I didn't have a chance to go through the bags until Sunday 12/19, but upon looking them over I realized a sizable amount of clothes were missing. The two bags I did receive were almost all black/dark clothing belonging to me, my husband, and my 12 year old, and also a few towels. The clothes I didn't receive were mostly lights/brights/whites-- some belonging to my 12 year old, but the majority were my 3 year old's. I was missing several pairs of her pants/leggings, several pairs of socks and underwear, a few pairs of pajamas tops/bottoms, a few shirts, and a few sweaters/sweatshirts. That's a large chunk of her wardrobe and staple items she wears frequently. I called Mandy's on 12/19 to report the missing items and Oscar asked me to text him the order number, saying he would reach out to the drivers and get back to me. He called back a while later saying he thinks he found the 3 bags of laundry, that the bags weren't properly marked with the order number, and that he was waiting for the driver to return from his West LA route so he could take pics and send them to me to verify they're mine. Oscar never sent the pics, so I texted the next day on 12/20 and said I was still waiting for them and I wanted my clothes delivered to me ASAP. He replied and said the bags belonged to someone in Newbury Park and that he was tracking down all deliveries. He stated my laundry was 46.35 lbs at check-in and 45.60 lbs at check out (which is strange that the weight *was* off, yet only off so little when I had so many items missing). He said he was calling all 34 delivery customers and had only received 10 call backs so far of people stating they hadn't received additional clothes. I sent another text asking more questions so I could try and understand the whole process and where the point of failure may have occurred, and he said the laundry was mixed or tagged wrong by the driver and it takes time and to be patient. With the Christmas holiday coming up, I left it alone and waited for Oscar to reach back out to me. By Wed 12/29 I still hadn't heard anything, so I texted and asked what's going on with my stuff. He called me a few minutes later and said there were 3 bags of laundry on a West LA van and that he's waiting to receive them so he could take pictures to send and see if they're mine (mind you, this is the same story he told me the week before). I told him he needed to hurry up and send me the pictures because I wanted my clothes back (now being 10 days since I first reported the issue). I then get a text 2 hours later; no pictures or mention of the bags on the West LA route he kept bringing up. He said he'd just spoken to the last customer of the 34 he contacted and no one received additional clothes, he reiterated the check in and check out weight of my laundry and stated a bag of laundry averages 8 pounds each, and that they've misplaced laundry before but never lost and "so sorry for the inconvenience." So apparently because they say they've never lost laundry (but yet admit to having misplaced it before), that means they couldn't have lost my laundry? Mandy's failed to do their job correctly, and because of it I now have to replace hundreds of dollars in clothes for my kids. It's the holiday season and the absolute LAST thing I want to be dealing with is chasing down some laundry, yet here I am. If you still want to gamble with their services, don't be surprised when your stuff gets misplaced and lost, too. 1/13/22 UPDATE 10 days after I posted my review, and now 26 days since this whole debacle started, I pull up to my house and you know what I see? MY MUTHA**CKIN MISSING LAUNDRY. 9.4 lbs to be exact. So, 6 days after Oscar decided to hop on my review and argue about how they didn't lose my laundry, this bag suddenly appears proving they DID lose my laundry. No note, no text, no phone call admitting or apologizing for their mistake. This has been the WORST experience, and I'm telling you to save yourself the headache and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. They WILL lose your laundry, string you along with excuses, tell you they didn't lose you laundry, thereby forcing you to have to pay hundreds to replace the lost laundry, and then suddenly drop off the missing laundry without notice or apology. This company completely ruined my new bed sheets and the company has since refused to accept responsibility. My sheets have not been washed or pressed anywhere else and were in perfect condition before sending them to this place. The owner said he reviewed the cameras and that a washer and dryer could not have caused the rips in the sheets, however that's not a sufficient explanation. The owner offered to refund the cost of cleaning but that doesn't even put a dent into the cost of replacing these sheets which are also back ordered by a month. Not only are there holes and rips all over, there are bleach stains everywhere. There is no way this damage came from anywhere but the cleaners and I do not recommend anyone to use them at all. read more

Sadly I had a problem. The actual laundering of the clothes is good/ folding & sorting....however several times a "mix-up"....of clothes (or some items lost) has happened. Or overpricing occurs. How do these things happen?? It's always best if one feels they can "count on" a laundry service.... to do the right thing. Absolutely saved us in the worst circumstances! My friend's home burned down (like obliterated) in Hollywood. Some of the clothing was mayyybe salvageable, but stunk like smoke/water from the firehoses, and the insulation from the walls that fell down everywhere. We bought over 200 lbs of laundry to Mandy's and Oscar helped us out. This laundry required deep cleaning... not only did they complete it in under 24 hours, but they also only charged a regular fluff & fold fee as a kindness to my friend who was down on her luck. In the midst of dealing with insurance claims, finding a new apartment, furnishing everything from scratch, and the stress of losing her home, having her laundry taken care of was SUCH A GIFT! He sent over videos and information letting me know how they do their cleaning and it definitely shows the quality in the clothes. He even followed up and made sure I was taken care of. HORRIBLE. Please read the 1-star reviews. I'm very displeased with the service. Oscar is one of the most disrespectful and unprofessional owners I've ever met. Even the way he responds to past customers on YELP is disrespectful. I messaged through the app to inform them that it's not accepting payment. I also called multiple times. Nobody responded to me. When I got home my clothes were not there despite it showing DELIVERED on the app, along with a photo of my clothes. Apparently, while I was at work, Oscar dispatched a delivery driver TO COME BACK TO MY HOUSE AND PICK THE CLOTHES BACK UP. I called and spoke with Oscar, who then said the app works and it's my fault because I don't have money. Oscar began yelling that I don't have sufficient funds. Not only was that untrue, it was extremely disrespectful. Oscar claimed he processes 200-800 orders and "never" has a problem. The Yelp reviews prove otherwise. He should also maybe process LESS orders as he clearly does not have the bandwidth and level of professionalism to deliver to customer satisfaction. He then abruptly ended the conversation by saying he'll call me tomorrow WITH MY BANK ON THREE WAY TO TELL ME THAT I DON'T HAVE MONEY. Now why on earth would I allow that from a laundromat? I hung up the phone and spoke with Jackie the next day. Come to find out, THEY DON'T ACTUALLY OWN AND OPERATE THEIR APP AND ACTUALLY HAD AN IT ISSUE. I wish I could give zero stars to this place is not only unreliable service but also financially do not give them your laundry they ruined certain expensive pieces of mine. They over charged my credit without authorization more then six charges and they created a huge problem with my bank. When I reached out to them they made up all the stories saying they never charged for certain services that were done six months ago and had no shame trying to ask me for more personal information in 20 years I never had any issues with my bank and they kept sending me free services text saying they would give me free services. But they are not reliable I do not recommend and I wouldn't pay them with Credit card if you use them pay cash as they will try to do this I talked to another person and they said they also had the same problem. The washing machine was down for four weeks due to supply chain issues or just a screwed up home warranty repair establishment ( more likely ). Found these guys, loaded the app, filled out the question and put the dirty laundry out and the next day came back clean and folded. I wanted to use their pick up/drop off service for laundry. I talked to them on the phone and it was all set. I EVEN GAVE THEM MY CREDIT CARD NUMBER. They said someone would pick up in 15 minutes. But 15 minutes later someone called and said they don't service my area. On the phone they had told me specifically that they service all of my city. They refused to come, and I was left with nowhere to send my laundry. It was too late in the day to start over. I am puzzled and disappointed by this sudden reversal.
