The very sweet owner Erin helps manage all inquiries personally, and is clearly a knowledgable, passionate business owner who cares about her staff and customers alike. From the start, she was a delight to work with, very communicative and attentive to her brides' wants and needs. Megan and Kristin were our hair and makeup artists for our June 2016 Vineyard wedding, and both were lovely, easy to work with and talk to but also really talented in their craft (and pretty efficient too- I felt like our time in the chair was no time at all). During my trial, they 'got' just what I was going for, and did a great job of both taking my preferences into account plus making helpful suggestions and tweaks that I wouldn't have thought of on my own, and were happy to play around until things were just right. On the day of, they arrived at our location with their gear, and put us all at ease immediately. Myself, my mom, and bridesmaids all looked (and felt) amazing, and the entire process went so smoothly, which is exactly what you want on your wedding day. I'd recommend Artworx without hesitation!

We paid in full in advance as a discount was offered if we did so. After our cancellation, she said she was keeping the initial $200 deposit but refunding the rest (honestly she should refund the total as it's beyond our control but whatever). After promising a refund, she has gone radio silent, no replies to our many follow up requests asking where the refund is. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS FOR ANYTHING. There are plenty of good small local businesses that you can support, ones that respect their customers and care about their own reputation enough to provide good service and do the right thing (they should be refunding us in FULL at this point but we've gotten nothing). They essentially stole $700 from us, and throughout the process her communication was abysmal (like pulling teeth getting her to respond to a simple email or voicemail). Update: now she's playing the "everyone's hurting" card saying she was traveling (I don't care) and that she needs to calculate our refund (it's a simple calculation) and threatening to keep additional previously refundable funds.

I felt pressured to book the date and after getting home I realized I didn't like my makeup. When I asked to schedule another trial I was told there would be a cost, which I didn't understand because I'd already paid for my first trial and services on the day of. I had to push for a trial too - it was recommended to me to wait until the day of. As a bride, you want to know exactly how you're going to look in advance of your wedding day - at least I do. After lots of back and forth I didn't feel as though my feedback was being heard so I decided to go elsewhere. When I asked for my money back (a significant amount that was for my makeup on the day of) I was told no and that this was a deposit I wouldn't get back. I felt taken advantage of and unheard. I never received a contract, which I should have asked for. Unfortunately this situation was not pleasant and if you consider working with Kim I would urge you to get a contract into place immediately before paying for any services.
