I have been to The Keep three times so this would have been my fourth time. My hair looked great, the style, the cut, the conversation with my stylist, great experience. And then 3 weeks ago this happened- The front desk called me to see if I would switch my appointment, i quickly checked and saw that I could. And then today - unfortunately , when I came in apparently my stylist had decided that she didn't want to work at The Keep. When I asked "what does this mean to me and my appointment, I was told that there were no openings and that there were plenty of other salons. She also told me that I ( the customer) was adding to her frustration. I did say that I had every right to be upset. i know she was upset and I'm sorry that it happened at all, the problem is I didn't do anything wrong. she did give me an appointment for after the holidays. Well I would love to write an awesome review of this place however I tried and tried to get an appointment without and success. My fist attempt was by phone but the recording said this # is no longer in service. So I took a walk since I only live a mile away and they were clearly open. The guy took my name and number and said someone would call me to make an appointment. I guess he did not know how. No one called so I let some tie go by and went back agin and this time the computer was not working. OK So the next day I called twice and left message to please call me.. It should not be this hard to make a hair appointment. The salon had recently been renovated and looked very inviting and I was ready to make a change. Guess not here. I visited The Keep for the first time on Friday and loved it! My whole experience was great. I had called Thursday and left a voicemail and received a call back from Ryan shortly after. He was hilarious and I knew then I made the right call! He was able to squeeze me in on Friday morning with Sebastian. I arrived a little early and was greeted by the very sweet Taylor who kept me company looking at product while I waited. Sebastian is super personable and I trusted him completely - he really knows his stuff. He dry trimmed my funky dry ends then lightened me up with balayage highlights, transitioning from foils, while Taylor did my rinses and styling. I also got to meet my phone buddy Ryan :) Several people came and went while I was in the chair and you can tell that they have a great rapport with their regular clientele. Emily is amazing and the salon is beautiful. BUT, I hired them for my wedding and for months they told me they would be available the whole day for us and they could come at any time we wanted. Then 2 week before the wedding I was told they booked another wedding early in the morning before mine. They were hours late because of this other wedding and my hair came out terrible. They really put us behind and everything else became a rush. It was just so disappointing because we had trusted that they would be there for us as promised. A year ago I really wanted to switch it up and do something with my hair but wasn't quite sure what to do. Having black hair that was largely untouched by products I was terrified to bleach it to get some color in it. I ended up at The Keep Salon and we decided to put some red in it.. which meant bleaching. Sebastian and Ryan completely calmed my nerves about bleaching my hair and assured me it was going to be amazing. And they were right. I've never been to a salon where they invest so much time into each client to make sure they're getting the best experience. Yesterday I went back to get a different color put in my hair and brought my friend with me. I was shocked at how accommodating they were for my friend who brought her baby with us and was just there to watch. She fell as in love with them as I am and booked an appointment right on the spot after seeing the process and how my hair ended up. Every client that was there during my time went out of their way to give the boys a hug and a big thank you. I can't say enough about the atmosphere and the passion you feel the second you walk in the door. Polite, friendly, accommodating (I was even a few minutes late and felt awful and they assured me it was not a big deal) and perfection. I hope to be back within the next month or so for a new color. Get your appointment now because they're always booked with repeat clients because once you go, you want to come back immediately and see what else they have up their sleeves. I almost don't want to let y'all in on one of Falmouth's best kept secrets because Sebastian, Ryan, and their salon, The Keep is already so booked! But they really deserve the kudos and I'm so thankful to have discovered them. When I first moved to Falmouth 4+ years ago, I was sent to a local salon where the owner/stylist combed through my VERY naturally curly hair, while dry, with one of those little black combs frequently seen at elementary school photoshoots (I'm dead serious. And if you have curly hair you know my pain.). Let's just say I never went back... Thankfully, before too many more disasters, I discovered the very chic, professional, and beautiful salon owned and run by Sebastian and Ryan, and I've never been happier with my hair! Ryan is patient and delightful to work with. He gives me a Keratin treatment each June before the East Coast humidity has a chance to make my hair a frizzy mess, and I can't sing Sebastian's expert coloring techniques loud enough. I'm very picky and love a deep chocolate brown without any hint of brass. Sebastian gets it right every. single. time. and I leave feeling like a million bucks. Besides being consummate professionals, both Ryan and Sebastian take the time to listen to and get to know their clients. I also love the products they carry, in particular the L'Oreal shampoos for Keratin treated hair and everything Bumble and Bumble. Of all the wedding vendors and people I worked with to plan and execute this wedding, Ryan was THE double B Best. Seriously. I only had a general idea of what I wanted for my hair, but he took that as inspiration and ran with it. During my trial he invited my bridesmaids and welcomed their feedback--it was important to him that I was happy and supported, not just doing what he wanted. He was just so much fun to be around!! His whole team is nothing but talent. All of my bridesmaids had their hair done and we ALL looked stunning. I live in Boston but I make the drive back to The Keep for my hair needs because it's WORTH IT. This is by far the best hair salon I have ever been. I first came to The Keep a year ago with an absolute mess of hair. After having my son, I was the queen of quick fixes. I used cheap dye and cut my hair with sewing scissors. The Keep came highly recommended so I gave it a shot. I was SO nervous because of how very nice it is and how embaressing my hair was. However, immediately upon entering I knew I was part of something special. They were so welcoming that I felt like I was with old friends. They understood exactly what I wanted and despite the mess they were presented with I left feeling like a whole new person witg exactly the gair Inhad dreamed of. They not only restored my hair, they restored my confidence. They really are the best of the best at what they do. The Keep did my hair for my wedding and I loved every moment I spent with Ryan and his team. From my first email, to the trial to the day of he made the day of so enjoyable and did a amazing job on myself, my whole bridal party and even had a member of his team go to my families house to do my Aunts, cousins and Grandmothers hair. Him and his team were so professional and fun to be around. He also came with me to the venue when we were done to make sure my veil for my pictures and the ceremony were all set along with touching everyone up when we hadn't even discussed that (he just offered and jumped in his car!). He kept me calm and laughing the whole time and quite frankly I would have invited him to stay at the wedding! This is all on top of the fact that my hair and everyone's else looked exactly as I wanted and stayed perfectly in tact throughout the whole night. I could not give him a higher recommendation based on his skill, reasonable prices, laid back demeanor and true devotion to wanting me to be happy and feel great on my wedding day up until the moment I walked down the aisle.
