I've probably been here like 5 times now. It's the only place to get Hong Kong style desserts around here. Especially if you're a durian lover (hi it's me) this is a go to for durian desserts. I love both the flavoring of the soups I just wish they defrosted things better. Sometimes it still be tasting frozen and crunchy . They're not quite consistent with the quality of they're products yet but I know they're still going through growing pains being that they're still quite new so I just hope they get it right. I recommend all the durian desserts except the pancakes. Skip those in any flavor. Came here on a Sunday night, busy but waited just a few minutes and we were able to be seated. We have been to other Mango Mangos from other states: NY, NJ, and Philly. We were thrilled when we heard they were opening one here. We ordered: Combo A- Comes with 2 dessert soups and Mango Crepe. Ordered an A4 dessert soup after the insistence of my son. 2 of the Dessert soups came with Mango Ice Cream... we didn't taste the Mango flavor. The Mango Crepe cake was dry, not as airy and light as it should have been. Again, didn't taste much Mango. The 3 stars is for the instagram worthy photos you can take and for the consistency of using the sweet Champagne Mangos. We were disappointed that they don't serve Bing Soo, which is a staple at all other Mango Mango locations and a must order for us. The serving sizes are smaller than other state locations as well. I've been here a handful of times now since grand opening in the span of 10 days. Each time I come, I try to get something new to try. Overall everything is pretty good, except the raspberry cake, earl grey chestnut honey cake, and rice balls in the dessert soup are probably my least favorite. The cakes have layers where either one or multiple layers have a weird or dry consistency. The rice balls had more of a tteokboki texture than a soft mochi one. Like what majority of the review says, the service needs a ton of work. The place isn't even that big, with what I see at least 4 people working between the front and counter but it takes well over 25 minutes just to get a slice of cake that is already pre made. It seems as though the waitresses are inexperienced as they look lost or confused a lot of the times. Went there twice during memorial day weekend. Desserts and drinks were phenomenal both times, not too sweet, but the reason why i give it two stars was because of the service. Saturday was super busy, about a 40 minute wait for a table which we expected but we were originally heading to the back to place our order for take out but i guess since there was so much foot traffic in the place one of the workers shoo-ed us back to the front and told us to just write our names onto the notebook... which we were confused but did as we were told and just ended up waiting. Had to flag down workers to place our order, then flag them down again for utensils, and another time to make sure they didnt forget a drink in our order that came out about 15 minutes after everything else. Monday came back right at opening time and it was not busy at all. A male server dropped a water cup all over my boyfriends mom, and other female servers apologized and ended up cleaning the mess for him, mvp co-workers... but no other sounds from the original server. Didnt give us new dry napkins, since the water them wet. No discount or comps made by the business for spilling the water all over my boyfriend's mom... my friend and I both are big fans of mangoes. so to go to a dessert cafe with every mango in every item on the menu was perfect for refreshing dessert on a hot summer day. we got the mango pancakes and one of the dessert bowls with mango, mango ice cream, mango snow and rice balls in it. they were both really really good, the mangoes were perfectly sweet and the rice balls were a good level of chew. the pancakes were also so light and fluffy, like really soft whipped cream and mango filling wrapped in a light crepe roll. The only downside was that the portions are pretty small for what you pay. But it was still fun to try since it's different from other dessert cafes I've been to! We came here on grand opening and we were excited as we no longer have to go all the way to ny to get mango mango. They only take dine in right now and no take outs so the wait was around 45 minutes for a table of 4. It took a while to get our orders in as the workers did not check up on us to take our order. The desserts also took a while to get to us but we did not get too annoyed because it was kind of busy in there at that time. My favorite was the durian pancake; it is filled with real durian and whipped cream and was good. The A2 was all right, as well as the A3. Since they have the promotion going on for the plastic cup, we realized we didn't hit the amount needed to get it, so we asked after receiving the check if we could order one more item just to get it. The server who was a young girl replied almost instantly saying "no it's too late" and that they can't do that in a rude tone. We asked for the manager immediately after that and I didn't appreciate the lack of professionalism of the server speaking in mandarin to the manager, as all four of us at the table could understand everything. Long story short, we received the cup, but it was never about the cup; we asked nicely and it would have only profited them to be honest. They need to hire more experienced workers who know how to give at least decent customer service. I understand it would be overwhelming to work in high volume, however, we were patient and nice, as were the rest of the customers around us. LOVED the desserts here! For eat in, as opposed to walking up to counter to order we were seated and they took our orders and had us pay from our seats. I got the mango sago with lychee jelly and a waffle with strawberry Nutella and mango ice cream. The mango sago was really refreshing and the waffle had a nice firmness to it (no flimsy waffles here!) and wasn't too sweet. The pricing here is fair too compared to some similar dessert places I've tried in Chinatown or Allston which charge closer to $11 for sweet pudding. This could be a biased opinion because reviews are based personal experience. I had lived in the NY Metropolitan Area for more than a decade, so I have experienced a lot of dessert places over the years. I still do visit Queens and Manhattan frequently, so the taste of their dessert do not stand out to me. I was there during the soft opening days; extremely understaffed in the kitchen but too many service in the front. Personally it was 1 hour standing wait time + 45 mins sitting wait time, under 10 min eating time. Understandable but can't comprehend why it feels like 1 person in the kitchen, 4 people at the front. It's not like they were constantly refilling water and tea(I didn't get offered free tea - i don't think there is any), so no idea what the deal is. Food: Personal opinion is average, could see some improvement. Although I say that but I can't specifically say what needed to be done. Service: I didn't get much but staff appear to be very nice. One thing I have to mention is that please do not clean the table with people seated, that's somewhat disgusting in my opinion. clean before seating guests. Place: Location convenient, street parking only, could be a great place for dessert after having a meal nearby. Overall inside seems to be clean. Would I go again? Very possible, but would it be something I am excited about, probably not.
