Great bang for your buck! Food is fresh too. Hubby did a meal with rice, beans, mac n cheese and chicken. It was delicious, very flavorful. I did the turkey sandwich, which was super fresh, just needed pickles, which I added when home. I look forward to coming back. The portion sizes are huge! The place is cute, small but clean as well. Hands down the absolute best potato ball I have ever had. This is not your Publix potato ball, and you have never had filling as good as Coco's. It's five dollars and worth every penny it's the size of a softball. The potatoes are late and airy with enough weight to melt in your mouth and satisfy you. The beef filling is so savory and juicy and it's got a tan of sweetness, maybe from peppers or the onions. I was an absolute heaven. I went there two weeks in a row. I also got a Cuban this time and while it was delicious, it was disappointing When I ate the first half. I was excited because there was so much pork on it, and the flavor was again top-notch. But the next day when I went to eat the other half I realize where the first half had so much pork because 90% of the pork was on one side of the sandwich. . I didn't even think to take a picture of the sandwich. Really good quality Cuban though next time, I'll just ask them to make sure that the meat is spread across the whole sandwich. The place was nice and clean and the people who worked there were friendly. The service and restaurant itself were not the issue to my visit. The food just isn't that good. I went for breakfast and got a platter that contained scrambled eggs, hash browns, Cuban toast, turkey sausage, and cafe con leche. The scrambled eggs were fine. The hash browns tasted like it was fried in unclean oil. The turkey sausage had bone particles while chewing and tasted very processed. The Cuban bread was okay but whatever butter-like spread they put on, was not real butter. The cafe con leche was more leche than café. I honestly did not finish most of this meal. I had heard that they have good food but maybe the lunch/dinner food is better. Unfortunately for me, I probably will not go back. read more

Cocos was amazing. I found them on Uber eats and I can't wait to try them again. Their stuffed potatoe aka papa rellena was incredibleeeee! Had the steak sandwich and an empanada too. The empanada had a surprise shmear of cream cheese and the steak sandwich had something in it that was tangy like a pickled onion or something. Day #4 of the new job and this is Cuban sandwich # 4. This one was a sleeper and it turned out to be the best yet. This is a pretty busy sandwich shop in an industrial area. Tons of work trucks and big rigs parked around it. I think I am getting my order a little more refined in going with extra roast pork and adding mayo. They were happy to oblige. They didn't cut it and it was a pretty large sandwich. This one checked all the boxes. Crunchy, tasty, savory, and not dry at all. I really enjoyed this one along with the croquetas. $13 for a sandwich, water, and croquetas. I will definitely be back for this one soon. This one takes the blue ribbon so far. The family and I were headed over to DeSoto Park for a swim, and we passed this spot, and decided to stop on our way home. I'm so glad we did. What a great little spot! They serve breakfast and lunch, I'm assuming they see a lot of business from The Port of Tampa because they open so early, and I'm telling you right now they feed big men that work at the port because the sandwiches are gigantic! You don't pick a 6" or foot long like other commercial spots, it's one size, HUGE, and it's on fresh baked Cuban bread! Delicioso! We got the kids a roasted chicken quarter with white rice and black beans, with a side of plantains, when I tell you this is some of the BEST CHICKEN I've had in Tampa at a Spanish spot, this is not a joke. Ridiculously juicy and fell right off the bone, the beans are seasoned exceptionally well, and the plantains are just the right amount of sweet. My husband got the Cuban which he said was pretty good. But this is the hidden gem right here: THE FISH SANDWICH. Did I mention the sandwiches are gigantic? The fish was a hearty, hearty portion, fried up perfect, still moist and flaky, and topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, and Mayo. It. Needs. Nothing. Else. Seriously if you're in the area, STOP IN! I'm surprised to be the first to review this restaurant, as it appears to have stood for quite some time. Due to the location of this cafe along with the operating hours, I feel confident saying that a large portion of their business comes from those working at the Port of Tampa; it's directly across from the entrance in an older building. The menu consists of basic sandwiches (Cuban, Roast Beef, Roast Pork, etc) along with a small buffet that I'd assume changes daily. They also have breakfast, hence the opening at 5AM! I went safe and ordered a Cuban and a bottle of Diet Coke, total was $5.50. It wasn't the best Cuban I have ever had (see: West Tampa Sandwich Shop), but it was still pretty tasty and filled me up on a budget. It's worth to note that a guy named Carlos seemed to own/run the place and he welcomed each person who walked into the door...most of them seemed to speak back as if long time customers. During my short wait for my sandwich, Carlos offered up a complimentary Cubano espresso. If you're in the area and hungry, I absolutely recommend Coco's Sandwich Shop...now, I just wonder who Coco is? read more
