Today was my first time here and it was very good. I had the steak Colorado and my husband had the shredded beef burrito (wet style). We also both had a michelada. Everything was perfect. This place has really good authentic Mexican food. Always satisfied with whatever I order. Only reason I'm not giving it a 5 star is because the waitress are not that attentive and just about every time I come in I'm always finding myself getting up to ask for things because they take too long or forgot. The owner is super nice and we see him coming over to tables occasionally asking how everything is going. Definitely recommend this place. read more

We go here A LOT! One of our favorite places to relax and enjoy good, inexpensive food. There have only been a few times where our food came either wrong or not cooked as it should have been (overcooked shrimp tacos and carne asada) but for the most part we almost always enjoy eating here! I ordered the Mojarra Plate with Rice and Beans, was very delicious. The waitress we usually get is very attentive and brings my chips freshly fried as she already knows, I don't take salt on my chips. This is an amazing place. Food is good. Service is bad. We have nicknamed it "Bad service Mexican food place". We eat here a couple times a month because the food is good and it's close to home. The micheladas are amazing! We usually share a plate if enchiladas and I think that helps with the service time. read more

After reading the reviews on Yelp I hesitantly came here and was ready to receive crappy service. My husband and I decided to give this place a try because it is local and their shrimp cocktails and mega micheladas looked amazing. To my surprise we were immediately greeted and told to sit anywhere we like, as soon as we sat down the waitress brought us chips, salsa and a couple of menus. Since we knew what we wanted we ordered right away and our food was at the table within 10 mins. The mega michelada was huge and the shrimp cocktails were fresh and delicious! It was so good that we ate it all! We were craving something sweet after and asked the waitress about the flan she said it was store bought but that it tasted good. We decided to give it a try, it definitely does not compare to homemade flan but it was good. Our experience was very good and the food and service were great the three young waitresses working were all very attentive. I will definitely be coming to Mangos Paradise! read more

Short story: delicious food. Chimichanga w chile verde on top a must! Great service! Low price!! Long story: Man oh man!!! Yes yes yes!!! I came here on a saturday evening. It wasnt super full but there were plenty of people. The servers were really nice. It was clean and they started us w chips and salsa. There were only 2 girls so they were busy with all the tables but kept checking in with us frequently. I ordered the beef chimichanga with Chile verde on top.. I DEFINITELY recommend that plate... Specially if you're really hungry or have a big appetite cuz its huge! It came with rice and beans on the side which were tasty.. And im picky with my rice and beans. It also came with a salad but i substituted for fries. The beef quesadilla my son got was also a huge quesadilla. We ended up getting to go boxes at the end. Let tell u though.. I used to absolutely love this place, I was there EVERY Friday. You get complimentary chips and salsa; the salsa is amazing! But the quality of food has decreased as the prices go up. I have witnessed in 2 occasions, where there has been hair in the food; kitchen employees do not wear hairnets. A friend also recently shared she cited a roach! The service from the AM and PM is definitely different, like night and day; literally. If you're in search of better, more attentive service, I recommend you go in the AM. In the PM, the waitresses aren't as attentive, it doesn't seem as if it's intentional, it seems that they are just not capable of handling the tasks at hand. It takes them forever to sit people, to simply clean a table. They struggle with remembering certain things, like extra ice, tapatío, etc. There are only 2 waitresses per shift but the location is very small. The food, has decreased in quality. Also, you question the safety; at times you don't feel confident that the food was fully cooked. I've ordered grilled fish tacos, seemed raw and "fully cooked" shrimp tostada, again not fully cooked. Let's not forget about the hair in the food that I've mentioned. I considered giving the restaurant 2 starts but I'll give it 3 stars because of the AM shift and other menu selections are still quite tasty. read more

Came here because someone had recommended it to me and made it seem like the best place ever. Nice little place. Wish they had real aguas frescas instead of the fountain poured ones (no refills). I'm sure the seafood is great and other food items, but I ordered a chile relleno burrito with green sauce and man was that the most plain burrito I had ever had! The sauce was most likely from a can and the rice was ehh.....the beans were ok. This USE to be my favorite place until me and my family got bad service here. We got here and it was smooth took our orders and everything up Until they stopped checking on us to check on the bigger orders or bigger family's which was ok we get that then our food took 30-40 minutes to come (my order) then my parents ask for menudo sin grano and my dad got his first and it had the grano (the white balls) we left it like that. also they didn't give him tortillas, lemons or like The spices. then my mom order the same exact thing as him but it took them even longer and they forgot she had menudo too, they thought we only ordered just one menudo. Anyways hers had grano in it too even though we ordered it without. And finally after they brought the tortillas and lemons and veggies. The food is good yeah but the service doesn't make up for it. We come to Mango's every weekend we can. It is a lovely family owned restaurant that offers authentic Mexican food and some American. I have tried a variety of things on the menu and have been pleased every time. My husband is a bit more picky and either gets the fish tacos which are great or a chilie Colorado burrito, he loves it, I think it's ok. Not everybody has the same tastes. They are always willing to accommodate our special orders. The breakfast menu is great. Consider your tolerance for spicy food and order accordingly, I like spicy but my husband doesn't. The service is great on the weekends which is when we usually go. I have experienced the occasional off visits, but the staff and owners always make things right. We have been coming here for a few years now and will continue to do so. Mom and pop places have more charm that big chain restaurants. I recommend trying them out. read more

I have always gone to this restaurant for my graduations. Middle School, High School, and my plan for my graduation from College after this quarantine was over to celebrate here. The usual lady that works here is great! She makes me feel welcome and she understands everything exactly how I say I want in my order. So today there was this new lady. Usually the phone call to order is easy you say your order and I specifically said no onion or cilantro. Remember this I said no onion inside my order. I understand sauces have onion and I am okay with taking it off outside of my food but inside thats just a waste of time. My order is taken and this lady doesn't even ask what kind of meat she is like okay 20 minutes. Me: wow that was quick. I go and pick up my order as usual and this time I leave a tip because I love Mangos Paradise. I go home to discover my burrito had tons of cooked onions in the first slice of my burrito. My meat was not carne asada. I called to let the lady know that I had specifically said that I did not want onion on the inside because now the kids will not eat it. Yes I sound very ungrateful and picky but thats why I specifically say what I want and do not want in the order. The lady is giving me a hard time saying that she told me that the burritos come with cooked onions and she repeatedly tells me that thats how they are and she finally says bring back the burritos to see what they can do. I take back the burritos and I tell the lady that took my order that the lady that is usually here knows how to order them (plus she is very thorough about asking what kind of meat, sauce, etc) and this lady tells me "well some of us don't always know" and I am told to wait 15 minutes for new ones. I am totally okay with waiting because I am not rude. I finally get my new burritos and this lady tells me "Do you want to check them before you leave?" I do and guess what, there is no forks or napkins in the bag. I have to ask for a fork because I obviously don't want to use my hand to dig in and make sure my order is right. I just feel really unwelcome by that one lady and I will not go back to that place. I am all for small businesses (chinese, mexican, etc.) but at this point I feel disrespected after going to this restaurant for many years. That employee is what brings the place down. Make sure the nice lady that normally works with the light brown hair and highlights is working because if she isn't that other lady will make you feel like a piece of shit. read more

Every time I am in town there are two staples I go to. Brothers Pizza or next door to Mangos Paradise. This review isn't about the food as anyone who has ever been to Mangos knows it is great! However their service has been lacking these past couple of times I've been there. I've thought maybe it was a one time thing but nope not so much. From the moment we sat ourselves down it took about 10 mins to get our menus. There were two men behind the counter just staring at us. Maybe they were cooks? But I stared back in hopes they would get the point that we were hungry. In the midst of our staring duel of who would blink first, a lady walks out from the back and brings us chips, salsa and a couple of menus. We place our orders. We eat. There was no attempt at a drink refill. No attempt to clear any of the finished plates from our table. When the lady finally comes over we ask for boxes and the bill. She brings the boxes but no bill. It's not like the place was busy. Only two other tables with patrons. It took 15 mins for me to get the check. 15 mins of waiting while she did other things. Those other things I don't know what. What used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant in town has slowly turned into the worst based off of service alone. From now on I'll order my food to go. Or just have Italian next door. 3 stars for the great food..... minus 3 stars for the service and oh I forgot to mention they do not have a working bathroom. Wth?? read more

The food is AMAZING. I have been there 3 times recently with my husband and everything we have ordered has been perfect. Their menudo is to die for. However, service is horrible. Put all your requests in at one time because the waitress probably isn't coming back for the rest of your meal. Every single time we have been there they have messed up my bill. First time they swapped bills and tried to give me the bill for a table of 8 instead of my table of 2. Big price difference for me but someone else got off cheap. Second time they double charged me for a dish. Third time they under charged me by not adding my daughters meal, plus forgot to place order for my food. Its always something. I will keep going back because as I said their food cant be beat. I have definitely learned though to triple check my bill and expect a lengthy wait. Not because they are so packed but because they are slow. The food is worth it though. Come here for the food not the service. read more

We have heard about this place for some time now, so we decided to finally give it a try. We got our chips in a basket that seemed to have quite some buildup with no napkin or paper as separation and to top it off there was a piece of hot link or something in there with the chips. Gross! I placed the order for my entire family and when the waitress brought our food out (a long while later) she just assumed who ordered what and began placing plates in front of the wrong people. I had to rearrange all the food accordingly. I have to say the food was pretty good....we had shrimp ceviche and agua chile. We asked for more chips and this time there was a napkin in the basket beneath the chips, but once again there seemed to be some type of hot link in there. It made me think they probably don't clean out their fryer well. Once we paid our bill and the waitress brought back our card and receipt for signature, she stood there hovering over me while I was filling it out. No one has ever done that before and we eat out often. I instantly became annoyed and she caused a deduction in her tip amount. My husband and kids noticed the weird behavior of this waitress as well so I know it wasn't just me with my high expectations of good customer service. Not sure that we'll be back. read more
