Been trying different boils around the IE. Place was packed and they had Mexican music playing, kinda odd. Anyway got me a pound of shrimp with corn, sausage, and potatoes. Then ordered a side of fries, the fries were crispy, little oily, decent taste, too much crunch, not enough flavor in my opinion. The boil had more of a grab on texture compared to the liquid texture you usually get. It had a decent taste to it but I feel like the liquid does more justice to the flavor, sausage wasn't the highest quality, little on the chewy side, the potatoes went well with the sauce. I ordered 2 pounds of shrimp and added sausage and corn with a side of rice. The shrimp were cooked to perfection which I really really appreciate. I ordered the blazing sauce which is a mixture of all their sauces and I did not like it at all. It has tomato base in it. They either use tomato sauce or purée or something to the sauce and that just should not be in a crab boil. Anybody knows the flavor of tomato can overpower or mute other flavors so it just doesn't belong in seafood boil sauce and I couldn't enjoy it for that reason. So basically $53 and approximately 2 pounds of shrimp gone to waste. Also, there weren't many pieces of sausage as a matter of fact, I only found two pieces of sausage. They were a good brand of sausage. I didn't eat much of the sides anyway because that Tomato flavor threw me off. If I had been home and not heading out of town, I would have washed the sauce off and made my own. I usually do the house blend when eating at restaurants like these. My boyfriend and I have been here multiple times times over the years and usually have a good experience, but yesterday was not the case. We walk in and there are signs saying to check in on the ipad and wait to be called. The ipad was off, so we waited to be seated at the entrance (like any other restaurant). We stood there for 10-15 minutes without being acknowledged. I figured they'd get to us, it's a busy friday night. Nope. I realized once another couple walked to the back of the restaurant and were immediately seated that we were supposed to walk up. So that's when we do. I ask the host how we can get a table, she curtly asked "What's your name?" I responded "Ash, but we didn't put our name in or anything, I just don't know how to get a table." She rolled her eyes at me and said "You didnt see the ipad?" I said "They were turned off..." She then said "How many?" I responded "For two."
