    Watery flavorless chili cheese fries
    Arlene C.

First time trying this place and I wanted a pastrami but the cook said they didn't have it. So I ordered the chili cheese fries and was very disappointed. Mind you this was my first meal of the. They were watery, and had no flavor i had to add alot of salt for taste. When I opened the container, they looked like they were going to be good but unfortunately they were not. Sad that my first time was a bad experience I dont think I will be going back. I went to the ampm for a cheeseburger lol I honestly should have just gotten that but thought I'd give this place a try, instant regret at first bite. I did force myself to eat a few fries cause I was very hungry.

    The menudo is 10.99

The menudo is 10.99. and they serve it everyday and is delicious. We come here for lunch. Everything on the menu we have tried has tasted really good. Highly recommend. The nachos they serve is in a big proportion.

Water bottle for size comparison (chorizo breakfast burrito)

This review is for their chorizo burrito ONLY. Restuarant is inside an arco\ampm gas station. I got a chorizo breakfast burrito for $7. The burrito had little to NO chorizo in it, made of mostly beans and hashbrowns. It's not worth it for the price. Definitely can find way better chorizo burritos for cheaper.

Shredded beef torta..tastes so great! They put meat, beans, lettuce (I exchanged cabbage for that) sour cream, tomato, jalapenos & onion.

From the very first visit my family has enjoyed eating here. Seemed a little bit weird at first since it's attached to an Arco, but the seats are comfortable, they make the food fast and prices are very reasonable. We've had the shrimp and steak fajitas, and asked if they could make a shrimp burrito (they did). Excellent all the way around. We've had several breakfasts-- all of them really good, very generous portions, great taste. My personal favorite is the shredded beef torta...the bollio is so soft and warm and yummy! Every dish we've gotten here has been a hit! Even my picky grandchildren love it! Staff is very nice and they bring the food to the tables and you don't clean the table afterwards (so try to leave a tip in the tip jar, I'm sure they appreciate it). Great place, great food...this is a hit!

Chorizo breakfast burrito. Ok no flavor.

I was in the area visiting a relative and went in for a to go order. Place is small but clean. My cousin requested a chorizo breakfast burrito and menudo to share. My order came out quickly and the lady behind the counter fairly friendly. Burrito was very bland and could tell by the smell of the menudo before we even opened the container it was going to be a huge disappointment. Not sure if I would go again and try other menu items. 2 stars is for the place being clean and fairly friendly staff. 0 for the food.

I like ordering the burrito from here, it's pretty good. I haven't tried anything else, soon I'll try something different on their menu.

I particularly enjoy the consistency of the pastrami, the burger patty, and the fresh shredded lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. As a two-time stroke survivor with restricted mobility, I usually get it via the drive-thru, or my wife, Chef Ann, orders inside to-go, or I'll use Grubhub delivery via Amazon Prime. Sometimes I'll throw in a large order of french fries, too. If you like pastrami burgers, this is an absolute must-try--you won't be disappointed!

The patty was cooked well, the vegetables were fresh, and everything was assembled nicely, but there was nothing that really stood out... The pastrami chili cheese fries was something I was looking forward to because of how frequently it's mentioned. The portion was massive, but the whole dish just felt very heavy. The pastrami was flavorful and not too dry, but the chili was pretty one dimensional and did not add much flavor beyond saltiness. After a few bites, everything started to blend together and it was difficult to finish. Overall, a decent spot if you're looking for an old school burger spot, but nothing that really makes me want to go out of my way to come back, except maybe to try the mechanic..

First off, this joint survives because it's convenient for the neighborhood. That's really what…read morekeeps it alive. The place is filthy and looks like no one ever cleans it. The dining area appears to be a patio that was converted into an enclosed seating area. You can still see the original pillars and brickwork, which don't match the rest of the decor. There was also a car show flyer taped to the front door for an event in Riverside that happened last October. That's just lazy. How hard is it to clean up and remove outdated signs? To me, that's an indicator of a lazy staff, and I don't want a lazy staff preparing my food. The guy at the order window is short with customers and rushes you while ordering. He won't make substitutions, either. The problem is that he's also the gatekeeper for all the condiments and napkins. The dining area is basically just a box with a trash can, you don't have access to anything yourself. Whatever he decides to give you is what you get. There's no room for discussion. Now for the FOOD I ordered three chicken-fried burgers, and there was absolutely no consistency between them. I added pickles to all three, but one burger had only a single pickle. One burger was as dry as the Dead Sea, with no mayonnaise at all. Another had the right amount of mayonnaise, but the lettuce was mostly white stems. Goldilocks wouldn't be able to find a burger that was "just right" at this place. The fries were a mix of undercooked and burnt, which is impressive in all the wrong ways. The portion was also ridiculously small. For the price of the combo, you'd think they could provide a reasonable amount of fries. As for the chicken-fried patty itself, it was paper-thin, about as thick as two quarters stacked together. I like my chicken thick, like my wife's Mexican booty. Overall, don't go out of your way to stop here. If you don't live nearby, there's nothing worth writing home about. They're incredibly stingy with their portions, condiments, and napkins. I've eaten in some real dumps before. Hell, I've eaten kangaroo, raw beef, and even camel while sitting on the floor and eating with my hands, and those experiences beat this place. Save your money and go to Red Robin, or even walk across the street to Pizza Loca.

Does a few things and does them well. Their sauce is top notch, burgers have a nice char, and the ingredients are fresh. Know what you are getting going in. A cheaply priced meal, with good ingredients, made to order. In a place that looks like it's been around since at least the 80s. And done well. Gotta keep places like this alive. There was also plenty of parking and several seating options inside. We decided to order a little bit of everything so we could try as much of the menu as possible. We had the brisket, brisket burnt ends, rib tips, several sides, and both desserts. The brisket burnt ends were definitely my favorite. They were smoky, tender, and full of flavor. The brisket had a beautiful bark and was cooked perfectly, and the rib tips were just as good. I was honestly just as impressed with the sides. My favorites were the spicy mac and cheese and the potato salad. The potato salad was creamy and was the perfect thing to cool your mouth after eating the steamed jalapeños. The coleslaw and green beans were also really refreshing and balanced out all the rich barbecue. The biggest surprise for me was the sweet yams. It was so flavorful that it tasted like it had been slow-cooked in brown sugar and spices for hours. For dessert, I tried both the banana pudding and the peach cobbler. The banana pudding was the winner for me, but I also liked that the peach cobbler wasn't overly sweet. Even the cornbread was delicious. I ended up pairing it with the barbecue baked beans and was a great combo. Our total came to about $110 before tax and tip, but we ordered enough food to try a wide variety of meats, sides, and desserts, so I thought it was well worth it. Overall, there wasn't a single thing we ordered that I wouldn't get again. If you're looking for great Texas-style barbecue in the Inland Empire, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try. I'll definitely be back to work my way through the rest of the menu.
