Absorb what you can on a path, no matter how big or small. It was meant to show you something. I love delightful little gardens like these, that connect to a park, neighborhoods, and a school. It's true, you might not think of this as a botanical garden because of it's size, but it has plants, trees, rocks, insects, birds, flowers, water and walking paths, so it for certain is one. Yes, it's small. And for me, the best place for parking was in the residential neighborhood right next to the garden. We drove here randomly on a Wednesday. After dining in Torrance, we were looking for a place to walk off our food. Thanks be to Yelp for yet another hidden treasure. When you walk through the desolate, dry garden, you'll find bits of information about elements that exist here. Those interesting facts are always educational. I liked the jaunt I took within this garden, for some reason it felt like enough for me. Normally, I beg for more scenery. It may have been the weather though, this was in December and it was cold that day, so maybe I was happy it was brief? If you blink you might miss this place and end up at Polliwog Park instead. We ended up there after for more cardio. If you're looking for a short walk through a cool, overlooked landscape, you could visit this botanical hideaway in Manhattan Beach.

Very small botanical garden but was nice to take a quick stroll and enjoy the peace and quiet. Parking is free on the street and the botanical garden is free.

Nice little stop to check out a mini botanical garden. It's only about a 5 minute walk but if you stop and check out some of the stuff in detail it could take longer. Parking on street.

Waiting for my son to get out of his SCROC class I decided to hike around Polliwog Park since I haven't been there since my son was in middle school when he was doing a science project. In the South/West corner I came across the small but cute botanical gardens. Although it is very small it is worth a walk through if you are nearby. The birds and the butterflies seem to like it there too.

This is a small garden inside the Polliwog Park. It's a tranquil area with copious butterflies. It's a gorgeous place. It helps you to stop and smell the roses.

This is a teeny, tiny Botanical Garden that is free and conveniently located as part of Polliwog Park. It will take 10 min tops to see the whole thing. I like that it is free and my son can smell some of the flowers. It is definitely worth stopping in if you are already at Polliwog.

It's free so it's small, but it's beautiful and attached to a really cute park!! It's a nice little place to get out for a bit.

I walked through yesterday as requested by a fantastic 8 yr old boy. He really likes it and it was a nice addition to our Geocaching day.

We came with friends for the 2021 summer concert series in the park…read more As the name suggests this park is next to the library.  As mentioned in another review, Library Park appears to be the official town center of El Segundo, as it's across the street from the high school.  As I enjoyed the tunes I could not help but appreciated El Segundo HS, which is a magnificent old brick building, reminded me of USC. The entire park, including the library building, covers only one square block, but what a lovely space it is. So, in this town square with old shade trees and a band stand are benches with dedication/memorial plaques. This is just a simple nice/clean park. The concert series was really fun.

Mayberry, as it's across the street from the high school. And the HS itself is a magnificent old brick building. This is a town full of treasures. So. When was the last time you saw a park with a band stand? How very cool. It's Library Park's crowning glory, as there are no sports facilities.......just beautiful areas designed to be eye candy. Like the rose garden. The entire park, including the library building, covers only one square block, but what a lovely space it is. The sports fields, basketball courts, and playground are behind the school just west of Library Park (see photo), allowing the central park to remain pristine. So, in this town square with old shade trees and a band stand are benches with dedication/memorial plaques. As I review more and more parks, I find myself pausing to read the words. And I have discovered that beautiful sentiments are found in parks. Such as the one on the bench in Library Park that reads "Meet me in the garden, Gardener Bob". Who knew that reviewing parks would become a spiritual journey? I thought I was just out seeking exercise. I found much, much more. And I have only just begun.
