My HOA hired this company to trim the trees in my complex last month. The first day we were able to speak with the workers and ask that they not trim too much from the two trees on either side of our balcony. They respectfully complied with our request. Unbeknownst to us, a crew returned the next day and BUTCHERED THEM. I agreed that a TRIM was in order, but I was devastated by what I found. It will take YEARS for this to grow back. It was not only lovely, it provided privacy. I wouldn't recommend them, but if you do use this company, watch them like a hawk. read more

As long as you have reasonable expectations for tradesmen workmanship, timing, and communication, Finley's is an easy 5-star company. You'll need to be flexible and open to changes depending on weather and availability. And sometimes, things just happen. We had Finley's remove a large tree in our backyard and it was twice delayed due to rain, which was frustrating, but not Finley's fault. I worked with Evan on scheduling the appointments and he did great. His job is already hard enough to juggle multiple jobs and multiple crews, so take it easy on him. I live in Torrance and I had seen Finley's trucks with their logo on them from time to time, so I was somewhat familiar with the name. This time I asked them to remove stumps from my yard, remove unwanted plants, grade the ground, plant new plants, cancel some sprinklers, embed additional pipes, and lay gravel. BEWARE! Finley's Tree & Landcare will not take any responsibility for their own actions or lack thereof. Complete Landscape Renovation Transaction Date: 9/27/22 Cost: $11, 438.00 Issue: Continuous water leak from 10/07/22 - 2/15/22. I was living in elsewhere from August 2022 - January 2023. I have documentation to back up my residence in San Diego. The first time I was made aware of the leak was when my automatic payment was processed on 12/31/22, even though it started on 10/07/22. City of Torrance bills their customers every two months. I did not return back to Torrance until 01/06/23 and I turned off the water, only turning it on when I needed to shower. I did this throughout the duration of my troubleshooting, until 2/14/23. After troubleshooting the leak with two un-associated plumbers and 5 visits from the City of Torrance Utilities team. It was confirmed through ALL parties that the leak was not related to the main water line to the house. The leak was only associated to the irrigation line, specific issue was a BROKEN VALVE. Finley's sent their team out, confirmed it was due to their work and fixed the issue on 2/15/23. Immediate after they fixed the issue, water usage went back to normal as expected. I reached out to Finley management every month from March to August without a response or mutual resolution. I haven't even mentioned that the walkway they created washes into the sidewalk every time it rains. I'm actively looking for someone else to fix their design issue. I've used Finley's for the last several years for tree trimming. Their prices are competitive, and they come with a full crew (6-7 guys) so the work is done quickly and efficiently. The guys are on-time and do a great job cleaning up after the've completed the job. Today, I'm extra impressed because I had them come out to remove an old Chinese Elm tree and grind the stump. The tree was in a tricky location as our sideyard is very narrow, making it challenging to get the equipment to the backyard. The guys had to come up with a very creative solution to get the stump grinder to the backyard and in the end, it worked! I had called 2 or 3 other companies to come out and give me quotes for the work. Finley's was the most competitively priced by far and did an excellent job. I corresponded with Evan Dalka at Finley's, who was professional, responsive and always answered the phone when I called. The work area is usually cleaned up at the end of a work day. The project manager, James, is supportive, creative and helpful. We had to hire several contractors for different projects on our home, Finley was one of the better ones that I need not worry about. Finley also trimmed our canary pine trees - did a good job - quick and tidy. But we did not need any trees to be planted.
