Was a patient of MDA for 3.5 years - experienced the same type of rushed and anxious environment. Had an implant done that was definitely sub-optimal. The staff seem competent but there seems to be turnover pressure that reduces quality of care. I stopped going to MDA because the dentist I had left the practice... after less than a year, so that's concerning. Every time I went to MDA, I felt like I was inconveniencing the dental assistants, and everyone seemed overworked and stressed, which is not something you want to experience as a patient, especially with dental anxiety. I informed the practice that I wanted to leave, which should have been a "thanks for trusting us, we're here whenever you need us" conversation. MDA will not stop calling me, telling me it's been __ time since my last visit and I should return. I finally just blocked the number after telling them multiple times to stop calling me. read more

My experience with Manhattan Dental Arts has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. I was new to the area and sought dental services from MDA based on quick research and their positive reviews. After my experience, I dug a little more and (not) to my surprise, there were quite a few reviews that mirrored experiences similar to mine. If I had seen those, I would have second guessed booking an appointment. My advice - never, ever, go to MDA. It is a very long story, but I will keep it as short as I can. On April 11 2023 I went to MDA for routine x-rays and a cleaning. During the cleaning I heard a small pop in my mouth, but did not think much of it. At the end of the cleaning, the hygienist asked if I knew that my bottom permanent retainer was broken. I told her I had no knowledge of this, and prior to my visit, I didn't think that was the case. Ultimately, I told the dentist and there was confusion as to when it was broken. Luckily, I had taken the x-rays prior to the cleaning to which they saw it was not broken. I was told this would be fully reimbursed, but I would have to come back again to get it fixed. During this first visit, I was also told I would need 2 fillings, and I asked if they could fit me for a new night guard. I returned on April 22 2023 to get fitted for my new bottom permanent retainer, new night guard, and get the 2 fillings. I did feel a little discomfort after the fillings but was told it would subside - more on this later! During checkout, I supplied them with my insurance card but was told that I would have to pay $565.24 since it was a Saturday and they couldn't file the insurance that day. Confused but unaware, I paid up and was told I would be reimbursed once they submitted it through insurance. I made yet another appointment to return so they could fit my bottom retainer and receive my night guard. In between my second and third visit, I called MDA to get clarity on the hefty price-tag I paid during my previous visit. I was informed that I had to pay for the fillings (pre insurance), the permanent retainer was free, and to my surprise, the night guard would also be fully reimbursed. Spoiler, it was not fully reimbursed and thus began the journey of complete lack of clarity on any of the expenses and their coverage. On my third visit to MDA, I sat in the chair to be fitted. The dentist came in and told me that they received the wrong permanent retainer type and they would not be able to fit me for it that day. Frustrated but keeping my composure, I told them it was ok. I did let them know my fillings were still giving me issues when eating. They sanded the fillings down a little more and told me that should help (it didn't). I called prior to my fourth visit to ensure they had the right retainer. Upon confirming the date, they said that the Doctor was not actually in that day, and I would have to reschedule. I did so... and I returned for my fourth visit, now in early June. They fitted me for my bottom retainer, I received my night guard, however my fillings were still giving me issues. The Doctor further sanded the fillings down and asked if I still had pain when biting down. I said I did, but she said that's all she could do and I'd be fine. Fine! At this point, I still hadn't been reimbursed and was in the dark on what the claims were for or the explanation of benefits (EOB). I won't bore you with how many times I called my insurance provider, MDA, or conference called between the two. Finally, in September 2023 I got a notification that a reimbursement was on the way. However, upon receiving it I noticed it was a few hundred dollars short of what I was initially told. Further calls, emails, grievance letters, having to re-explain my story over and over again to new office managers, insurance billers etc, we finally came to an agreement on another reimbursement amount in January 2024. I was excited to finally have this mess over with - or so I thought. Weeks passed and no reimbursement. After more calls, they said it was coming... only after more threats of further grievance actions. Finally, a notification saying a payment was initiated for the correct amount! That notification led to false hope as it sat unpaid for over a month. I was finally paid the remaining amount on March 20th 2024, a short 11 months (343 days to be exact) after my initial visit. TLDR; In conclusion, the reviews calling out MDA for their shady billing practices are absolutely correct. I am lucky not to struggle without the money I was owed, but for someone, that could be a missed rent payment, weekly groceries, or another medical bill. Overall, I would not recommend MDA, ever, in this lifetime, even if every future procedure was free. :) read more

Came here in pain because of a cracked tooth in 2022. I gave my medical history of HBP and after x-rays and cursory exam was told the would not work on my tooth or even give me a cleaning even though a cleaning does mot require any anesthesia or meds that would interact with HBP. It is elder and probably disability discrimination that standards of care are different. ADA has consistently voted to separate health insurance from dental insurance because they are different health areas do not effect one another. Did not and will not ever go back. read more

I was a patient of MDA for many years and was very happy with their services and treatments. Dr. VanMeter treated me for implants and I have nothing but good things to say about him. He is terrific. Unfortunately they now have a new set up and Dr. Liechtung is no longer active in running the practice. I found the new support staff very unfriendly. They also attempted to charge me for services which I did not receive. And last, but not least, I had a dental savings plan which they no longer would honor even though I had been previously assured that I was "grandfathered" in it. I've been a patient at Manhattan Dental Arts for a little over a year now and I must say the staff has been very helpful during my treatment. I always leave each appointment feeling better than the last because of the tremendous progress I've made not only with my treatment, but also my overall dental hygiene. I had pined for 3 years to get back to MDA, but unfortunately they were out of my network. After suffering through a different office entirely (a horror show!), I made no less than about 4 calls over the last several months to Dacia, who assisted me in understanding the limitations of my dental insurance, though she said that my cleaning would be covered. So I QUICKLY booked an appointment for myself and my husband. 5 Star shout out to: Dacia- for being so communicative and on the ball! Reception- For always being fantastic with all matter prior to and post appointment! Karina- Dental Hygienist Extraordinaire Dr. VanMeter- A dentist who ACTUALLY KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING. Sure they have a swanky office and a comprehensive website, but the dentist that treated me was NOT friendly. Maybe I caught her on a bad day, but she was snappy and arrogant. Also, they are ridiculously overpriced. I paid something around $300 to have two basic cavities (one surface each) filled WITH insurance. She rushed through my appointment only to try and sell me on thousands of dollars worth of work. Yes, please, perform $6,000 of dental work after being in my mouth for 2 minutes. Sure, I trust you. They calculate your copay by hand and by referring to a sheet. That's all fine and dandy, but they guy that calculated mine had to do it three times.... hmmmm? I've been seeing Dr. Liecthung & Dr. Johnston after leaving a dentist I had been using for many years. I was a little nervous making the change but they made me feel completely at ease with them. I had been feeling some pain that my old dentist kept dismissing as normal after a procedure he had done. They found the issue pretty quickly and found a way to salvage the remaining tooth. They offered me a quick & affordable solution and it's been over a month now and that tooth hasn't bothered me at all. The office staff was really great! I only had a minor procedure done and the work was fine. Dr. VanMeter is a very good dentist I believe Friendly staff and nice place all in all. The problem began when one the other dentists began informing me that I badly needed five big procedures done and I needed to schedule them right away. The work amounted to roughly $20k before insurance. The front desk got pushy about scheduling so I decided to go to a different dentist. When I finally did, the new dentist said I did not need any work done, but he'd like to see me wear a mouth guard which he made for $180. I definitely feel the practice pushed unnecessary procedures. I have good insurance, but don't make very much, so I'm probably not the kind of patient they want anyway. Love my new dentist, I will go to him forever. read more

Had a 3:15 appointment and after waiting 45 minutes, they finally got a dentist to see me, but only after I bitched about it. Then I finally saw the dentist who proceeded to tell me that I had 2 options for treatment, but they would only do the option that was way more expensive. Instead of even entertaining the idea of salvaging my tooth, they jumped right to the expensive option of a dental implant which is thousands of dollars. On my short list of fears, going to the dentist sits above public speaking and death. I was with a great dentist in Jersey City for almost 10 years and all was well. But after living in NYC for a little more than 2 years, I decided to be brave, eliminate the annoying commute, and find a great new dentist right in my neighborhood. Out of the list of choices, Manhattan Dental Arts seemed to be best suited to what I needed. Like my former dentist, they accepted my insurance, offered a complete palette of services and there were dentists on staff who had also studied at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. From the first phone conversation with Fatima I had a sense it was going to be a good experience, and it was. Today, during my first visit, Asya was compassionate, thorough and attentive as she examined and cleaned my teeth and took the full set of X-rays. Dr. Jacobs' energy is great and he was very clear and gentle while reviewing X-rays and exploring the landscape of my mouth. I felt very comfortable at Manhattan Dental Arts today. And although I don't have any work that needs to be done currently, I'm looking forward to exchanging smiles with them in my future visits. read more

By FAR, they are the most unprofessional medical practice I have had the misfortune of dealing with. They billed me, a year later, for services they had already been paid for, lied about what they had and hadn't done, and threatened to sue me for money I didn't owe. The "manager" said she'd been in the room with me when I had my procedure done...she hadn't even WORKED there back then. Shockingly, when the New York State Attorney General got involved, they disappeared! Suddenly, I didn't owe money! Hmmm.. Check the filtered reviews. Hey, Manhattan Dental Arts' Facebook page says they want to hear patients' opinions on Yelp! Funny because the last time I posted a review of Manhattan Dental Arts online, they threatened to sue me. [by the way, look at their filtered reviews] But if they want to hear it now, here it is. I was a patient of Dr. Parr for a few years (he no longer works there). I went to the office to have some work done and it was performed by one of their specialists. They walked me through the procedure and one of their employees helped me figure out my co-pays. They told me my (expensive) procedure would be covered at 50% by my insurance and I'd be responsible for the remaining half. No problem. I got the work done and paid them on the spot for my half. OVER A YEAR LATER, I get a bill from these clowns for the other half. Turns out insurance covered next to nothing, which they should have been fully aware of when "helping" me with an estimate. To top it off, not only did they demand payment, but Manhattan Dental Arts persisted in demanding prices far above what they were contractually obligated to charge as an in-network provider. Let me explain, for people who haven't had the nightmare of researching health care and insurance law to defend themselves from Manhattan Dental Arts. "Balance billing" happens when a doctor, in-network with your insurance, says a service costs $1,000, for example, and your insurance company responds that it's a $300 service. Legally, if the doctor is in-network with insurance, they have to charge $300, but less scrupulous doctors will just bill you for $1,000 anyway. Manhattan Dental Arts, apparently not concerned about such trivialities as "laws" or "ethics," went right ahead and did this. Their staff were absolutely horrific in the way they dealt with this. They shouted at me. They threatened to sue me. They threatened sending it to a collection agency. You name it, they did it. And the whole time they were illegally balance-billing! I spent months dealing with this, terrified that I was going to be sued or have collections because they screwed up on my coinsurance estimate. When I sought legal counsel and reported them to the authorities, Manhattan Dental Arts simply went away. Sucks for anyone who doesn't know better. So, Manhattan Dental Arts, here's my opinion, posted on Yelp, as you requested. My opinion is that any doctor who threatens to sue patients over money they don't even owe is more of a con artist than a doctor. Further, my opinion is that such practices make you an absolute disgrace to your profession and to humanity in general. Lastly, my opinion is that you people should have saved yourselves the hundreds of thousands of dollars in dental school tuition and simply robbed people without the facade of a dental practice. read more

Warning to anyone who has ever been to Manhattan Dental Arts. I stopped going to Manhattan Dental Arts in 2013 and even had my files transferred to my current dentist's office back then. However, I just received an invoice for almost $200 dated February 2016 for unspecified services from a statement dated October 2015, which I never received. I called Manhattan Dental Arts to find out what the charges were for, especially since the last time I was there was back in 2013. The person who answered the phone first said that they got a new computer system which was sending out bills randomly (what???) but afterwards, she said it was actually for charges that were not completely covered by insurance--from back in 2013!!! This was the first time I have ever heard of this charge--three years later! Fortunately, the person who I dealt with understood the ridiculous nature of this bill and wrote it off so that I did not owe anything. If you have been to Manhattan Dental Arts even once, I strongly suggest you keep a good record of your services and insurance payments, as well as keep an eye on your credit reports. From reading the various Yelp reviews, Manhattan Dental Arts seem to have shady billing practices, and send bills out of the blue a year or more after the service date. read more

Unnecessary procedures! Avoid. I used to go here and liked it, but then I noticed that every time I went (which was often, bc they kept bringing me in for some procedure) they would find another thing wrong. I was paying a ton for far too many procedures. At one point I came in for a filling, they told me I need to schedule a followup for a different filling. When I came for the second filling, they filled a DIFFERENT tooth that they never mentioned even had a problem and was not what my appointment was for, and said I still need to come in for the original tooth. They had filled the tooth without my consent! I was furious, asked them to show me where in my dental records it noted that the tooth they filled was even a problem (it wasn't in my records, the doc said he "noticed it after I left the last time"). I requested a printout of all my records, left, and never came back. Good riddance. I don't know what's going on here, maybe they are doing unnecessary procedures or maybe they are aggressively treating issues more frequently than is necessary. But either way, not ONCE during my time there did they help me solve the problem or even ask the question: "why are you getting so many cavities?" They just kept filling em and charging me, instead of having a conversation to help me figure out what was going on. I was paying a lot and my teeth we no healthier for it than if I had not gone to the dentist at all. After I left this group and used a different dental company, I've done far fewer procedures and finally gotten to the root of the issue for where the cavities were coming from so I could prevent them in the first place. TLDR; Don't use them - they will just aggressively and proactively do procedure after procedure and charge you for it, instead of helping you actually have healthier teeth and oral care. read more

I went once to this office once, and am switching immediately and never going again, for multiple reasons. 1 - Their outrageous hypocritical cancellation fee. 2 - The way they push their whitening services on you by trying to make you feel bad about teeth. 3 - The unprofessional way they switched dentists on me (I made an appointment with one dentist and they switched it without telling me) Their offices are convenient to me so I made an appointment which they then had to reschedule (not easy for me because I then had to re-arrange child care I had set up). 1. When I got to the office, they then made me sign a form saying they would charge me (a huge amount) if I ever had to reschedule without giving them enough notice, which I found hypocritical. When I made a joke about it to the receptionist, ("Hey, do I get to charge YOU since YOU cancelled??" and laughed), she replied, "I'm only the messenger." Huh? 2. You also have to fill out a form and rate "How happy are you with your smile?". Stupid question. I think it is designed to make you feel bad about your smile so that they can play off that insecurity and sell you some teeth whitener. They even have a whole form that they ask you to fill out that details what you don't like about your smile. I refused to fill it out. After a 30 minute wait, I was finally getting some X-rays and a woman comes in and takes my picture in the chair. I'm not sure about you, but I don't exactly feel glamorous when I'm at the dentist, and I'm in no mood to have my picture taken. But it gets worse. They then gave me a brochure that had my picture on one side, and then a "new and improved" picture on the other: me with whiter teeth. It was insulting. They seem surprised when I said they could throw it away. 3. I made an appointment with a specific dentist (Dr. Carrell). After the X-rays, and after the cleaning, they just casually said that Dr. So and So (not Carrell) will be in to see you. What? That isn't who I made an appointment with. "Oh, she isn't available". When I complained that they need to AT LEAST TELL ME when they are switching my dentist, they said, "Well, you were just scheduled for a cleaning so we didn't think we had to". I'm currently trying to pick up my X-rays so that I can take them to a different practice, and they want to charge me $95! My advice is to avoid this practice. read more

Raspberry beret and Monday morning root canals don't mix. I sit in the waiting room listening to Prince when am escorted into a room where they really try to treat you like a queen. The dentist and I start the friendly, awkward banter that always precedes someone opening my mouth so wide it would suggest to others habitual promiscuity. From my Prince waiting room experience, the dentist tells me she went to an 80's themed party complete with a DJ flown in from LA. Who are these people? They must be loaded and a little out there given it was a celebration of people turning 40. So it began. Buzz saws, scrapers, little things that looked like push pins. I figured they were using my gums as a cork boards with a memo to never eat candy again. At one point, the hygienist tells us that she wants to go to a shooting range to see what a gun feels like. Get that blow torch away from me immediately! During any dental process, i feel i drool 100 times more than the average person. I think i know what drowning feels like with my basset hound like glands. I ponder if crossing my legs is good for my circulation and then decide I don't give a damn. Five hours and burning smells later, it's over. I get let up and begin to try talking. Me: Exactly how many things did you shove up there? Tiffani: 47 Me:One of them was definitely a glue gun Dirty Harry: that's right Me: so I'm bionic now, right? Debbie Gibson: hardly Me: how about facial recognition? GPS at the very least! Mad Max: nope Me: what the hell do I pay you people for? I paid them to tell my molar good game, thank you for playing, you are the weakest link. Goodbye. I have been coming to this practice for about a year and have had several procedures here. I have recently been seen by Dr. Goldberg, who is a new transplant to the office and an expert hand assisted by the always bubble and competent Deseree. I was in and out and painfree! The one piece of advise is ensure you see and agree to your treatment plan prior to having procedures if you are a new patient. The staff is happy to do this work pre-appointment so you are not surprised with a bill. Nelsy today was a pro at bringing me through, just walk in knowing your insurance benefits and costs of services and you will be bound to leave with a happy and healthy smile! read more

I was a patient at this dental office in the mid 2000's. I am still paying for and replacing all of their bad work. They don't know how to put crowns on. Dr. Leichtung himself can't put a crown on properly. This is very expensive and dangerous. You shouldn't feel any pain when you eat after a proper crown. The margins were left too large on 2 crowns resulting in bacteria growth, cavities under the crown, and eventual removal of the teeth. Dr. Leichtung should not be practicing dentistry. read more

With Manhattan Dental Arts as my dentist, I wish I could go to the dentist more often! I was in need of root canal, which I discovered late one night. I got online and searched out a dentist (endodontist) who took my insurance and who might be open on the weekend. Sure enough, Manhattan Dental Arts was in a great location, took my insurance and they actually had a dentist who had an appointment slot available on a Saturday! Unheard of. The first part of my treatment was by the amazing Dr. Daniel Jacobs. He was pain-free and brilliant in his work. You couldn't ask for a better dentist or all-around guy. The follow-up was with the incredible Dr. Eric Novison, who was also pain-free (I'm surprised I didn't get a separate novocaine bill -- these guys were so generous with it!) and he also did masterful work. What a talented artist. The entire office staff are just the kind of people you want to deal with when you walk in with tooth pain. They were easy to deal with and fun to be around. As for Drs. Jacobs and Novison -- bravo! I am now leaving my attitude-laden, over-priced dentist on Central Park West and making these guys my tooth protectors full-time. I look forward to going to the dentist as often as possible now (he said, smiling widely). read more

I have never had any issues coming to this dental office for regular cleanings and check-ups. The only thing would be some waiting time, but that seems to be the typical experience at most doctor's offices, and once you're in the exam room everything moves along smoothly. Dr. Carrel has always been courteous and performs thorough exams, and Ms. Benjamin's friendly attitude and cheery personality make cleanings almost enjoyable. The other day Ms. Barone also gave me a great cleaning, and you always leave with a little "goody bag" (tooth brush, tooth paste, floss). I can't say anything about their prices since I've mainly gone there for cleanings, which have been covered by insurance. They've never recommended that I have something out of the ordinary done, so my impression is that they're not in the business of squeezing money out of you (which have definitely happened to me elsewhere). Overall I find them to be competent, honest, and professional. read more

Be warned - there's a reason there are almost as many 1 stars as 5 stars if you look closer...there's a pattern of shady billing practices going on here... I had been going to Manhattan Dental Arts (for Dr Daniel Jacobs) for a few years now and recently discovered a pattern of overcharging me on my coinsurance vs what insurance said that I owed (almost $200 more). I thought it was just a one-off error but then found that they did it both times that I had work done beyond the regular check ups. When I first inquired about a refund, they said they would look into it but that I probably had x-rays that weren't covered. Odd considering they said they needed to call me back so that they'd have time to look up my account. Probably not a good sign that they already had an excuse when they had already acknowledged that they didn't have my account in front of them. They said they would call back me by the end of the week. No call ever came so I tried them again a week later. This time Rosa (who said she was the office manager responsible for billing matters) answered the phone and said that if I would email her the EOBs from Aetna, she would submit them for a refund with the company that handled their billing. She said it would take 2-3 weeks for a refund to process. I emailed her the EOBs and it's now been 6 weeks and the numerous times that I've left messages for Rosa (both by phone and email), she doesn't respond. I managed to get ahold of her once when she answered the phone instead of the receptionist and she said she would call up "the Refund dept" and call me back a few days later. Once again, no response. And now when I call for her, I'm always told that she's busy or not around. I offered to wait on hold for her once when told she was with another patient and was told that she's just too busy to speak with me...so probably never getting that refund...next steps - attorney general complaint I guess... UPDATE - after posting the above review on Yelp and FB in addition to Aetna calling them on my behalf, I finally received a refund about a month later. read more

From my first phone call to my initial visit walking through the door and greeted by Sylvia, to my cleaning, xrays with Julia, I knew I would be happy. I am here today 1 month later to let you know that I am so very happy! If you are reading my review I am honestly telling you to go for it. I have had my share of dentists in my past, to a point where I dreaded to go. I want to thank Doctor Liechtung for bringing the a smile back to my face. Not only is the doctors work impeccable in my standards, he is kind and caring and makes sure you are comfortable. I had my two front teeth veneered along with 1 crown. You could never tell, I am so happy you can see this in my new smile. The girls in the office are so kind and helpful. The entire office, everyone I see are happy and that makes a world of a difference, if you are happy where you work this says a lot. I came here for a general cleaning and whitening & would definitely recommend this place. The office was easy to get to from the train and very well kept and clean. I found the staff to be very friendly and I didn't have to wait very long to be seen which is always nice. The Hygienist and the Doctor were very professional and I found them very accommodating to my sensitive teeth! read more

I have experienced very good service from Dr. Friedman and Dr. VanMeter in the past. However, Latoya, the office manager, treated me unprofessionally back in May, 2019. She admitted she made a mistake in a previous quote for services (I was told I would pay $0 for a cleaning and checkup). When she realized her misquote, she should have called me rather than announcing the $325 charge when I arrived for my appointment. I wrote a letter of complaint to Dr. Marc Liechtung, the head of the practice, in May 2019, but I did not get a response. Maybe the letter never got to him. Or maybe he is not interested in retaining me as a patient. In any event, I am taking my business elsewhere; there are plenty of good dentists in NYC. read more

I was in a bad accident one Friday night that involved needing emergency dental work on my front two teeth. I don't want to go into graphic detail, but it was bad. Not having a regular dentist in New York, I called Manhattan Dental Arts on Saturday morning at 9:00 am and explained my situation. Dr. Goldberg was able to see me at noon, which is amazing in itself, but his work is even better. I arrived for my appointment a nervous wreck because I was worried about literally (and I do mean, literally) not having my two front teeth. After a a brief exam, Dr. Goldberg assured me that I would walk out that day with front teeth. And I did. Dr. Goldberg told me that I would need crowns and explained what they were and the exact steps he would take to complete them. My temporary crowns looked great and the permanent ones he put on two weeks later look completely natural. He had to reconstruct one of the front teeth to get an impression for the crown, and it looks completely and totally like my natural tooth. Most people have no idea my two front teeth are fake, and those who know only know because I've told them. Needless to say, I now have a dentist in New York. An added plus is that the entire staff is very friendly and professional. read more

Dr. Marc Leichtung is by far the worst dentist I've ever encountered - his bedside manner is deplorable. He will keep you waiting in the dentist chair for over 45 minutes (after a lengthy wait in the reception room), then he'll come in and look at your teeth for 2 minutes and walk out to tend to other patients without saying anything to you so you're left waiting in the chair again another 30 minutes and more with no idea if he's coming back or what's going on! Absolutely inexcusable. You feel like your just part of an assembly line at the Manhattan Dental Arts. I'll give this no stars if I could Oh and I agree with the earlier review from Chris K, if you voice the slightest displeasure or complaint, Leichtung gets super aggressive and hostile and starts to threaten you. Makes you think that he's so defensive for a reason. A really top notch dentist cares about his patients and always wants to improve the quality of his practice, but with Leichtung it seems to be all about his ego. Stay far away from this place if you want genuine, caring service - you will not find it with Leichtung. read more

Really the purpose of you advertising is to find new patients. Well, after coming to the office with the special I told them as soon as I walked in that I had a cavity and needed it filled, again I told the hygienist. Again told the dentist. After the cleaning I was told to sit elsewhere as they needed the chair. I was informed by the receptionist sorry we have no time to do your filling. Really, the dentist could not have told this to or said it would be a little longer as he had an appointment, but he was too busy. How much did it cost you to get a new patient and in one hour you got one and then I left with such a bad taste. No I would not be returning. I am not even complaining that the office was not even open upon my arrival no one was there except the temporary hygienists-another red flag. Is it so impossible to find professionals in this field. You know the saying, "you get what you pay for" this is like a bakery take a number and get out, before all of this I was booking a deep cleaning with the perio dentist. NOT NOW. Avoid. Tried to oversell me unnecessary procedures. Was asked to sign a treatment plan which includes stuff I already told them I wont be doing, because I know its unnecessary. Convincing me with a "payment plan" doesn't help either, I can pay for it myself, but as a lawyer pls don't bullshit me by requesting for my signature on a "treatment plan" I clearly don't approve of, just so that I can get an appointment for the part I did approve of. Feeling bad for whoever would have put their signature there because of the pressure and not knowing the law. You lost a good customer who would be happy to pay good money for good service. I am wondering if anyone has ever reported this Dental institution. I've been trying to get my records for almost a year. I was in an accident which lead to having my teeth pulled out and having veneers put it. They didn't go thru the plan except it would cost over $9000.00. My insurance from sent a check to them but it was delayed due to paperwork from the accident. So I then had my sister co-sign for Care core in the amount of $4000 to start the work. The office took it upon themselves to request another $4000 which was not authorized. Then they received the 10,000.00. To date they received 18,000 from me. My precious dentist was Dr. Parr who was a great dentist but now they won't even give me my records. I have the financing company suing my sister for the full $8000.00. I want to know if anyone has similar trouble and if they ever reported the dental firm for fraud or anything else. Please feel free to contact me with any assistance you maybe able to provide, I could use all the advise I can get. So now Dr. Parr has left the practice and I've moved to NJ. But before these events, I was ready to take off. Again, it comes down to office management. On my last check-up, I came in and said I had an appointment with Dr. Parr to which I was told that he wasn't working. Excuse me? They then found my appointment, but I don't understand if when scheduling months in advance they didn't tell me what days he was working. Now that he's left I can see they just wanted me to meet with the newer lady. My cleaning, excellent. The other dentist, I don't know her name, was great. I had two cavities and made an appointment and made sure it was with Dr. Parr. Skip forward a few weeks, I get my fillings done and after I tell Dr. Parr that I'd won a FB/Twitter promotion of teeth whitening. Turns out this is for the in office whitening and my teeth are way too sensitive for that. When I went to speak with the receptionist I asked, at Dr. P's suggestion, if I could use the trays instead. There was some back and forth and in the end she said it would be okay. I make the appointment to have to molds done. Getting those molds was the most painful dental experience I've ever had! I've had braces, retainers, and a night guard made so I'm not new to this procedure. The trays for the molds were too tight and she over-filled them so it was hard to breathe. After it was done I clean up and make my appointment for two weeks later to pick up my trays. That "appointment" was complete crap show. I get there early, as usual, and wait. And wait. Finally 20 minutes past my appointment I get taken back. And wait. Another 15 minutes and the girl comes in with the stuff to make trays! I say I'm picking them up and she looks confused and goes to find out what's going on. Still I keep waiting. Then they put me back in the waiting room. Over and hour past my appointment I'm told they found my trays but they need to be trimmed. Fine. At this point I'm fuming since I have a calculus test the next day and am wasting time. Another 30 minutes goes by and then I'm told that the drill or whatever to trim the trays is broken. Thanks for wasting 2 hours of my life! The receptionist was pissed as well, but that still doesn't change anything. Then when I get home, I'm on Facebook and see they post Dr. Parr's farewell letter. I'm all for social media, but still believe somethings should be handled the old fashioned way. Several weeks later I pick up trays, they don't give me instructions and on my first use nearly destroy my gums. Thanks to You Tube, i got the instructions I needed. This office has QUICKLY gone down the toilet. If I hadn't moved, I would be looking for another practice. The staff is nice enough, but who cares about nice when your time is wasted? read more

I've been meaning to write this review for some time now. I had a Snap-On Smile created for me by the inventor, Dr. Marc Liechtung, who practices at this establishment. At the time I had this work done I was living in D.C. and despite the fact that I could have this device made by a local doctor, I decided to make the trip to Manhattan so I could have the original creator do the work. From what I remember, the practice is a nice office and everybody I encountered was professional and kind. Dr. Liechtung was very nice to me and answered all my questions. I was only interested in getting the top portion fitted for the device and he agreed that the lower portion was not needed. A molding of my top teeth was created and I returned to Manhattan a few weeks later to try on and leave with my new Snap-On Smile. Now, a quick backstory. I cracked a front top tooth when I was 8 years old during gym class one day and a bonding was done. The bonding was fine but over time it became discolored and I was really not happy with my smile. I knew that a new bonding, a veneer, or a crown were all options. For some reason, I decided a Snap-On Smile would be the rest route to take. Back to Dr. Liechtung. I returned a few weeks later and the Snap-On Smile created for me was too tight and uncomfortable. Dr. Liechtung made some adjustments on the spot and everything fit pretty well. It was still a tight fit, but I was not uncomfortable. And my smile looked amazing. I should also mention that the Doctor will help you choose the right shade for your teeth. There are many and I picked something not too white as I did not want it to look unnatural. My family and friends told me that my Snap-On Smile looked very natural. Now, the bad news. There are essentially two huge flaws to the Snap-On Smile. One, it's very uncomfortable to remove. Placing it on my teeth was no big deal but removing it always felt unnatural. I followed the directions and it never came easy. This isn't like contact lenses where you get good at it. It just never felt comfortable to remove. Two, despite what anyone says, eating with this device is essentially not possible. Why does this matter? Well you need to determine if you want to wear this device during meals or not. I simply don't think you'll feel comfortable chewing food with plastic covering 6 to 8 of your teeth. The Snap-On Smile works just fine if you want to wear it in intervals. For example a job in sales where you won't be having meals with clients. But if you want to have a nice smile all the time, I strongly recommend against the Snap-On Smile. There are much better alternatives. What did I end up doing? What I should have done in the first place. After a month with the Snap-On Smile I threw it in the garbage. I ended up having a new bonding placed on my originally bonded tooth. It looks 1000x better than my original bonding and cost me $650. The Snap-On Smile set me back $1,400. Yeah, ouch. For close to that much money I could have had a crown or veneer created. Every case is different. Veneers and crowns are expensive. But a much better choice than a piece of plastic that covers your teeth. If you have an issue with one tooth, than I suggest getting it bonded. If it's several teeth, save up some money and get veneers or crowns. But a piece of plastic that covers your teeth? It just isn't a good option for many. One last thing. I think a big flaw with the Snap-On Smile is the plastic. It's hard. I think a soft plastic or other material would allow for a more natural feel in your mouth and an easier device to remove from your teeth. I really can't stress enough how awkward it feels to remove a Snap-On Smile from your teeth. I think Dr. Liechtung is a nice man and most likely a great dentist. But personally I don't recommend the Snap-On Smile. read more

I've been going here for 4 (maybe 5) years having regular 6 mo cleanings and some additional dental work. I didn't feel the need to review the office as it was always just fine. However, I went in this week for my regular cleaning and got the fairly new Karina as my hygienist. She was fantastic. Need a cleaning? Ask for her. Thorough, gentle, funny... about as good as it gets. read more
