Come for the food and service. Perhaps the best Gyro I've ever had. Fries were excellent approaching Belgian quality. Portions were ample and prices appropriate. Menu is large with a surprising plethora of seafood options. Decor and exterior maintenance are nothing to write home about but do try the food! Two thumbs up and would return.

I can't understate how amazing this place is. It's in an odd part of town but is absolutely worth the drive. The menu is super expansive and everything is amazingly priced for the quality of the food. I've been here twice now, and both times got the #1 gyro combo. It comes with fries and a massive gyro for only $12. I couldn't believe the price for the portion size, but i'm not complaining at all. The meat was extremely tender and well seasoned, and the fries also had a seasoning which was great. It's the best greek food i've had in my 5 years in gainesville and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Come on to the NW side of town and try Manhattan Gyros!! Today my family and I tried the Lamb Gyro Meal, Philly Cheesesteak Meal, Chicken Tender Meal and the Wing Meal. At first glance this restaurant caught my eye from the street view and had to give it a try. We dined inside and the dining area was clean and cashier was kind. The food is made-to-order and definitely gave the Coney Island vibes. I will visit here soon.

My wife and I was on Main Street and decided to try this place out. It was on my list for a while and I finally got the chance to try the food. The food was great. I can tell they made everything fresh and the service was excellent. I'll have to come back and try something new next time.

The chicken gyro is amazing... it almost transmutes me back to a distant memory from abroad. So yummy. An order of fries are a must as well!

The Food tastes amazing! The staff was friendly and helpful with my order. It is an older building and establishment, but the food is great.

As other reviews mentioned, it's similar to a chipotle in ordering/style - but with a fresh, Mediterranean twist! There is no parking though, so you'll have to find a paid spot nearby or walk. They have a mix of indoor and outdoor seating, and it may be busy depending on the time. Additionally a bowl starts at $11 and prices go up from there. It can be a pricier lunch spot depending on what you order and especially if you add a side of pita or a drink. In my bowl I added tzatziki, hummus, and crazy feta spread & their yogurt dill dressing. My favorite topping they had was the fiery broccoli. I loved it!

The location is prime and I love grabbing lunch here during the week. It is kept fairly clean and they usually don't run out of things. The service is friendly as well. There have been a couple of instances where I haven't had to pay an up-charge for steak or avocado. One time I wasn't even charged for my bowl at the checkout. This is a pretty standard Cava location, with similar (if not the same) menus as all their other locations. Some of my favorites are the customized greens and grains bowls as well as the pita chips as of late! I do enjoy coming here and look forward to more visits.

I was reminiscing about a sandwich I got and decided to order some lunch from here . I ordered a California turkey croissant but subbed for gluten free Kaiser roll. I also ordered the Greek salad. The prices and portions can't be beat. I got it for delivery from DoorDash and the ingredients and bread were so fresh. I was a little hesitant because when I order sandwiches or wraps from other places for delivery they arrive soggy but I was pleasantly surprised because everything was intact. I'm picky with deli meat since I just can't stand some after taste of certain deli meats but I don't know how to explain it the turkey and cheese tasted "clean" . You were able to taste every topping on the sandwich separately and together it just came together perfectly. It was a hefty portion too looking like a real life healthy krabby patty. I haven't tried the salad since I got so full from the sandwich but even my coworker when she saw it in the fridge said it looked amazing. I can't wait to have it for dinner and hoping I get the chance to come in and try other items on their menu. I might hit the beach one of these days and I sure wish I could take a couple of sammies from here so I might consider it.

updated review here…read more. So glad to see this restaurant doing so well, their menu has grown from when we last ate here. We met some friends here for dinner and they love it.from the friendly attentive staff, the atmosphere of the restaurant is very unique , and i always find something new on the walls to stare at or at least ask about or take a photo of. We opted to try the pizza we got a prosciutto pizzs and the athena pizza Both were very rich in taste and ingredients. We all ended up bringing some leftovers home. Definietely worth the visit!! And its in my neighborhood, making it that much more convenient.

We ordered several pizzas (1 garlic 16", 1 two-topping 12" with prosciutto + roasted garlic, 1 Hawaiian 12", 1 pita pizza with ham) plus ravioli fritti appetizer and steak pesto. Pizzas were excellent , steak was soft / medium well as I requested, and ravioli was deliciously crunchy - a crowd pleaser. The others had never tried Scuola before and now they'll all be back for the great food , friendly service, as well as chill ambiance of the place. Highly recommend visiting during lunch time since it's not too crowded and still quiet enough to hear one another at a table. The owner stopped by our table before we left and graciously offered to take a photo for us so thank you for that. Always a pleasure to meet the management. Pricing was fair considering the large portions and quality of the food. We had separate checks so our share of the food (including a to go order of Chicken Souvlaki and Kokkinisto!) was about $125 with generous tip. Free parking lot outside the restaurant is shared but there were still many spots to choose from. We'll certainly be back again ^_^ !!

Come and enjoy a falafel!" It was 1984, I worked at the Florida Bookstore and was sitting out back in the courtyard behind Chaucer's during my lunch break. That's when I heard those words. It was a smiling man sticking his head out of a kitchen window behind Cafe Gardens, which shared the courtyard with Chaucer's. "...enjoy a falafel!" "A flawhatel?" I asked. The man was Ghassan Chehab, and after serving me my first ever falafel, I ate there nearly every day. He soon moved out of the small shared-kitchen window to the famous 13th and University location, next to Burrito Brothers and Goerings Book Center - which I eventually moved to myself - and a block from my house. Falafel sandwich, spinach pie, strawberry-banana smoothie, and complimentary baklava - that was my go-to meal, always accompanied by great conversation with Ghassan. I left Gainesville in 1992 and The King moved out to Butler Plaza. I returned there a number of years later and was not only delighted to see the place still existed, but it was as good as ever! Ghassan was no longer there in person, but he certainly was in spirit. I continue to eat there whenever I pass anywhere near Gainesville, and always take home a bundle full of the falafel and pies. In fact, I'm actually writing this review with the taste of that falafel and spinach pie in mouth right now because I recently made one such trip. My friends, go eat a falafel at Falafel King!
