I've lived in Florence for 8 months now and have gone here 3 times. I originally went here because they claim to do "dip" nails. The dip is only for the base and then they finish it with gel, which I was have avoided for years as I do not want the skin exposure to the UV light. The first manicure was good, not great, but I liked the atmosphere of the salon. It was definitely priced on the higher side, especially compared to US pricing. The returned a month or so later for another manicure and simply got the gel manicure. It last about 2 weeks before starting to chip, which I found unusual. I decided to do my own manicures because I didn't want to continue UV exposure for a gel manicure. So I finally went back last week, after the holidays, to get a "dip" manicure once again, to help protect my nails and keep them strong. I guess I had forgotten they do not do a true dip manicure with powder for the color coat, only the base, using gel and UV for the color coat. Literally within 24 hours one of my nails chipped. And I am not hard on my nails. I decided I would not go back after paying €80. No fill, no artificial nails - just base coat and gel color. And then, two days later, another nail chipped. Maybe it was the nail tech, but I will not return. I expect more out of a salon that charges this kind of pricing. read more

BEST NAIL SALON IN FLORENCE! I am infinitely thankful to my workout studio (The22) for recommending this place to me. As a study abroad student it was so important for me to find a place to keep my nails looking great while I am away from home for 5 months. The staff is so kind, so attentive, and so good at their job! They make sure to get the length, shape, and color just the way I like it- not letting me leave until I'm happy. They are the only nail salon I have seen to find that does SNS (dip powder) which is what I always use back at home. Their salon is always clean and very nicely decimated. They require appointments which you can make by calling their store or through WhatsApp (they are VERY responsive) which I believe is posted on their website. I will be very sad to leave this place when my program ends but I would love to recommend it to family and friends and will definitely be back to visit! read more

Needed a manicure while on vacation in Florence Italy. Lucky to get an appointment during the busy summer season. Called for an appointment and Maniboo called on the day of appointment to confirm. The facility is clean and attractive with pink walls and lavender couches and work stations. They were on time and my OPI manicure was perfect. Though my technician did not speak English there is staff there that do. Incredible! I walked in without on appointment on one of the busiest days of the week - Sunday. Yes, open Sundays! The helpful staff were knowledgable, helpful, classy, kind and efficient. They do speak English but it's much more fun to murder Italian and make it a good time for everyone! They CAN do French manicure with gel polish! And they do it very well. It's also amazingly affordable. The receptionist is accommodating and also funny. They couldn't take me right away, but I came back an hour later and was taken care of immediately. If you want something special - like French gel- it's best to make an appointment, but like I said, they fit me in on their very busy day. The place was comfortable and CLEAN. Have you ever wondered if those manicure tools sitting in alcohol in many shops have ever been so much as wiped off? No worries here, as each set of tools comes packaged from the autoclave, like any good tattoo shop! Fast, amicable service and wonderful people. They were so friendly and kind, they knew exactly how to remove my gel from the states, and quite honestly gave me the best manicure I have ever had. She was so meticulous and paid attention to every detail from cuticles to polish. What was most impressive was that I walked in, they were booked, but still managed to find a way to do my nails. They were so amazing!!! For gel removal, nail care, and gel polish application it cost €50. It wasn't the quickest service I experienced, but it was well worth any waiting. I actually made an appointment for gel nails. The price for a gel set is 130 € at this salon, I don't know in what world that price is justified. I'm German and the usual price I pay back home is 35 €. I ended up just getting a manicure for 22 €. I wanted to get baby blue french nails, which they told me they couldn't do, because my nails were too short. After my nails were done, the girl who did them told me to wait 10 minutes for them to dry, more than 10 minutes past and she walked out the salon for her lunch break, without saying anything to me. It's a beautiful salon, the prices just don't fit the service and the expected professionalism. read more

It is high-time that Italy got its head together regarding nail salons and finally we have something decent in Florence. Maniboo is my idea of heaven, just walking in you feel relaxed, this is not some service they offer on the side but their bread and butter. Walking in, there are plenty of spots to get your nails done, they also have real pedicure chairs. I typically get a semi-permanent French manicure and they always do an excellent job, mine typically lasts around 3 weeks. What I also can appreciate is their 'flash ' manicure, only 12 euros and a great option in between your semi-permanent sessions. They also offer additional services, I got my eyebrows waves recently and they did a wonderful job. It costs from 7-12 euros and they you are done in a flash, yet another reason to come here regularly. I recommend this place to everyone I truly don't know of another spot in town that even comes to close to this. Reservations are generally recommended. read more

They did a decent job...nothing at all special but fine, and when I checked out it was NINETY EUROS! Come on, really? I asked the woman at check out why it was so much. When in Florence and nails need to be done - this is the place to go! Maniboo is a really cute nail salon located close to Piazza della Trinita (Downtown Florence). The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the service I received was impeccable. The place itself is clean, comfortable and elegantly furnished. They offer a vast amount of colors to choose from and they use fresh upscale products. I came here last night as a first-timer for a mani and pedi, both with a semi-permanent nail polish. I had an amazing experience here from start to finish. So I'm here to say that the service I received was the BEST one I ever had in all Florence. Absolutely worth every single penny!!! Lovely clean comfortable salon with lots of colours to choose from and friendly staff. I would have rated it much higher but, while she was clipping my cuticles yesterday the young lady cut the same finger on both hands quite badly. The parts that were cut were nowhere near the cuticles either so I can't understand why this happened (see picture). They are both really painful and look worse than pictured today! It was also quite expensive at €60 compared to what I usually pay (although being on holiday I expect that to a degree). Hopefully it will last as long as my usual gel.... time will tell. read more

No gel manicure can compare to the ones back at home. Coming from NYC, I knew I was in for a disappointment. Maniboo was the second nail salon I visited at Florence. For a regular, boring, plain old color gel mani, it was definitely overpriced! 40euros for a plain gel mani, no design, no nothing. For the same price, I could've gotten a full glam, blinged out gel manicure that lasts 4 weeks back at home. On top of the high price, Maniboo's gel mani didn't last me more than 5 days. I already started chipping at the 5th day and I'm not used to this kind of quality so I am extremely disappointed. For such a high price for something so simple, I expected much more. But Maniboo does have very cute decor and a nice ambience. Regardless, I don't think I will be returning- I hope to find a much better nail salon in Florence. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. I went in to have my gel taken off and for a manicure. They looked at it and told me it would be 30 euros, which was the advertised price for manicure (20 euros) and then some. I assumed the additional 10 was to get my old polish taken off. On top of making three of my cuticles bleed, they didn't give me a manicure. She was very careful to ask what I wanted and if I liked the shape etc as she went along. They do not use power drills only hand buff and file. Gentle. I had gel removal, mani and new gel. Eyebrow waxing in Italy is so hard to come by and I needed to find a go-to place during my semester abroad. I walked-in and got an appointment for an hour later which was fine. The woman told me it was 20 euro for a clean up which was really ridiculous to me but I was desperate to get them done. I have relatively thin eyebrows to begin with, but the woman told me she couldn't wax them and shape them, so she just plucked them instead and STILL charged me 20 euro for it. I literally could've done this myself at home. No matter what state my eyebrows are in back in the states, no one has ever said anything about being unable to wax them so I found that extremely strange. Can't speak for the manicure/pedicure services here because I only got my eyebrows done. The women that work there are relatively friendly though. read more

I read great reviews on this place. I needed my nails done for an upcoming event. I've never been the best at taking care of my nails, they were incredibly short (nonexistent) and unkept. Naturally prior to my appointment I collected pictures from Pinterest of what I wanted (medium length oval acrylic nails). The woman working on my nails was amazing. My nails were so bad that they needed a treatment before hand. She was patient and took every measure to make sure my nails would be durable. She was able to look at the Pinterest photo and magically turn it into my nails. She made them look natural, even with the desired shape and length. I absolutely love how they turned out! The place itself is cute and clean. It's located in a good part of the city and easy to find. The only minor issue I had was they were late seeing me even with an appointment. Be advised to call ahead a reserve, and they are usually running a bit late so expect to wait a bit. I called and they gave me an appointment right away. Gotta say it was beyond an amazing manicure !! Being from Miami I am super picky and the girl was AMAZING!!! Excellent job citing cuticles. Only thing is it was a bit pricey .... I paid for just a gel mani what I pay for mani / pedi in Miami. But it was well worth it because it really was an amazing manicure. I stumbled upon this place while wandering the streets of Florence and I'm glad I did. I was in need of a polish change and this was a good find. For a polish change, it's €8, which seems to be the going rate here. The salon is really nice - posh and clean. The staff is Italian but the manager speaks English and is very helpful. They have OPI colors and a wide range of them. You can get a walk-in appointment fairly easily. The only issue is that they don't have drying machines, so plan on staying there for awhile. I had a very bad experience here this summer. After checking Maniboo's services and price list on their website I called and made an appointment for the "flash pedicure." 20 Euro would get me a "cleaning, filing, massage with moisturizing cream and nail polish application." Perfect! Well, not really. The young girl who worked on me (who appeared in no way to be a professional manicurist) proceeded to give me a simple polish change! No cleaning, no filing, no moisturizing cream. When I politely questioned this, she reluctantly did a little (poorly executed) filing and then hastily (and again very poorly) applied the toe nail polish. Honestly, I could've done better myself and was so disappointed. My "pedicure" looked awful. When I went to pay, I expressed my disappointment to the young lady who took the money and appeared to be in charge. I asked why I didn't receive the "flash pedcure" as it was described on their website. She simply shrugged and said they "don't do that anymore." The cleaning, filing and massage with moisturizing cream was no longer included. I wondered why the website had not been updated to reflect this. Had I known I would have gone elsewhere (there ARE many other choices in Florence now). She had no answer, but agreed that it SHOULD have been updated. I suggested that under the circumstances I should just be charged for a polish change (since that's essentially what I got, and not even a good one), which is listed as 8 Euro on their website. She refused and insisted I pay the full 20 Euro in spite of the discrepancy in the website description and what one actually receives. She did say, however, that she would let the owner know that the website needed to be updated (you would think they would already know this). Now here it is over four months later and I see they still have the same description, same price for the "flash pedicure" that is actually just a polish change. Lame. read more

Maniboo is a scam. Do not waste your money. They were extremely rude to me during my treatment (circled around and laughed at me, still unsure why). Also, my technician filed my nail done so much that when I placed it under the light it burned and I would physically tear up. This one completed 10x (doing more than one finger at a time was apparently not possible). I made it extremely clear I need to be out by a certain time, but instead I ran over 30 minutes. Because of this I was in a rush and put my card down for whatever amount. I checked the receipt later and was charge 130 euros for my acrylic set. When I emailed in a kind manner later I thought there was a mistake, I received a response basically shutting me down for doubting the skill of the technician and that "everyone else raves about their experiences." My friends who have also been to Maniboo agree that it is an unpleasant and unnecessarily expensive experience. 10/10 do NOT recommend. read more
