This store was not at all what I expected it to be. I thought there would be a display of available bakery goods to choose from. Instead it was a Filipino bodega with a few aisles of grocery products, a cooler with frozen food flanking one side, a window at the back to order hot foods & a table at the front for sitting or eating. With respect to bakery goods, there was one almost empty stand at the front of an aisle with a few bags of Pan de Coco. I had called the night before & asked about Ube Purple Bread. She said that she was baking more the following day & would save a bag for me. What they brought out was a bag of 6 rolls with an Ube filling inside. It was tasty but not purple bread. My friend asked about Pandesal. They brought a bag from the back that were larger rolls. She should have asked for Ube Pandesal. These were tasty & soft. But they had no Ube filling inside & were more like a large dinner roll. It would have been nice to see what we were buying before the purchase. Asking if they had a menu, I was told that they eventually would. She was still trying to decide what to put on the menu. I'm not sure I'll return until choices are available. And please, give us a display of the baked goods. Even putting them bagged in the almost empty display stand would help. The store is in a shopping center on the west side of E. Little Creek Road. It is easily accessible for those of us who live in the Shore Drive corridor. The outside is tasteful & well maintained. The inside is definitely a bodega feel. read more

They can improve by having food available, they don't cook any more after they run out. Went there at noon for lunch, no food said they sold out, what kind of food service is that? No food at lunchtime? Even the bread they make sold out not making any more today, lousy business practice, don't waste your time. read more

I live in Okinawa, Japan and travel to the Philippines a couple times per year. I have fallen in love with Filipino food, so much so that I look for it when I travel to other countries and back to the United States. I have been craving Pandesal and was happy to see the Manila Bread House in Norfolk, VA. While they were already sold out of the other menu items I was able to get a bag of pandesal hot out of the oven. I had a roll out of the bag before I even got back to my car. Sooo good!!! As an aside, if ypu are looking for lumpia they sell it by the bag, pre-rolled and cooled (not frozen). I'll be back during the week for lunch. read more

This place is a childhood favorite of mine, and I can't have any other pandesal (even after moving away). The owner Joe and his family are very kind and have become family friends. If you want to get pandesal (esp if you're ordering more than a dozen) we recommend calling to order a day or 2 ahead so they can bake them fresh for you! Very small store with Filipino foods. Pricey items with limited choices. A couple freezers were empty. Hardly any bread. Maybe two choices. My mom and I were thrown off cause we were expecting it to be a "bread" store with a ton of options but it was the complete opposite. I wanted some good lumpia and Pancit and decided to give this place a call. The man was very friendly and asked what time did I want it. When I got there he was finishing up my food. it's a cute little Filipino convenient store but it had a funny smell to it. He had a frozen lumpia in the freezer at very inexpensive price. I'm happy I didnt let the smell run me out because the food was AMAZING!!!! I'll definitely go back!!! read more

The hours were wrong, i drove so far only to find out they were closed. how dare yall.

Ended up going to this place just to get some Pan De Sal bread because Lumpia House is closed now :-( Walked in as they where putting out freshly baked goods. (Oh the need for a Smell App is overdue). My wife asked about the Lumpia House as we told what was going on with them. He then said that if we bought a bag of lumpia he would fry it for us. AWSOME!!! bought a bag of 50 Chicken Lumpia and a hot bag of Pan De Sal. Ate about a dozen HOT Lumpia and some bread before we took the rest home. Will be back soon for some whole fried fish soon which smells so so good from the back. read more

Unfortunately, expectations of this place were very different of my actual experience. I drove here expecting more of a selection of food, but nothing was available but pan de sal. Normally places like this carry ube bread, bibinka, puto, Turon and other things that can be premade and ready to sell. The pan de sal is okay. It's not AMAZING but it's good. The bread was a little on the dry side, but I threw it in the toaster and slapped on some butter which made it better. read more

This store is awesome! It's a small market filled with Filipino goodness! I stopped by to pick up some treats before visiting my family. I briefly spoke to the kind owner. I obsoletely love , love this place! Is a small little place in a shopping center, but these are the best places to go too. You must try the Pan de Sal , ask for it to be warm . It will just melt in your mouth. The sweet plantain is just wonderful and you'll want to eat more than one . The other thing about this place is that is also a small supermarket, it offers quite a few good choices not found in your typical supermarkets. We were taking a walk one day and decided to stop and find out what good things we could find inside. We walked around the small store and noticed that they had some freshly-made lumpia in a refrigerator. The owner told us that they would cook it for us and we could pick it up hot and fresh in a few minutes. It was some of the best I've ever had and the owner was very professional and friendly. A friend recommended this place because I love bread and told me to try "pan de sal" and was kind of worry that it might not be sweet since in Spanish it means bread of salt lol but to my surprise it was sweet and delicious also got pan de coco which is my favorite now, and lumpia. I'm glad a found a place to spoil myself lol wish I found this place sooner since I'll be transferring this year. Out of the filipino places I go to this the one that makes me feel close to home. Authentic filipino food. Love the fact the owner is customer friendly and carters to her customers. Everytime I come in to shop I am always greeted and carter to. And best of all the quality of food is the best. I definitely come here all the time. Especially for the fresh made hot Pan de Sal.
