I live in Okinawa, Japan and travel to the Philippines a couple times per year. I have fallen in love with Filipino food, so much so that I look for it when I travel to other countries and back to the United States. I have been craving Pandesal and was happy to see the Manila Bread House in Norfolk, VA. While they were already sold out of the other menu items I was able to get a bag of pandesal hot out of the oven. I had a roll out of the bag before I even got back to my car. Sooo good!!! As an aside, if ypu are looking for lumpia they sell it by the bag, pre-rolled and cooled (not frozen). I'll be back during the week for lunch.

I wanted some good lumpia and Pancit and decided to give this place a call. The man was very friendly and asked what time did I want it. When I got there he was finishing up my food. it's a cute little Filipino convenient store but it had a funny smell to it. He had a frozen lumpia in the freezer at very inexpensive price. I'm happy I didnt let the smell run me out because the food was AMAZING!!!! I'll definitely go back!!!

Ended up going to this place just to get some Pan De Sal bread because Lumpia House is closed now :-( Walked in as they where putting out freshly baked goods. (Oh the need for a Smell App is overdue). My wife asked about the Lumpia House as we told what was going on with them. He then said that if we bought a bag of lumpia he would fry it for us. AWSOME!!! bought a bag of 50 Chicken Lumpia and a hot bag of Pan De Sal. Ate about a dozen HOT Lumpia and some bread before we took the rest home. Will be back soon for some whole fried fish soon which smells so so good from the back.

This is just delicious, gotta try it. Sweet plantain at its finest.

I obsoletely love , love this place! Is a small little place in a shopping center, but these are the best places to go too. You must try the Pan de Sal , ask for it to be warm . It will just melt in your mouth. The sweet plantain is just wonderful and you'll want to eat more than one . The other thing about this place is that is also a small supermarket, it offers quite a few good choices not found in your typical supermarkets. As far as the service, you will leave with a smile on your face. Very professional and friendly. You won't regret stopping here .

I'm giving this place a 5 star rating due to the fact that the owner is super nice and they seem to have the best pandesal so far.

We got the Ube Loaded Cake, Ube Cream Puff, Ube Fatty Cookies, and Ube Blondie. Everything was amazing and, next time, we will definitely get more. Our favorite was the Ube Loaded Cake. While there…read moreis no shortage of great filipino food in NYC, this place does something quite special which is hard to find - merging authentic filipino flavors in a well-crafted, delicious and new way. Everything I've had here is delicious, but here are some of my favorites: UBE BLONDIES *** Probably one of their most signature items that stays on the menu season to season, this crumbly, satisfyingly dense, soft baked good with that nice punch of ube flavor will really have you coming back for more. The frosting glaze is just perfect, adding that sweetness that carries the ube flavor really nicely. The texture is just soooo satisfying, you can just tell when you cut your fork through it that it has this airy, yet dense and crumbly texture. TURON FRITTER Kind of like an apple fritter, but oh so crumbly, delicious, bright, and soft on the inside. Also had their brown sugar boba pudding cup when it came out, and it was really good; the tapioca actually blended quite nicely and was chewy and fresh, which means you're not stuck chewing it forever. Definitely on the sweeter side, but brown sugar items tend to be that way.

The Monte Cristo is also a really unique take on lumpia, and absolutely delicious. Everything is just so fresh and crispy there. Nothing beats that crispy crunch of biting into a fresh hot lumpia, and they really get that at this place! Since then, my family and I have been back a few times. The concept is creative, and the quality is definitely there. The lumpia is fresh, crispy, and well-made, and I appreciate the variety they offer. It's a fun way to experience different flavor combinations and put a unique spin on a Filipino classic. That said, while I enjoy many of the specialty flavors, I still find myself preferring traditional lumpia. That's more a matter of personal taste than a criticism of the food itself. The fusion flavors are good and worth trying, especially if you're looking for something different. The staff has always been friendly, and the overall experience has been positive every time we've visited. If you're a lumpia fan, it's definitely worth checking out. Even if you end up like me and still prefer the original, you'll probably find a few new favorites along the way.

They didn't have a menu posted, so I was given one when I asked. The food is cafeteria style where your plate is made in front of you. They had several options like fish, pork belly, menudo, lumpia, pancit, rice, sisig, and etc. They also had desserts, chips, turon, and drinks. I chose menudo, pancit, pork belly, and lumpia with a side of sauce for about $15. The prices seemed pretty reasonable. The portions were decent also. The menudo was flavorful and filling the meat was tender but there were a few pieces with fat. The pancit was tasty. It wasn't heavy on vegetables, I wish there were more. The pork belly was crispy and I liked it, but a few pieces were over cooked and had an awkward burnt old flavor. I can't really explain it. But the taste caught me off guard. I enjoyed the lumpia. They had beef inside and went good with the sauce. Their sweet chili sauce is yellow, not like most that are orangeish red. But it was good. The staff was busy. They didn't really talk much, but were nice. They also have a banquet room for private events. I do like their Filipino food more than some other places in the area. Definitely check them out!!
