Had this spot waiting on my list to try! So glad to finally have the opportunity to do so on a beautiful Saturday Morning. We ordered: Short rib Breakfast sandwich with an over easy egg and provolone cheese- This was just delicious!!!! The short rib was insanely juicy and filled with flavor then paired with the breakfast essentials, made for the perfect bite everytime! BYOS(Jalapeño Sourdough bagel, over easy egg, Bacon, Toasted hash brown and american cheese.)- There was not a crumb left. If that told you enough! Rose and Toasted Marshmallow Oat milk Latte- The coffee here comes in a fairly tall cup so that was an unexpected surprise! The flavors i got gave a slight floral and sweet taste to the coffee which was pleasant, but nothing exceptional. Brown Sugar Toasted Marshmallow Almond milk Latte- Barista recommended flavor mixture which also didn't disappoint!

Started my morning off right with a breakfast burrito that was hearty, filling, and genuinely satisfying -- with a hash brown tucked right inside, which was a nice touch. Paired it with an iced vanilla chai latte and took it all outside to enjoy in the sun. Hard to think of a better way to kick off the day. My order was quick and the cashier was friendly. Cute & fun. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a solid breakfast spot.

Such a cute bagel/sandwich place! It's located in the very fun colonial city area of norfolk, and the curb appeal is certainly there. The staff were all very nice, and the service was fast! The inside is also very modern and clean, with an upstairs I wasn't able to explore. I got a build your own bagel sandwich: Whole wheat everything bagel, pastrami, pepper jack cheese, avocado, tomato, and lettuce. The first bite was a perfect salty & savory experience. I also loved that the avocado was mashed instead of whole slices. Over all, a really good bagel! I just wish it was bigger, so I could have more to enjoy!! I also grabbed a carrot cake cookie. I'll update my review when I have it later today!

I thought this was diamond in the rough. The location and overall atmosphere was accommodating and welcoming. There was plenty of seating on the inside, even despite there being a line. And I really enjoyed that there was an outdoor option for when it's really nice outside. I thought for the price and taste. The food was delicious. I thought that you could really taste each part of your bagel and I would definitely come back to try other items on their menu!

It was nice to finally find a new bagel place. Our bagels were both delicious. My sandwich was yummy but I'll def ask them to be light on the cream cheese next time when I order a sandwich. It was very messy and kind of ruined being able to eat it. It would have also been nice if the sandwich was cut in half. There were tons of different options other than breakfast sandwiches.. soups, apple cider, cookies etc. I took a half a dozen bagels home and their homemade cream cheese.. looking forward to trying it! The place seemed well kept together and clean. The woman at the front was nice too! I'd say if you're looking for a bagel spot, check it out!

A real gem of a restaurant. Food and service are perfection. Wide ranging vegan/vegetarian menu. Staff is totally awesome. Food was served expertly prepared. I ate the vegan Philly cheese steak and it was soooo good. Amazingly good. Hummus as the side dish and that was always delightful. Prices are fair and the ambiance is cozy quaint. Two levels of seating and a small Outdoor area in front. A new favorite.

Chai tea... But it was more like a gingerbread tea or something...

During a recent trip, my wife and I decided to try this bagel shop after reading all the glowing reviews. First impressions were promising--the place is super cute, the staff is very friendly, and the atmosphere makes you feel like you're about to enjoy an incredible bagel. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. We both tried the onion bagel with plain cream cheese. While the flavor was decent, the texture was disappointing. A good bagel should have that signature chew that makes your jaws work for it--this one felt more like a roll or a piece of bread. We also sampled the cinnamon raisin bagel with a sweet-flavored cream cheese (cinnamon, I think). The overall flavor profile was off--it tasted artificial in a way that wasn't enjoyable. As for drinks, I had an iced chai tea, which had a gingerbread-like flavor. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either, and it didn't quite hit the mark for a classic chai. Overall, if you're craving a real, chewy bagel experience, this may not be the spot for you. We probably won't return.

Ok I am done. $3.25 for a bagel with butter. High but. Ok. THEN to add another $1.30 for "light butter" that is criminal!!!!!! Sad the bagels are extremely good. But hidden costs are for cars not bagels.

I came here for brunch on a hot summer day in August 2023. During this time I was studying for an engineering exam, so I sat upstairs and studied a bit before getting brunch. First things I noticed was that it was clean inside and a friendly staff. The menu is extensive and could probably accommodate any diet preferences. I wanted something hefty and filling so I went with a bagel sandwich. Boy was I impressed by the size of the sandwich. It was definitely giving hefty . I run and lift weights regularly so I need meals that can satisfy and provide the macronutrients. I sat outside and enjoyed the warmth with a little shade from the table umbrella. The bagel sandwich was great. I enjoyed every bite and it kept me full most of the day until a late dinner. I recommend Yorgos both as a place to study and grab a nice bite to eat if you're in the Ghent area of Norfolk, VA.

Quite an expensive spot! The bagels were good but I don't think it's worth the price... 2 bagels + 2 coffee cost us almost $35. The service was decent, the coffee bar took quite some time for one chai and one regular coffee. The bar area upstairs though was pretty nice and the ladies up there were super sweet. The spot itself was nicely decorated and very welcoming!

My husband always says he wouldn't know the food is vegan if i didn't tell him, it is always so filling & flavorful! The ambiance in here is so chill! I love that there are books, artwork, crystals & spiritual things for sale, but also a mini library & some chess tables & things to enjoy as well. This space always feels welcoming & peaceful & well worth their prices with their portions & unique offerings! The first time i went, it was a little confusing because there is only street parking & Jikoni cafe is inside of House of Consciousness, but they are the perfect place if you are looking for a little bit of magic & a good bite to eat!

They sell different vegan dishes and most have what they call kush in them. It seems to be some sort of grain, but I really don't know. But I do like it. They have Alfredo, nachos, Mac n cheese, desserts, and smoothies. Some of the food is reasonable and some is pricey. A few desserts were $10-$15. I wanted to try them, but not for that price. We placed our order and looked around the store. They have updated the store/restaurant, so it's a more modern vibe. You can read books or hang out inside, so that's cool. The restroom was clean. There was plenty of seating to dine in. The store side sells books, crystals, jewelry, and more!! The cashier and cook were both very friendly!! I'm not vegan so I stick to what taste familiar to me to be safe. The chili is good, you wouldn't even know it's vegan. Definitely get the vegan nacho cheese to kick it up a notch. It also comes with chips. The alfredo came with veggies and kush. I'm glad it was saucy. I got it fully loaded so it came with a hash brown on top also. It was pretty good, but could use a little more seasoning to elevate the taste.. The last time I ate here the portions were a little larger, they seem to be noticeably smaller this time, so that's the only difference I've noticed. The kush usually confuses my stomach for a few days afterwards. It also may make you feel full faster but, I think it's worth trying. If your a vegan you should check them out, but even if you're not you can probably find something to try! Check them out!!

A few years ago, they opened this location which has a bar and dine-in service. Sophia and I joined a friend of ours for lunch on Saturday. Let's see how the event turned out. I happened to place a reservation for our table the previous night, but since there weren't many people present, it wasn't necessary. The staff greeted us when we walked inside and got seated immediately. The decor inside was really nice. There's artwork abound, a bar and even a foosball table. Simply put, you should not be bored at a place like this. After looking at the menu, we were all ready to order. I selected their cabbage stew with chicken as the protein with plain jasmine rice and sweet plantains. Overall, the food was good. The stew was presented with medium spice so it definitely had my lips burning (a great thing) and the rice was well cooked. The plantains had flavor, but I felt it was overcooked. It has been a minute since I've eaten plantains but they were always a bit soft. The stew did have plenty of chicken but it could've been cut to slightly smaller pieces. Still, the meal had yours truly full and I did takeout. So did Sophia and our friend. All in all, I had a really nice time. The hospitality was really nice (the owner actually came to our table to check on us) and the food was plentiful. Oh yeah, we even had a robot bring our food to us. How cool is that??!! Anyways, till next time :)

My wife and I had friends coming into town over the weekend and I suggested meeting up at Yendidi,…read moreas my friend loves African cuisine. I have been to Yendidi two times prior and have had great experiences both times. However, this particular time left a LOT to be desired. I've previously visited Yendidi during the week and around late afternoon/early evening. They have good happy hour deals and they allow you to order off their lunch menu well into the evening which I appreciate. Since my friends got into town late we ended up visiting Yendidi around 7:30pm on Sunday evening. When we sat down and were getting ready to order our waitress informed us of a laundry list of food options they had run out of (chicken, shrimp, plantains, jollof rice, white rice, beef patties, bread rolls, and samosas). This really limited the availability of options that we could choose from on their extensive menu. I would highly recommend having a white board or some way of communicating what options are not available before customers sit down so that they can make an informed decision about whether to dine at this location or go somewhere else with more options. My friends ordered the goat suya and chicken suya (they apparently still had a small amount of chicken left) and they both enjoyed their appetizers. The meat was very tender and well seasoned. I was relieved that things were taking a turn for the better but unfortunately I was disappointed again. My friend ordered the pepper soup and the wrong entree came out...twice! The waitress didn't give a sincere apology and it took my friend about an hour to get the correct entree. His correct order came out around 8:45pm (Yendidi closes at 9pm) and I could tell he didn't have enough time to enjoy his food. He ate about half of it and didn't even box up the rest (likely because they were staying at a hotel). My wife and I ordered the Waakye Special with a side of sweet potato fries. Fortunately our orders were correct and our food was tasty. Though I much preferred a side of jollof rice or plantains like I normally get, I was satisfied with my meal specifically. Given the lack of food options available and the lack of accuracy with my friend's order I believe their whole meal should've been complimentary or at least significantly discounted (i.e 50% off). I was so disappointed and embarrassed that their dining experience was so subpar. I expect much more out of Yendidi since I've had such better experiences in the past and I've met the owners. I hope they reach out and make this experience right. This restaurant provides tasty authentic West African food but I highly recommend coming during the weekday and or before 7:30pm to ensure that you have the best dining experience. Also, ask for Connie, she's a super jovial waitress.
