I live over 100 miles away and actively avoid going through Hemet when visiting Idyllwild! I impulsively decided to stop by this Valvoline while driving through for an oil change (a little early because my tire pressure alert came on while I was leaving Idyllwild). I waited about 10 minutes before my car was in the bay and they got to work. I got a full synthetic oil change and tire rotation, along with the recommended engine fluid change. Unlike Jiffy Lube, they have screens right by the driver side and an employee that goes over the recommended dealer service based on what's been reported (and their records but I was a first time customer so I had to fill in some blanks). This really helped from a confidence perspective that what was being recommended was real, and I liked that they told me to ignore one of the dealer ones because "it always shows up and isn't necessary". They also suggested the transmission fluids based on the report, but I showed them I'd had it done about 19k miles earlier (receipt in glovebox ftw!) and they updated their records accordingly. All in all, it was $277 and 31 minutes of my Tuesday morning for the oil, engine fluids, and tire rotation. While it was more than I expected to spend, I was due for it and they gave me a discount on each service that helped. Great service and my car has been running great. Highly recommend!

The didn't provide any receipt or feedback on checking any other items. They said it would be emailed to me but I haven't received it even a day later (I've checked my spam folder). To make matters worse, a little oil leak has developed below this vehicle that has NEVER leaked oil previously. I'm sincerely hoping it was just leftover drips that they didn't wipe up, but I'll have to keep monitoring it. My recommendation: make an appointment at some reputable mechanic shop instead of going here. More headache than the time savings was worth.

Last year, he decided to branch off and focus primarily on mods, custom builds, and speciality work on Subarus whiling changing the name of the business to RFC Industries. In doing this, he sold the service side (oil changes, tire rotations, basic repairs, etc.) of his business to 1st Choice Autoworks. So I've been coming to them for the non-off roading specific stuff that Chris still does for me. Luke and everyone else here is incredibly kind, knowledgable, and professional. This past weekend, I panicked since I'm leaving for an extended work trip (1.5 months) which involves my heavily modded Subaru Forester and I had an axle issue days before I was supposed to leave. I texted Chris over the weekend and he said come to 1st Choice by 8:00am on Monday. I didn't have an appointment, and just showed up. And this isn't my style. I'm usually so highly organized and do my best to be respectful, schedule appointments, and go through the proper channels. But I woke up at 6:00am and was in Murrieta by 8:00am. I explained my situation and they were so accommodating and understanding and kind. It took all day but they helped me out and got my car back in good health and I'm so thankful they were cool with me just showing up. This shop is trustworthy, professional, and now is really familiar with off-roading and modded, lifted Subarus due to SubiWorks' and Chris' involvement. The first time I was there a customer gave me a coupon which greatly saved me money. The second time the emailed coupon sent to me was not honored; they said it had expired. The third time (today) I had an online coupon that was sent to me two days before I went in --again, they said the coupon didn't work and when I was able to convince them it came from Jiffy Lube, the charge was expensive--$138.!! they claimed their sign of prices was old. I was very frustrated and I will never take my car to Jiffy Lube again.

Not only did they fix the problem with my AC system, they got it done all on the same day. The technician gave me the full scoop on what was needed to repair the vehicles AC system, he gave me a parts list, and how much it was going to cost for the labor. I opted in and everything began. The repairs took a few hours, but I was glad they were able to get it done in one day. They were fair, honest, and reliable. So far my trucks AC system continues to blow cold, and I have not had any issues since the repairs. The entire staff is really nice and outgoing, they made the entire transaction satisfying and easy.
