Well, it did happen today! For the first time in 14 years living in the Antelope Valley, I've been kicked out of the office and verbally assaulted during my consultation with a nice "I'm not fucking filing your taxes, because there's too much stuff to read!". When I got to my appointment, I prepared everything down to the minimum detail for Mr. Thomas, as instructed by him last year when we first met. He clearly mentioned last year to be very specific about details for my tax return, given the complexity. Last year, he gave me the impression of being a nice and kind person, who was really happy to help. I provided my package to the front desk lady, with the recommendation not to disrupt the order when making copies. When I entered the office, my package was in a mess, and I had to explain where the essential stuff was. I had made all calculations for Mr. Thomas, he just had to plug in the numbers, and I had preserved all related activities and receipts to my 1099s to facilitate any further reading, if required. The individual literally exploded at a certain point with the above words, and kicked me out. It's funny that I was filing for a large income, and this guy just literally said it was too much work. If it was possible to give this company 0 stars that is what they would have received! Keep looking when it comes to wanting the correct people to do your taxes or payroll for you. Fourr Alden & Associates had ONE W4 signed and dated when i started my job THEY decided to go off incorrect information off some W4 they supposedly had received( which they did not because I have only had ONE given to them since I have been at my place of work). When asking for proof of this W4 they have NO RECORD of it because it was never filed with them. KEEP LOOKING IF YOU WANT AN HONEST COMPANY.. they don't take credit for their mistakes and you end up paying for what the mess up! read more

This has been a great office to deal with. I first sought their help when I got a dreaded IRS notice. Jim immediately helped me and got the IRS off of my back and the problem resolved. I decided after that I would use them to file my taxes, that was 4 years ago and every year I look forward to having them handle my taxes. I have had the worst experience with this place. I have tried to work with them several times and get nothing back from them. I went to them and filed my taxes and explained that I need them to negotiate on my behalf. I was told that they would contact the IRS and get an extension to stop them from going after wages. I was not to that point yet of the process, but was close. I contacted the office on a later date to make sure that they got the extension. I was told that they got me a 90 day extension. About a month later the IRS started garnishing my wages. When I called the IRS they showed no extension, and no contact from Fourr Alden. I then called the office and explained what I got from the IRS. I got nothing but excuses about an assistant. They show no notes about the extension in the normal place. I was told that they would find out what happens and get back to me. I went down to the office and they were being audited by the IRS. One person thought I was an auditor and came up to me and asked how they were doing. Save yourself the trouble, stay away. Still not one returned phone call. read more

I started using James Fourr for my taxes in 2006 when I had to try to do estate taxes for an ongoing probate and no one else would even look at it. A friend at work gave me his name and I've been having him do my taxes ever since. His services are quick, thorough and professional. My personal taxes are pretty easy, so he can get me in and out of there in less than an hour, but without sacrificing quality. He's a bloodhound that will do everything he can to find you good solid and legal deductions on your taxes. It's not cheap, but his tax preparation services are far superior when compared to tax factories like H&R Block, and far less risky than doing it yourself. read more
