While they work on hourly consult rates which is a refreshing option for many of us, on a recent project, my business was clearly not valued. Calls and emails were not returned for days or weeks, plans not sent as promised, all eventually resolved through my repeated follow-ups. The justified reason is that a bigger client was requiring all their time. Customer Service 101. I pay my invoices on time and without question. I will set aside the sales tax issue which required multiple emails to be resolved. The last straw was the requirement to pay for a 4th consult by a sharp deadline or my consult would be canceled. What choice did I have? I will find an interior design firm that will appreciate my business.

The stencils themselves are made of a decent quality material but they do not always match the design pictures shown for them. For the 3 complete sets of stencils I have purchased from them, I have had to use my own Cricut cutting machine twice to create my own stencils to overlay in order to get the actual design that Royal Designs had shown for them. What is so aggravating about it is that 1.) I have to purchase additional materials and 2.) It wouldn't have taken much effort for them to actually incorporate the shown design into the stencil - they just leave certain details uncut. When I first tried their stencil cremes, I absolutely fell in love with them. Because I liked them so much I decided to use them for an extremely large scale project I was doing in my historic home. Because this massive undertaking was going to be very time consuming I had only ordered a majority portion of the paints/cremes I would need so that they wouldn't dry out. Two years into this project, almost complete, I ordered the final container of antique gold stencil creme only to have the colors not match - not even a little bit! My project is now at a complete standstill. More so, I had to spend days upset & arguing with their customer service department over a $12 refund due to issues within their supply chain. This company has absolutely horrendously rude customer service, as well as inconsistent and incomplete products. Buyers beware.

It's now been over 9 months, and the project is still incomplete. Francisco consistently ignored emails and calls, missed scheduled meetings with city engineers, and took weeks or even months to respond to basic city comments. He falsely claimed he would handle the Title 24 energy report, only to tell me 8 months later that I had to hire someone else--causing unnecessary delays and out-of-pocket costs. The drawings he submitted were inaccurate and included irrelevant, incorrect information--things we never discussed. His advice was not only wrong but also caused serious setbacks and thousands of dollars in financial loss. After doing more research, I've discovered I'm not alone--multiple other clients have reported nearly identical experiences with him, including being misled, overcharged, and left with unfinished or unusable work. This appears to be a recurring pattern of behavior, not just a one-off bad experience. Avoid working with Francisco and Specialties Design Drafting Services at all costs. His lack of professionalism, accountability, and ethics has been one of the most frustrating and costly experiences I've ever had.

I was expecting a number of rounds of back and forth before we got to that point so it showed she really had an understanding of our priorities and style. Since this was our first project, and I'm a very detail oriented person, I had a lot of questions and really wanted to understand everything about the process. She was patient and prompt when answering my questions and going over the details, sometimes repeatedly. I really appreciated that because I know we weren't her biggest client. I was also impressed with her taking the initiative and working with our general contractor to make sure we where all on the same page. They asked to use my personal bathroom a few times which i found odd as i have hired several contractors who worked longer hour jobs who never asked to use my bathroom before. I also found them using my kitchen sink to watch their rags, which really peeved me because they did not ask for my permission first. They left my place a mess, left several supplies in my garage without letting me know in advance that someone would not pick it up till the following day. They left for the day without letting me know they were finished, which was an inconvenience as i wasn't sure if i should stick around or wait for them to come back. I only found out later through email that the job was done. Will not be hiring again
