He was one of the Home Depot pros that were referred to me in 2021 to paint the exterior of my house and shed. He gave me a fair price and a military discount. He added his expertise with regard to color choice. His work was excellent and his staff professional. I called him 03/07/2024 about repairing some external termite damage and adding a decoration on the pitch of my house. He asked me to send him pictures which I did. We talked and he remembered me. He came out looked at the job and told me he would do it for a service charge!!! He came today and completed the job to perfection!! I am one happy customer!!!! Hello I am a long-time customer of Home Depot and a few weeks ago I asked you for a painter referral. One of those referrals sent to me was Darren Herrod. What a bad referral this was...! This guy is practically kind of rude, he thinks that he is the only painter around and after he told me to call him in order to schedule my job when I called him he informed me that he does not deal with Home Depot insurance because "Home Depot does NOT pay". Just for the record, I told him that I would pay him and I would deal with HD's insurance. He said OK and since then he has not answered my calls. I am not sure why Home Depot refers people like him that they badmouth the company....Maybe it is time for him to get off their list and let him deal with finding jobs. This is totally a lie and a cop-out. Going after Home Depot for $1800 is pretty funny...!!! I chose Darren because he could also paint my kitchen cabinets and the exterior of my house when the other guy who came in told me that he was only doing interior work. I FEEL THAT DARREN DOES NOT GET THE POINT...!!! ALL I ASKED WAS FOR HIM TO CALL ME BACK AND LET ME KNOW THAT HE DID NOT WANT TO DO MY PROJECT INSTEAD OF STANDING ME UP AND IGNORE MY CALLS. Mr. Darren was the first professional to contact me from Home Depot pro referrals. My first impression from the call was a positive one and we continued to communicate by text to set up appointment to look at space and give estimate. He arrived on time and very professional during the consultation and gave his advise on what we should do. After initial meeting, I was very impressed and wanted to go with him, but as always we need to get other estimates to compare and he also recommended that we get at least 3 estimates. I did select Darren for the job. Communicated well during the process leading up to job, very fair. He and his team arrived on time and they were hear to work. Very respectful for my time and very trust worthy. The quality of work was exceptional and very pleased with the painting. I am sitting here now just admiring how great the interior of my home looks. They painted three bathrooms, family room, kitchen, accent wall in master bedroom, an upstairs hallway with trim work in all spaces in 2 days.
