I was in the ballpark of knowing what sort of e-bike to get (tech-spec wise), but wanted it within a certain budget range, which was out of scope for my knowledge. Art helped me pick and choose what bike options I had within their inventory. Ultimately I took up on his decision on getting a Mangosteen e-bike. Art's recommendations and advice was the best to understand and good to know. If you end up working with Art, He'd hook you up. Store Pros: A LOT of e-bikes to choose from. They had a much bigger inventory than expected, since from the outside the store looks small. You'll most likely find something you'd like here. Accessories are readily available in-store as well. If you need a new bike lock, helmet, or maintenance parts (brake pads, and other misc. parts), they will be readily available in-store. Store Cons: While the store had a great inventory to look and choose from, it was more on the pricier side. Again, It's subjective per person, but from what I remember from browsing around, most e-bikes in this location start from $1,250+. While there are some affordable e-bikes in this location, the starting price might deter budget-friendly buyers from this location. Due note: the upside to these higher prices is that the bikes come pre-assembled, and labor fees are NOT included when buying the bike. That's a plus in my book. Only one employee may be available at a time. No shade to Art (more than anything go to him before anyone else.). Since there's typically one person on the floor to help customers out, there may be a chance of long wait times if the employee is helping someone else out in the store. If you're an impatient person, this will be a red flag to you. For anyone else that is patient, It's worth the wait. Overall: I'll definitely be coming back to this shop for bike-related maintenance, questions, and possibly buy more bikes in the future if need be. But depending on who you're with, your experience may vary. I can happily vouch for Art, His work and commitment on helping me out has been outstanding.

They said they called but they never left a voicemail. Now my daughter took the bike to UCSB and the brakes were super squeaky and as she was taking it to the campus bike shop, the chain came off the track. That never happened before!!!! EVER!!!! Whatever this bike shop did has rendered the bike useless for my daughter at UCSB over 100 miles away. We now have to pay to get the bike looked at and repaired in Santa Barbara.

So please the service is uglier I had to call on Saturday evening before they closed like 6+ times.

He said there was 5 customers ahead of him and he was told to wait one hour. If you're a regular, this is a great place but if you're first timer, your money is good as trash.

This is the only bike shop that I take my urban mountain bike to for service and parts, because they always get it right and he's been in Compton like forever...Great service and great guy, Manny Silva knows bikes, come by to see all of their custom creations. They even made 2 beach cruisers for the John Singleton hit film, "Baby Boy" for Columbia Pictures in his shop on site. Chrome creations that will amaze you, plus excellent service along with a huge selection of bicycles for riders of all ages. I'm past 60 and still ride over to Manny's when I need service or tires or anything. Even conversation, he's been there so long in Compton, serving generations of riders of all ages and sizes. Low Rider Bikes...he's the man to see!! Forget Walmart...Manny's is the bike shop for serious riders. read more

I could not find these pair of shoes he gave me online anywhere. I think it must've been a cheap bulk buy and he's trying to get rid of them by "promoting" free shoes with bike purchase. He also failed to mention they are not compatible with my pedals. (Which he installed) When I first tried them on, the clip became loose while clipped in. And when you're cycling, clipping out incorrectly could cost you to fall. Which I did and my knee was severely injured. Thanks to his cheap free shoes. Beware of buying shoes from him, it can cost you your knee like it did for me. I went to another bike shop and they told me the shoe/pedal combo were the cheapest low quality they've ever seen

BEWARE: This business sells dangerously defective products and refuses to stand behind them…read more I purchased a bike from this establishment that literally BROKE IN HALF during a simple 10-mile ride. I was stranded and forced to walk home carrying the broken frame myself. When I contacted the owner and provided proof of the damage, he initially refused to issue a refund and only agreed to have the manufacturer send a replacement after repeated complaints. Unbelievably, the replacement bike ALSO broke in half just a few months later. At that point, instead of taking responsibility for selling two catastrophic failures, the owner told me he had already "given me a free bike" and refused to refund me. Selling one unsafe bike is unacceptable, selling two and then blaming the customer is outrageous. This business clearly does not care about customer safety, product quality, or basic accountability. A bike frame snapping in half is not a minor issue, it is a serious safety hazard that could have caused a major injury or worse. I would strongly advise anyone considering purchasing from this establishment to take their money elsewhere unless they enjoy wasting money on dangerous products and being ignored when something goes wrong.
