They tuned it up, then called me to walk through a few issues they found in my front wheel and explained everything clearly so I knew exactly what was going on. They would take apart your bike, they would add more broken parts and at the end of my shitty experience they still refuse and deny to release the bike. They would ripped off their customers and they would only print out big and clear the $85 of labor while charging $200 for parts they didn't even install in my bike and deceive customers by saying we replaced it just now. This place is a ripoff and they don't let the customers know of their real totals and they put the numbers very tiny and almost impossible to distinguish them. So please the service is uglier I had to call on Saturday evening before they closed like 6+ times. read more

Horrible experience today. This bike shop was very rude to my husband and son. They were RACIST and the employees were asking stupid question regarding there bikes. My husband has years of experience with bikes and just needed a screw tighten not only were they not helpful they were rude and acted as if my husband didn't know what he was talking about. My son was looking at the grip sleeves and the the women who works there told him " Aren't you here with your Dad, so why are you over here touching the grip sleeves" my son felt so bad. This is a small community and I know a lot of people. I will definitely tell everyone I know not to go to this bike shop. I had a very upsetting and unprofessional experience with this bike shop involving payment, pricing transparency, and the release of my bike. Earlier in the day, I called multiple times asking if I could pay over the phone once the bike was ready. I was repeatedly told no. The bigger issue happened after payment was made. My bike had already been paid for, and I had clearly authorized my friend to pick it up for me. My friend also provided his information. Even then, Katie created an issue and said the third-party payer needed to authorize the release of the bike. That made no sense to me because the third party paid the repair bill as a favor, but that person is not the owner of the bike. I am the owner. It felt like my bike was being withheld even though payment had already been received and I had already authorized my friend to pick it up. If it had not been released that day, I would have been without it for Sunday and Monday. I also had concerns about the receipt and pricing. The receipt was handwritten in pencil, and the charges were not clearly itemized in a way that made the parts and labor easy to understand. I was told one amount for part of the repair, but the final charges were much higher than I expected. Customers should be given clear pricing before pickup, especially when repairs involve multiple parts or fees. Paying for someone's repair does not make that person the owner of the property. read more

Sometimes, my bike gets left in the garage for too long, so when that happens, I bring it in for a tuneup and air up to this shop. I've been coming here for years, and I ALWAYS get excellent service. My bike is one of the last gifts I received from my dad before he passed, so I don't trust just anyone with my bike. This shop goes above and beyond. During today's service, my bike's gears were fixed properly, so now I'll have a smoother ride. The owners also took the time to show me bike lights and even placed the lights on my bike for me after changing the batteries on the dead light. I decided to buy a rechargeable light for future convenience and added safety. I was shown several options and picked an affordable set (front and rear lights). At the end, one of the owners even helped me get the bike back into my car. I'll come here for my next bike purchase, for sure! They have some affordable e-bikes I had my eyes on. I'm very happy with the service and hope this shop remains in Carson for many more years to come! read more

Wrost experience that I have ever had. I visited this establishment in September found the bike that I want put it on layaway and was told prior to picking up the bike to call and they would order my selection from the manufacturer/distributor. Made a second payment on the bike with no problems. Then I received a phone call telling me that the bike I ordered was not available in the size that I needed that I should stop by and see the other style that it comes in. I went in today to get a refund because I now have merchandise on layaway that never existed. When I walk in and explain why I'm there I was that they ordered the other bike for me and began opening the box to show it to me. When I say no that's not what I want just refund my money. I get cornered by some big guy that comes from behind the counter to my left and another guy to my right with the lady in front of me. Now we're in a yelling match with them telling that there are no refunds. I'm trying explain to both guys as I'm turning left and right cornered in the store. I'm steady trying to explain that I was not told by the lady when I ordered the bike that the transaction was final when I ordered the bike. But that should not matter they sold me something that did not exist. The big guy wanted to explain that it did not matter that when I put it In Layaway I bought it. As it started to get crazy the lady yells for them to stop they were not there when this transaction took place and that she would refund me. At this point im afraid and just want out i tell her to keep the almost $400.00 for bike that i will just take it to court. She then insist on giving me a refund so i wait nervously thinking have they called the police on me for standing on right. While waiting for the refund the older guy comes in front of me and pointed at sign hiden at the top and says "that sign didn't just get there" I tell him again Sir keep the money just give me my receipt so I can leave. While I'm waiting the lady is constantly apologizing for not knowing how to issue me a refund as I am just standing there nervous trying not to think about what could happen next as I'm making sure that I am not next to the counter and that both my hands are visible. I have not felt like this in 50 years. Worst experience that I have ever had in Carson I literally was afraid how this was going to end and all I wanted was my money back for a product that was sold to me that never existed. I came in here recently and gave a specific size of a seat post I was looking for. The person I spoke to told me that size isn't made. She also told me that "There are hundreds of different seat posts" and that she would need me to bring it in. I called on Saturday 3/27/21 about inquiring a tune up and possible new tires on a used bike I got for free from a family member. They were open but closing soon, I'm 10 minutes away and Steve reassured me they would be there and I can bring my bike down. Kathy or Katie welcomed me and explained the tune up and process, she informed me that my bike was a cruiser bike and I needed a cruiser seat because the one I had was a touring seat. She quoted me 2 1/2 to 3 weeks for my bike to be ready. That's fine considering other places I had reached out to told me 2 or 3 months! Due to COVID everyone is buying or fixing their bikes so bike stores are busy. So I dropped it off Saturday and on Tuesday I got a call that it was ready! Steve told me I could pick it up the next day, they put air in my tires and if the air was still holding I didn't need new ones since they were still good. I picked it up Wednesday 3/31/21 and it was ready! The new seat, the tires, brakes and gears, chain out back on was all done. It rides perfect, no issues or problems. The seat is comfy also. Great service, great prices, great people! I will definitely recommend people to come here for either a new bike or to fix their old one. They have a nice selection of new bikes, used bikes and accessories. All together my prices was a little over $100, for a tune up and a new seat. Can't beat that! And the facts that they were done with my bike in just a couple of days instead of 2 1/2 weeks was even better. read more

Went in to get my tire replaced, was quested two weeks and received bike back in a day!

This bicycle shop represents what Family businesses should be. I walked in while my car was being detailed next door and simply asked her (didnt get her name) if they have a certain seat pole size converter for my new seat i have bought off amazon. She kindly asked me to bring it in and take a look. As i brought it to her she knew exactly what the problem was. I had the new seat with its manufacturer size bracket (smaller pole) and my bicycles size was much larger. She started taking the brackets off and piecing them little to little. It wasn't then and there that i have realized that not only are the seats interchangeable, the brackets are too!! My old seat pole stayed and the old bracket fit perfectly with my new seat! Her knowledge is priceless and her kind patience is unmatched. I am glad i walked in there today to explore and walked out knowing i will be here for my any need for my bicycles! I called to see if they could help me out with my jogging stroller that has bike wheels on it. They were very polite over the phone & gave me the cost of repair upfront, which I really appreciated. I had called another bike shop prior to this, and was not treated well or given an estimate so I was too scared to even call back or come in to that one. Glad I ended up coming in here, because they were very helpful and explained the issue with my wheels. I was not influenced to buy any products, and explained to that my jogger just has a tendency to lose air every couple of weeks. Most people I read reviews on my item had to keep buying new inner tubes, so I'm glad I did not have to deal with wasting money on that, or a new stroller. I didn't end up having to pay for anything but overall my experience was great. They had some special kind of tool that was better for putting air in my tires and they felt great when I picked up my stroller. They weren't even that good when I first bought the item. They totally took the anxiety out of dealing with a situation that I know nothing about, and my jogger is definitely a necessity so I can't thank them enough for their help. I would come back here. I log into my trusty yelp app, search "bicycle repair"'. This place is down the street from my.house and it had only one "$" so I thought to myself, this is the place I'm going. I call them first just to make sure they fix bikes and not only sell them. Here's how the convo went: Me: Good morning. I was wondering if u guys fix bikes there. Kate (or at least that what she said): um...yeah... *sarcasm* Me: oh ok, I was just asking because I wanted to Kno if you guys fix or just sell them, that's y Kate: Umm.. have you ever been to a place where they only sell bikes and just fix them? *rude tone* Ok dude, seriously I thought to myself, is this humour? Because if it is, then it's fine. But then I thought to myself again.. no, you absolutely do not joke like that to a customer ESPECIALLY if you don't know them. Besides, I do not think she was joking at all. She just wasn't raised right and doesn't know how to behave. Anyways, I asked her for her name and told her, "okay, see you soon". I get to the store, tell my trusty Jack Russell Terrier to stay put in the car. I walk in and this nonsensical woman is with another customer so I can't ask her "what the **** is wrong with her?" I see a man behind the counter. He hasn't faulted me in any way so I greet him, "hello how are you sir". (No seriously, that's how I greeted him") He said hi back. I told him I needed new brakes and that my bikes needed air. He said they wouldn't be able to fix them for a couple weeks. I totally understand that. Things get busy. Do I asked him if I could please use his air to pump air into my fixie. You Kno what this liar told me?? "I could give you a pump to use but you'll need to BUY an adapter to punk it into your mind of tire. Ok, Audience.. I Kno what you're thinking. "Its true, its didn't kind of pumps. Maybe he doesnt have the pump for fixies". Well thats an.invalid statement. U Kno how I know??? Because its a freakin.BIKE SHOP!!!!! Fixies are soooo freakin popular. Of COURSE you have a pump for fixies. Every bike.shop does otherwise, you're askin to go out of business. You really do not have to lie man. Stop tryin to make me buy stuff l. I have mixed feelings towards this place. The guy does good work, but there is a lot of down time in between. It took 9 days to get my bike back for a tune up and a rear shifter to be changed, then I had to return to get the wheel trued again so that was another 4 days lost. He told me he was going to do one thing, and ended up not because he said it was too time consuming. He's the sole mechanic in the shop so I can kind of understand. The shop is filled with just as many used bikes as there are new, and there isnt the biggest selection of bikes. They do carry most of the common items you'll need like lights, tires and tubes. The lady usually there is very kind and gave great customer service. Fairly priced... tune up was $35 plus $35 for the shifter. Parking can get kind of tight depending on what time you go. Overall a decent shop, I just wished it was done when promised. read more

Been to the corporate bike stores and their customer service is lame, price are high, wait time long, and service time even longer. If your a relative local come to Carson cyclery. True Mom and Pop business run by a family that are good people. They may not have the largest bike shop around, nor the most bikes in stock, but they can get you what you want, have very fair prices and totally honest with with. Went back in after not being in the area for around 20 years and was shocked to hear it was the same owner since 1978. Was in the market for a new bike that was out of stock everywhere and they had one in stock, at retail price when everyone else is price gouging due to the shortage of bikes due to Covid. I went in for a few things. The gentleman was pleasant and helpful. I seen a bike he had and asked about it. He said he had a few others for sale. I told him i would probably be back for it. I returned for a few more things with my boyfriend and the Lady helped us this time. She helped, but we felt rushed. I went back to inquire about one of the bikes i was told were for Sale, and it was totally beat up. He lowered the price, but still needed new tires and other things. Plus after looking at the bike it looked a lil too small for my daughter. He asked me to bring her in so we would see one of the others. I did, and was told he didn't have the time to pull the bike out. and to come back friday and call. I called today, in advance like I was asked. The lady got in the phone Rude as possible telling me they have other more important things to do than to pull the bike out and for him to see it. And that i would have to wait for another week. I honestly didn't understand what the problem was, all that are in front are tires, and there are 3 people there. I just wanted to come in, pay and take the bike with me. She then says, its not for sale. In other words, Too Bad, can't help you. What kind of customer service is that? If you don't want people coming in inquiring on bicycles, maybe you shouldn't own a bike sh In response to your reply. 1. Am I not a customer? I didn't know there was difference wether it be a new bike or an old one.. 2. Yes you did pull a bike out, and it took all of two minutes. I did turn it down, not because of the work it needed, but because it looked too small for my daughter. There was no point in me buying the bike, if it wasn't going to work for her. 3. Two weeks+, I would say thats pretty patient enough, especially, if you were able to dig a bike out two weeks earlier, in the same place as the last bike. 4. The bike is not a "Hobby Bike" its for my daughter to ride daily. I don't appreciate that you would treat me any different than the person buying a "New" bike. So YES for that I am leaving a BAD review. Plus it must have struck a cord somehow, if you had to justify your actions.
