Walked in to get some bmx wheels built. They unfortunately didn't have the spokes I was looking for. Not their fault but when I asked what size spokes I needed they told me 193 for front and back... which I immediately knew was wrong. They just threw out a random number at me when I already know drive side and non-drive side on the back wheel and the front wheel are all different size spokes. So I told them no worries I'll go order them and come back so you guys can build them for me and they said okay and again confirmed if they were sure if it was 193... so they were willing to let me go buy the wrong sizes and come back in for them to still not be able to build them lol. It's a good thing I know a little bit more about bikes because unfortunately somebody else would have been VERY mad. Hope they like review! Don't go here! Place is also a dump!!! read more

Recently, I was referred to this shop by local legend/craftsman Jeff Wolf (Wolf Creative Customs) and I was quite surprised since I had seen the front of the shop many times, but never even thought of stopping in. Fast-forward to this week- I needed a new disc brake hub installed on a rim and Felix was happy to do the job while I waited ...and for a modest price. Felix's Bike Shop in old town Gardena is a good place to get your bike serviced, repaired, refurbished for a reasonable price. I took my Schwinn racer bike from 1989 and hadn't been ridden in over 20 years. He refurbished my bike so that it runs like new, and repair was on time just before my 4th of July bike run w/ new friends who are more athletically inclined. I huffed & puffed up the hills, but I lamely made it to the picnic site to view the fireworks later that night. Highly recommend Felix's Bike Shop. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I took my son's bike there to get a tune up because his boy scout troop was doing a bike ride on trails in Palos Verdes. I wanted to make sure his bike was in good condition because some of those hills are steep. When my son came home, he complained about the bike because he had NO BRAKES going downhill. He narrowly avoided a car and catastrophic consequences. Thank God for watching over my boy! A couple of the dads stepped in and adjusted the brakes so that he was safe for the rest of the ride because I didn't go with them that day. When I called, the response that I got was unapologetic. They would not refund me back my money. I was told to bring the bike back in and they would adjust it but that was already done by the dads on the trip so there was no need at this point. I, originally, went to this shop because it got good reviews on Yelp. But, I am deeply disappointed in the quality of work. Again, thank God it wasn't worse. It turns out though that the problem was pretty simple to solve, as the owner there quickly demonstrated. Came here wanting to buy a bike, ask the price for a bike, he says that bike is not for sale and tells me he doesn't have any bikes for sale. So apparently all those 100 or so bikes sitting outside and inside the shop are there just for show and none of them are for sale. I felt discriminated against like he just didn't want to sell me anything, I don't know this guy and haven't been to this shop in 20 years. I used to come here as a teenager and got my bike fixed several times here, that was 20 years ago, will not be coming back ever. Will not recommend for repair or buying bikes. read more

They're a nice family-owned business that does really great work for reasonable prices. Sometimes they can get a little backed up, so the turnaround time isn't the best, but I can't knock a business for being too successful, can I? I called Felix's on Thursday (2/22/24) and explained the issues l was having with my adult tricycle, Pablo asked if l could bring it in for same day service. I explained that l was working and asked if they had weekend hours. He provided weekend business hours. I arrived 2/24/24 and received immediate service. Walked in needing a new bike for transportation because my car broke down, I told the man who helped me that I wasn't planning on spending more than $100. He was very kind and helped me out get this bike for $65, adding a basket in the front and fixed it up. He told me to pick it up 2 hours later, after he would fix the brakes and make sure everything would run well. I rode the bike home, which is about 2 miles from the shop... and it ran very smooth! I was looking for some odds and ends and told Fernando and Alex i need some 26" Araya 7x's he asked a few friends and found what I was looking for. Finding the old school BMX is pricey and usually unsuccessful but I was lucky. And the guy David W who gave a 1 star review. It was a pleasure to drop into this very eclectic bike shop. The nostalgia for Schwinn bikes, aligned in a row is unreal. I've read some of the other reviews and it sounded like they were shopping for a brand new bike, instead of admiring this man's appreciation for the classics. Felix can solve your repair needs and also be the specialist for your Klunker builds or restoration projects. Felix's Son removed my kickstand off of my Schwinn Klunker project, very cool kid too. Felix asked about my build and showed me his Klunker build that he had completed . He even had his Son bring it outside, so I could take it for a spin around the corner. Very nice family, love businesses that still have the Mom and Pop family feel to them. I will definitely be back to purchase parts, he is very knowledgeable on his classics. I've been having my 50s beach bike in my garage for about two years now. I had an issue with it and wanted to fix it since summer is coming up. I first went to a bike shop on 182 and Crenshaw. Salesman there had mentioned that my bike parts were discontinued and was going to be difficult to try and fix it and I was looking at and easy over $100. I initially left my bike and he told me that it would be a couple days to figure out what was wrong with it and fix it so I left my bike and he mentioned he would call me when it would be ready but something in my gut told me to go back and get my bike back and to not give him my Service. Shortly after I picked up my bike and left I came to Felix bike shop. And let me tell you guys that I am extremely happy that I did. Felix and his wife were extremely helpful and friendly. Felix rode my bike to try and figure out my bikes issue and within 15 minutes or less he had figured it out. He managed to change two parts from my bike for less than $40. Which is $60 dollars probably more since the previous bike shop was giving me a quote with over $100. Felix was able to fix my bike right there and then and gave me such a cost affordable price. If you have an old school bike not up to date I highly recommend bringing your bike here. You will not be disappointed at all and prices are extremely cost affordable. My son found this place on google so that he could get some new tire for his bike. Took him over to purchase the tires. This place is cluttered with bike parts from old school bikes to new bikes. The price is range is ok. I am sure my son will be coming back soon for a new or used part for his bike in the future. They do take debt which is always a plus.
