Patriotic cake
Susan L.

I ordered a patriotic tres leche cake online, however when we cut into the cake on the 4th of July it was NOT a tres leche cake. It was a plain white cake. I called to inquire and they did not appear to understand why I was upset with the wrong cake. Very disappointing as I drove 30 minutes just for this cake. Disappointed and will not be returning.

Wanted a Tres Leches cake for my birthday. Came a picked up a slice of pineapple. So good! Make sure you check this place out!

One of the best bakeries in Charlotte! If you want an authentic Latin bakery with amazing options and great pricing, look no further than Manolo's. In addition, the owner is a staple in our community. The empanadas are fantastic, you cannot miss with the bakery items, and they have amazing, customizable cakes. The pistachio tres leches cake is a notable favorite for me. You can buy a whole cake or by the piece. This place is amazing - and so well-priced.

Manolo's has been in operation for 28 years, and it's a loved Charlotte institution for a reason. Not only are their pastries delicious, they do so much good for the community and help amplify the voices and vital work of immigrants. They're a local business that you can feel great supporting since that support goes so far. And be sure to get a tres leches while you're there! We loved the caramel one.

Absolutely love this neighborhood bakery gem! They always have tons of pastries and a good selections of cakes to choose from. I love the churros and empanadas! Service is always friendly and they do so much in the community to support neighbors and lift others up. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are a few tables inside to enjoy your treats and everyone is welcoming and friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely give Manolo's a try!!

With all the ICE raids happening in late january, this place was at the heart of where everyone would gather and protest! Immediately walking up to this location you are able to see the love the community has given this little bakery. ICE is not allowed of course, as its pretty easy to read all the "No ICE" signs. Upon entering you are greeted with a plastic rectangular case filled with all yhe nostalgic Mexican sweet bread with the famous "Conchas". They offer a variety of breads from puerquito, muffins, cookies, empanadas de dulcet, pan rellenados, churros, donas, whole cakes, slices of cake, ice cream, spinach and cheese empanadas, to plenty of drinks options as well. Tucked in the back corner you can find their little "Made in America by Immigrants" merch shop. We visited around lunch time and there was actually quite a bit of traffic happening. You can also place custom orders for cakes and bread. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I will definitely be visiting more often as I really enjoyed the vibe of this place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Happy to support small family owned businesses.

The remains of what once was a slice of Mocha cake

I saw a post on one of the main Charlotte news publications that referenced Manolo's & how the owner said that they were losing business due to the fear, amongst the community in East Charlotte, of encounters with the current administrations disdain towards legal & undocumented immigrants. I actually use to live in Peppertree apartments right beside the complex where Manolos is, so I've definitely seen it multiple times but I'm not really big on sweets so I never went. After seeing the post I had to go. I got the Mocha cake & a Red Velvet cake. Both taste amazing. I'm guessing the Mocha is a leche type cake due to the moisture. But it's not soaking wet like some leche cakes I've had. It's a perfect balance of moisture and fluffy chocolate cake. Not heavy, but light; literally melts in your mouth. Right amount of sweetness as well, not too overwhelming. The Red Velvet is more dense but still moist with a savory x sweet cream cheese type of icing. Both very delicious! I ate the mocha cake in its entirety before I could remember to take a picture & if I wasn't full already I would've done the same for the Red Velvet. The slices are huge & thick as well. You could easily cut it in half & share it with someone you care about. I will definitely be back when I get a taste for something sweet again.

Had a great visit at Manolo's today. So many delicious pastries to choose from. Our favorite was the churros. They were out of empanadas (tip : I was told they go fast especially in the mornings) so I got a tamale and it was very yummy. We also had a coffee ice cream which was very good and refreshing on a hot summer day. I also really appreciate their hours of business they are open every day from 6am-9pm. Good because we notice many places have short hours, but not Manolo's. I noticed the shirts the staff wore which read," Made in America by Immigrant hands" these shirts are also available for purchase. The pastries & food made by your hands is a blessing to the community. 866-987-7729 free 24/7 prayer line

Super excited to finally visit this Spanish bakery! Tucked away in a strip mall, you walk in and instantly feel welcomed by the staff. Everywhere you look, you see deliciousness! They offer artisan gelato, pastries, breads, cakes, pies for everyone. Seriously mouthwatering at every turn! We bought an assortment of goodies for our family and enjoyed every single one! We will add Manolo'a into our rotation and most definitely order a cake for our next event!

I have literally been coming to Crave for over 15 years. I was a fan then and I'm still a fan now…read more I have a serious sweet tooth so I love that this dessert bar offers a variety of sweets for different pallets from the drinks to the cheesecakes and the cakes, I can always find something that I like. On this particular visit, I sat on the patio, which I had never done before, but it was nice and quiet and very relaxing on a Sunday evening. I ordered the cheesecake and it was garnished with caramel popcorn, which added a nice touch to look at, but the popcorn was stale so I don't really think it was necessary, but it did make the plate look pretty. The cheesecake was delicious. Couldn't finish it all, but I took it home and finished it the next day. Our server was great. She was very attentive, friendly, and gave good suggestions. Love Crave and I'll again and again.

But a good friend of mine said that they go all the time and haven't had any issues and wanted to get me to try it again. So, we went on a Saturday evening around 6ish. We didn't necessarily have any issues getting in, but the hostess did say that her security might have an issue with the shirt my friend had on, even though he was very dressed up. It made me uncomfortable and seemed threatning almost. But she let us in and everything was fine. I don't understand why Crave always acts this way. But then when I walk in I see people of non-color dressed any kind of way, casual, etc. It just really rubs me the wrong way and for it to happen to me EVERY time I go, only leads me to one conclusion... So, anyway. We were there and we ordered hookah drinks and had a good time. Our server was super sweet and chill. She really saved the visit. I had a good time, but I most likely will not be back again.

Flavorful, with both very savory and yet light ingredients which made it perfect for an entree. Not too dense but also filling enough for the wait until dinner. Then the salmon a la plancha. The salmon was cooked to perfection and not overdone, which is unfortunately often the case. The perfect portion along with the tomatoes and kale to keep it rich, but still somehow light. Ended the night with their signature (and recommended) le citron lemon dessert which was to die for. The waitress also brought me some madelines with an adorable little personalized message to complement my little mom's solo night out. 10 out of 10 and certainly can't wait to come again!

The fries were battered and very crispy. These are the best kind! Complimentary Puff Pastry (4/5): These had the flavor of the bread at Brazilian steakhouses but with a different texture. The pastry was crumbly and there was a chilled gruyere mousse inside. Nice way to start the meal. French Onion Soup (3/5): Thick soup with lots of flavor. A little too sweet and tangy for me. I liked how much cheese there was on top. Duck A L'Orange (3/5): The duck wasn't that great. The skin wasn't crispy and it was a little too gamey. There was also very little meat in general. The orange sauce was runnier than I expected and very subtle. Good amount of potatoes and green beans which were solid. La Ricane (4/5): Reminded me of a Snickers ice cream bar but instead of ice cream it was a fluffy nougat. Good, but hard to justify the price when the ice cream version from the store is better and much cheaper haha Complimentary Madeleine (3/5): Nice that they gave these out at the end of the meal! Soft and bready with a light lemon flavor.
