First of all, it smelled of delicious treats when we walked in the door. But none of the staff members greeted us. They were blasting hard rock music and seemed agitated the entire time while there. A young brown skinned woman stood in front to order but she walked out probably because of the bad vibes. I stayed because I wanted to try the sweets. I noticed that the white customer was treated with kindness but not us brown skinned folks. I got the custom brownie sundae and the brownie was dry but the ice cream was delicious. In the heart of south end so they don't have their own parking. You will have to park in the deck or across the street. I like that you can add toppings to your ice cream, that's pretty unique. This is my second time visiting swirl and it's always a treat. My oldest son got one scoop of ice cream that and my youngest son tried the Sundae. We had the mint chocolate ice cream with Oreos, gummy worms, and chocolate drizzle on top, and my son loved that combination and said it was the best he ever had. The Sunday combination we decided to go with was the snickerdoodle cookie, with vanilla ice cream with Oreos on top pecans and caramel drizzle. The sundae was super delicious and I believe we finished it off in less than five minutes. This is a dessert bar located on the south downtown area. You can park in the garage. You'll find several different tasty treats, ice cream, two cupcakes, etc. the cool thing is you can make your own. They have awards program as well. Every time I have gone, the customer service is great and the establishment is clean and fun.. to location is hard to get to for me so I rarely get a chance to go. I have been to this place several times with great experiences until today. Today I met the owner and everything changed. I will never return again and would not recommend anyone giving their money to such a place. I have to eat gluten free. I came yesterday to get my normal brownie cookie with vanilla icing and candied pecans. As normal I asked the server to cut off the tip from the icing bag as to avoid cross contamination. She declined and said she wasn't comfortable and she wanted to keep me safe. I let her know that I have asked for this many times with no issue. She let me know she was the owner and that she would not have let her staff do such a thing. So I opted for the plan cookie. As I approached the payment area I let her know I was disappointed in her service. I mentioned that there was always an option to accommodate and get a fresh bag of icing. She said she wasn't willing to do that. Then she took the cookie away and said she would not serve me and walked away. Bad business for such an easy fix. Truly a customer is not always right, but choosing not to service me for expressing my dissatisfaction is truly appalling. To top it off, I recently moved and came back into town for a day excited to eat one of the only two cookies I felt safe eating as a person with Celiac in Charlotte to be met with a business that refused to service me. Brought the nibblings and my father for a cool treat. Now sure if there is parking on the lower level for quick in and out visits but we entered into the garage and parked.
