Probably one of the best Turkey Sandwiches I have ever had. The sandwich is tight and super juicy. Worth every cent.

I believe that Manono's pastrami sandwich on sourdough with all the toppings could quite be a bite from heaven. No seriously. And under $10 who could go wrong! Manono Mini Mart seems to be off the beaten path but is definitely a hidden gem. The store itself features your standard "mini mart" fare however their sandwich menu is to die for. What appears to be a normal menu is certainly different when you take your first bite and feel the orgasmic feeling of amazing food. If you are in Hilo go there. If you're looking for a great fresh deli sandwich, this is your #1 stop! Not only are they a mini grocery store, they have the best sandwiches made to order and a varierty to choose from! Prices are reasonable. Private parking lot and it's free to park! My personal favorite?! The PASTRAMI! With whole wheat bread, sprouts, tomato, cheese, lettece, onions. It's unanimous!! Pastrami is king! I've lived on the big island all of my life and I still remember when the original manono mini mart was located on the same property but right up along the highway in a tiny little shack. Back then they were known for their made to order sandwiches stacked with your choice of meat, fresh tomatoes, lettuce, onions, sprouts and a slice of cheese. I like that they've kept things the way they were...like the saying goes "if it ain't broken don't fix it". My ONLY complaint is that the size of the bread got a little smaller. For just about $6, you got the biggest sandwich made for sharing you could imagine with a side of pickles, if you desire. When I'm itching for a sandwich when I'm back in my hometown, this is my one stop shop. Pastrami on wheat, grab a bag of chips, and an Arizona iced tea and I'm ready to go. For all your sandwich needs, head on over to Manono and you will not be disappointed! For those with kids: if you come early in the morning, they'll give you a couple bags of those end pieces of bread that no one really eats to feed the ducks at Wailoa State Park. How is this place rated so highly... It's literally a convince store that sells mediocre at best sandwiches. Asked for hot pastrami got cold sandwich. Asked no sprouts 10 seconds into order and lady behind the counter rudely said it's done already I can't remove them! The storefront is also a dump. Avoid if at all possible. A self-made grocery store sandwich would have been much better. read more

This place is unassuming...it's a convenience store that offers amazing sandwiches. They make simple and delicious sandwiches...fast! My go-to is the chicken salad or pastrami on multigrain or sourdough. Don't expect any frills. You go in, order your sandwich, pay and go. Very affordable for about $6/$7 a sandwich. Manono is hands down the best sandwich location on the big island. I could not believe the value. I had the large pastrami and my wife had the large turkey. My pastrami was moist and delicious. Every bite was just the perfect combination. The turkey was about an inch thick on my wife's sandwich and her eyes were rolling back in her head while eating it. you order a sandwich, and good luck with them getting your order right. i told the persons 4 times what i wanted on the thing, and each time, they ignored my request and put what i didn't want on it, then i have to waste time picking the stuff out. i don't know, it's not rocket science, you tell someone what you would like on your sandwich, and hey, it should be easy peasy. not with these sandwich makers, duh. check your order BEFORE you leave, cause almost guaranteed it will be wrong. and we just have to pay for it and eat it, and it wasn't what i wanted. i won't buy from them again. waste of money and my lunch hour! read more

I go to Manono Mini Mart every time I am in Hilo, at least once! I always have the Roast Beef on Sourdough. SO GOOD! Roast beef is cut thin the way I like it. Lots of veggies, no need for au jus here! BIG sandwich, for only $6 or so, big enough to share even, but I usually DON'T! I usually grab a little bag of chips to go with it! Just left Hilo, and wished I got one to go! Best sandwich ever! Sometimes the line is long at lunch time,, but you can even call in your order, and it will be waiting for you when you get there! read more

The bentos are so ono! Best chicken Katsu I've had in years. The sandwiches are also onolicious. Get plenty sprouts and other fresh veggies.

Famous sandwiches!!! My fave, the chicken, oooohhhhh and they have these pies made out of tofu, omgeeeee but they sure don't taste like it, I love them, i wonder if they still have them, i live out in puna and don't get a chance to venture out and eat there as much as i did when i lived on laukapu street, but mmm hmmm!!! Something good worth saying once is worth repeating! The made to order deli sandwiches here are simple, fresh and perfectly balanced -- the right amount of condiments, veggies and deli meats. As everyone else here has mentioned, the pastrami is awesome, but I'm a fan of the roast beef as well. read more

Terrible customer service. Unknowingly, I was passed a counterfeit $10 bill and gave it to my 15 year-old daughter for snacks at the Manono Mini Mart. When the counterfeit was discovered, the clerk treated my daughter like a criminal, berating and verbally abusing her the whole time until the police arrived to take her statement. She was in tears. The rude treatment she received from the clerk was uncalled for and unnecessary. I will NEVER go back. read more

i ordered two chicken salad sandwhiches, one came with half tuna and half chicken salad. The other came with all tuna. I'm so disappointed.

Whenever I get to Hilo I have to stop at Manono Mini Mart to get their pastrami sandwich. A very nice portion of lean and flavorful pastrami, with fresh crispy lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. I read a few reviews that said the staff was rude or unfriendly but I've never experienced it. Maybe you should try and smile and be nice to the hard working staff who are probably only making minimum wage and having to deal with customers with sucky attitudes all day long. Works for me! I get a great sandwich all the time, every time, plus smiles and a "thank you very much" from Sandy (I think that was the name of the cashier). This place is a small store, not a deli. But, the sandwiches are a mile better than Subway where they serve you dehydrated, brown lettuce, green tomatoes, stale bread and drown your sandwich with too much mustard even when you specifically ask for just a little and talk about bad attitudes, the Subway on Kilauea Avenue, next to Lucy's, now that's putting a whole new definition of rude and unprofessional attitudes! read more
