The lobby of the hotel is quite impressive. Amenities look pretty nice as well. The rooms, however, are a little bit dated and you could tell that they renovated the rooms, but some of the bones are still old feeling but it's fine The property is pretty large and a shares things with the residence inn. Not sure if they divided up by floors or however but it's a pretty big property if you're counting everything. The team members are pretty nice. The parking situation is interesting as well. I'm not sure how they're able to have so many spaces considering how large the hotel is. Otherwise it's a good option to stay where you're close to LAX but not that close where it's hectic.

It was $20 a night which is ridiculously expensive and it should be free for paying customers, especially when you consider that we paid about $140 a night. I believe the price for parking also changes based off of demand, as other reviews state different prices within the same month sometimes. Expect somewhere between $18 - $25 a night. Breakfast is also NOT complimentary. You'd think it would be considering all the money they make from added on fees, but nope. They completely avoided mentioning this to us until we showed up for breakfast in the morning and realized that you have to pay for it. It was overpriced and we decided to go to the local IHOP instead. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful with any questions we had. Unfortunately, we won't be staying here again. On January 4th, I stayed at this hotel and checked out on January 5th. Unfortunately, I accidentally left my Apple Watch behind. When I called about it, the staff claimed they didn't have it, but the situation has proven otherwise. On January 19th, I went back to the hotel because my Apple Watch was pinged there just 30 minutes before my arrival. An employee named Louis admitted to me that he saw the housekeeper turn in my Apple Watch and even recognized it as mine because my picture was on it. He said the housekeeper brought it to the front desk, but the manager, Mike, claimed there was no record of a watch being returned. It's clear that someone on staff stole my watch. The young man working the front desk has been shady and uncooperative since the beginning. On January 11th, when I came in to ask more questions, he acted rude and suspicious. To make matters worse, my watch has been traced all around town and even back to the hotel since then, confirming that someone who works there has it. This hotel operates with zero integrity, and I am absolutely furious. I am still responsible for this watch on my credit and phone bill, and I will not tolerate being robbed. I need to be compensated or reimbursed immediately, or I will take this matter to the next level. Everything cheap is NOT a good deal, and this hotel is a prime example. I would have gone for a snack but they didn't offer. They told me that the resort fee allows you a few special things: one was to get a discount for Equinox while you're in town. I laughed when they told me that because I'm on vacation and while I'm all about fitness, I'm not about to go to Equinox and workout, plus I was only here one night passing by. They also said to go to one of their restaurants in town and tell them that you are staying at the Shade Hotel and they will take care of me. I thought that was really nice. The third perk to this resort fee was that you got a credit at the bar it was $20 towards food or drink. I was told that if I don't use the credit at the restaurant or bar that they will put that money towards my bill and credit me at the end. I'll touch on that later. I walk into my room and I thought I was going to have a seizure or that a migraine would come on soon because they had these hideous neon blue lights bordering the bar in the room and the bed. I thought it was so tacky and awful like I was in Vegas or even better Atlantic City. The room was absolutely enormous and I had a balcony but these lights were so bright and blinding I knew there was no way this was going to fly for the night. I went downstairs and the guy explained to me how I could dim them. Baby, I don't want dim I want off. Luckily when I got back up to the room I was able to dial them completely off. The room got much better at this point except for the jacuzzi tub smack dab in the middle of the room, next to my bed, literally. It was so odd. SO odd. The bathroom vanity was open concept, jacuzzi tub then my bed. It was not for me. They had these door things you could use to close the area off, but I just have one question, why? Why was this an idea that came to fruition? The toilet had a separate area with a door. I don't know, it was weird to me. Also, alcohol everywhere in the room, bottles upon bottles. Snacks for purchase, drinks in the fridge for purchase, the usual. The amount of alcohol was shocking to me though. The TV was pretty small and awkwardly positioned a bit from the bed, the bed was comfy enough, had a good night sleep. Woke up the next morning and upon check out just double checked to make sure that the $20 would be credited to my room if I didn't use it at the bar and they said that's not a thing and they don't do that. So I'm not sure what the guy was talking about the night before. Anyways, I didn't want anything to drink so I grabbed two orders of fruit to go. This fruit, lol. It was wildly expensive for what I got I'll leave it at that. Some melon, berries, it was disappointing. Very loud at night I will say that they had the music going late, which I'm not ever going to complain about in the moment but I'm just mentioning it. What else what else. The card reader would accept the card or digital key, the door would click but the lock would not release.     Housekeeping staff is friendly and welcoming.   Room was clean but supplies were lacking less than 25% body wash (see photo).  I am very happy with the condition of the room.  Pretty much dust free from all common surfaces.  Top of ceiling fan blades need cleaning. Moving and inspections can be a headache, but their professionalism and genuine helpfulness made a stressful situation actually manageable. The staff is incredible, specifically AGM Brian, Carla, and AJay, who go out of their way to make you feel at home instead of just another guest checking in. I work in hospitality myself and treat my guests as if they were guests in my home, not just guests eating at my restaurant, so to experience that from other service industry members was a huge green flag for me. Housekeeping is top-tier, I came back to a room so clean it felt like I'd done it myself. When I needed to switch rooms, Carla handled it immediately with zero hassle. And when I accidentally left my personal pillow from home in the room I had switched from, housekeeping brought it to my new room right away. **Good Night, Don't Let the Bed Bugs Bite**…read more Since 2020, The Beach House in Hermosa Beach has been my preferred staycation destination. Although the front desk staff often made me feel more tolerated than celebrated, the stunning views kept me coming back and with no room service available, my interactions with the staff were limited to check-in and check-out, allowing me to enjoy my visits in peace. After my mother passed away in July 2025, I chose this hotel to help me cope during my first birthday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas without her. The beach has always served as my sanctuary. However, during my last stay in December 2025, I unknowingly left with an unwanted holiday gift: BED BUGS. That's right BED BUGS AT THE BEACH HOUSE, HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA! Throughout 2025, The Beach House was my only travel destination. In January 2026, I began to notice itching, and by February, I was experiencing severe reactions without understanding the cause. One night around 3 a.m., I spotted a bug crawling on my pillow. After killing it, taking a pic and asking Google to identify, I discovered it was a bed bug. Having lived in my home for over 50 years without any bed bug issues, I was shocked. I immediately contacted an exterminator, who confirmed the presence of bed bugs, likely brought in during my December visit. Given that my only travel in the past year was to The Beach House, I knew where they originated. Fortunately, I caught the problem early, but it still cost me $2,000 to eradicate them before they became an infestation. I stayed on the 3rd Floor in an Ocean Front Suite I guess you can say I got more than I bargained for. SHAME ON Beach House Hotel Hermosa Beach for not maintaining a higher standard of care to protect guests from BED BUGS!

There was a seating area, dining area, two beds, fridge, stove top, microwave, dishes, pots, pans, and generous sized bathroom. Heated pool, jacuzzi and gym to meet our fitness needs. Hot and cold breakfast options every morning which was nice. I took a couple of walks to run errands and passed an abundance of local businesses to patronize. This location is a bit further from family, however our awesome experience will cause us to become repeat guests.
