I liked the luggage rack that was available for anyone to grab and use. That was very helpful since there were 2 kids with us. Rates: become a rewards member online to get the best rates which can vary as much as $30/room depending on whether you select the option for a nonrefundable & non-cancellable rate 24 hrs after you book. The rate will also vary depending on when you book when it's high season such as summer time. Parking included and plenty of spaces. Computer room available if you need to print or access to computer. We didn't need it but nice to know it was available. Small exercise gym room also available which we did not use either. Breakfast was surprisingly quite extensive: variety of breads to toast, cereal, drinks,, coffee, make yourself waffle, sausage patty and eggs. Staff member was there cleaning up, refilling as needed and helping customers with making the waffles if needed. Room had everything for our needs - frig that was bigger than the average mini frig. Wall art had asian zen calming theme. Had a non-carpeted floor which is different (not a problem). No time to use pool. No complaints here.

Breakfast had very good options and was clean, and there were ample parking spaces available as well.

The lobby: insanely nice and clean! Smelled amazing! I was able to purchase snacks in the lobby too which is always a plus! The room: Clean and smelled amazing. I usually bring my own cleaning products anyways to just wipe down common areas only because my OCD doesn't let me sit still if I don't but nothing that I used showed signs of dust or anything! THE STAFF: (Here's where they really shine) We ran into a problem with one of our neighbors but! We contacted the hotel's front desk and OMGGGG, Alejandro is you read this, thank you! He handled my complaint seriously and with the most friendly and positive attitude! I appreciate Alejandro so much! Shoutout to the whole staff honestly because during breakfast, they were just ON IT! If they noticed that something was running low then they would stock everything right away! And if someone left a mess, it would get cleaned super quick. They were also very helpful and wonderful people. Amazing staff. I saw a couple of housekeeping ladies as well and all of them seemed positive and happy to be there. The vibes were just out of this world. I will definitely make this my permanent spot for when I travel close to there. Thank you Homewood Suites. You guys killed it! Especially Alejandro!

The card reader would accept the card or digital key, the door would click but the lock would not release.     Housekeeping staff is friendly and welcoming.   Room was clean but supplies were lacking less than 25% body wash (see photo).  I am very happy with the condition of the room.  Pretty much dust free from all common surfaces.  Top of ceiling fan blades need cleaning. The mattress needs to be flipped or replaced... when you sit down the edge it really sinks.   Food Service Staff greeted me every morning and made sure everything was setup on time.   Food offerings for breakfast has been really good.  Everything tastes and looks fresh.  There is even Almond milk available!!   The coffee that is supposed to be ready throughout the day is either cold or out.  2 days straight around 3PM... cold Robust coffee and the regular coffee is out. There is a $20/day self parking fee for a shared unsecured lot

Honestly though...Who thought decorating the room with antique furniture, heavy curtains, creepy paintings, and dim lighting was a great idea?! I'm supposed to sleep here peacefully like that wardrobe isn't about to open by itself at 3 a.m?!? Although the decor is creepy, the room is clean, and the room is spacious. Front desk staff is nice. And great options for food around and in the hotel.

Ayres strikes the perfect balance between boutique charm and affordability. The properties are clean, welcoming, and family-friendly without sacrificing comfort or quality. The staff has always treated us exceptionally well, making every stay feel personal and relaxing. One feature we especially appreciate is the thoughtful layout of the common areas. There are multiple comfortable seating spaces throughout the hotel, making it easy to gather, work, or simply unwind. The fitness center may be small, but it's well-maintained and has everything needed for a good workout. Breakfast, happy hour and dinner daily. And a surprisingly underrated perk: the conveniently located restrooms on the main floor. When you're traveling with family and the bathroom in your room is occupied, you'll be grateful for this thoughtful touch. If you're looking for a hotel that doesn't break the bank and never misses the mark, Ayres is an easy choice. We continue to return year after year and highly recommend it to anyone traveling throughout California.

**Good Night, Don't Let the Bed Bugs Bite**…read more Since 2020, The Beach House in Hermosa Beach has been my preferred staycation destination. Although the front desk staff often made me feel more tolerated than celebrated, the stunning views kept me coming back and with no room service available, my interactions with the staff were limited to check-in and check-out, allowing me to enjoy my visits in peace. After my mother passed away in July 2025, I chose this hotel to help me cope during my first birthday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas without her. The beach has always served as my sanctuary. However, during my last stay in December 2025, I unknowingly left with an unwanted holiday gift: BED BUGS. That's right BED BUGS AT THE BEACH HOUSE, HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA! Throughout 2025, The Beach House was my only travel destination. In January 2026, I began to notice itching, and by February, I was experiencing severe reactions without understanding the cause. One night around 3 a.m., I spotted a bug crawling on my pillow. After killing it, taking a pic and asking Google to identify, I discovered it was a bed bug. Having lived in my home for over 50 years without any bed bug issues, I was shocked. I immediately contacted an exterminator, who confirmed the presence of bed bugs, likely brought in during my December visit. Given that my only travel in the past year was to The Beach House, I knew where they originated. Fortunately, I caught the problem early, but it still cost me $2,000 to eradicate them before they became an infestation. I stayed on the 3rd Floor in an Ocean Front Suite I guess you can say I got more than I bargained for. SHAME ON Beach House Hotel Hermosa Beach for not maintaining a higher standard of care to protect guests from BED BUGS!
