The Sunday Farmer's Market is a MUST if you are going to Berlin!
    Jolene P.

My husband and I stayed here over Labor Day weekend.. I have been wanting to stay since it opened.. and when our Ocean City plans fell through, my husband booked at the Inn. Maya took great care of us, from the artisan breakfast AND picnic lunch for the beach, to all of the lovely treats - coffee, and GF snackies, and beautiful room. The town of Berlin is cute and quaint. The Farmer's Market on Sunday is a must.. and 10 minutes from the beach! I cannot wait to return!

I drove down to The Inn from NYC for a safe and solo recharge after finding The Inn on a mindless instagram scroll. I have been living with celiac disease for 17 years This experience was like nothing else I have ever had. During my 48 hour stay, I felt like I was living in a dream! From the deliciously thoughtful breakfast, to the carefully curated packed lunch, to the safe in-room snack selection - I was blown away by the hospitality I was shown! Maya, innkeeper/owner/chef, is simply AMAZING! Not only does she WOW you at The Inn, Maya was prepared with recommendations for local eateries and adventures. I even got to walk into town for the Sunday farmers market. I can not recommend The Inn enough for a solo recharge. If you're thinking about it, the answer is YES! I am already planning my return trip. Thank you Maya and to all of your family that has supported you in this endeavor. I can't thank you enough for this special place!

I have celiac disease, which makes traveling on vacation not much of a vacation as it involves lots of planning and anxiety in sorting out what I will be eating on the trip. This was not the case for our trip to Berlin, MD thanks to The Inn Berlin as it is completely gluten free!! The accommodations and food were absolutely amazing, and even more amazing, is that my husband (a non-Celiac) enjoyed it just as much! In addition to our stay (which includes breakfast), my husband worked with Maya, the owner, to set up a menu for private dining the three nights that we were there, including a birthday dinner for me. In addition, my husband added on the packed lunches package for our two full days there so we could have lunch on our day trips sightseeing. I didn't have to pack a cooler of food to eat (like I normally do on trips) and I didn't have to do research on safe places to eat (and deal with the anxiety that maybe they weren't so safe). It was truly a Celiac's paradise! But even more so, the hospitality and food were just spectacular. Our first night for dinner, my birthday dinner, we started off with a salad with delicious greens from a local farm followed by Surf-n-Turf. My husband and I agreed it was the best steak we have ever had, perfectly cooked! And the lobster was delicious. We finished off dinner with a delightful ginger snap cheesecake. Our second night, we had Spanish Tapas. My husband, who studied abroad in Spain, was especially excited for the Tortilla de Patatas, and it did not disappoint. I especially like the dates filled with goat cheese and wrapped in bacon, so, so good! Our last night, we had Italian. We started off with an appetizer of cantaloupe wrapped in prosciutto, a refreshing and tasty starter, followed by a delicious salad and pasta, half bolognese and half fettuccine alfredo. Then for the encore, a scrumptious tiramisu. Honestly better than the tiramisu we had in Italy; it was so good! Our breakfasts and packed lunches were just as amazing. I had the continental breakfast while my husband did Chef's choice. All of it was so good! I also really appreciated the packed lunches because we could go off and do anything, and I didn't have to worry about food, or put in effort to put something together. We could just go do what we wanted and have fun! The location of The Inn Berlin is also great! Easy drive to Assateague and Ocean City. Walking distance to downtown Berlin. Maya was super helpful in giving us ideas of things to do. We had a blast exploring the local sites. However, truly, the highlight of our trip was eating all the yummy food. Maya was so kind to us and truly took care of everything we asked for, making our trip so relaxing and enjoyable. We are already trying to figure out when we can come back as I think this place is going to become a semi-annual trip for us.

BEWARE racism, bigotry, homophobia, awkward, traumatic moments ahead if you book with Jan and Jim…read more My partner and I stayed here last Summer and made the mistake to think this would be a friendly b&b (we had known very few were we actually ever feel truly welcome) but thought to give it a chance during my sister's birthday weekend. Upon checking in, Jan eyed us up and down and did not know what to make of two feminine women who didn't seem to just be friends, let alone an inter-racial couple (she would later tell us how open she was and even wanted to someday buy a purple Polka dotted bus and park it outside her church just to show how "accepting" she was...yes, like you, we do not know what that means either). Please keep in mind, that the entire time we spent on this porch with her she refused to make eye contact with my partner, who is a woman of color (she would continue to lean on her racist, gross belief that the white woman in the relationship must be the one paying for everything). Fast forward to the morning, where we would get knocks on our door for breakfast, jolted out of bed by her telling us we must get up. We were worried what would occur if we didn't join the other guests for her breakfast. We joined everyone in the dining room, where Jan stood over each guest and would ask if you didn't finish your plate "if you did not like it? No appetite?" Awkward to say the least especially when this was not a relative who you had to politely deal with. During the breakfast, we would hear off conversations from Jan's sermon (yes you read that right) of wanting to be like the English, her pride of Daughters of the Revolution and how she wished her family had come over on the Mayflower to even talks of how amazing the 13 colonies were and how pure New England blood lines are and her love of being a devote White Anglo Saxon Christian. Meanwhile her husband, Jim stood behind her looking rather afraid and traumatized (victim we presume and he isn't allowed to leave the kitchen). She even gave the group a question and answer of how each couple met but with no surprise, stopped at us, smiled weirdly and then went to the next couple. At the end of the weekend, we checked out as early as we could and never looked back again. Do yourself a favor, and check out other spots in Berlin; this one is just not worth it.

They have a few bicycles, but some are in rough shape. The breakfast was light but delicious. There is plenty of free public parking behind the inn. So park behind them and walk through the back to the front door. The staff is friendly and did a good job cleaning the room and serving. I did not try dinner, but it was packed; I don't know if that indicates quality. But all the tables were full. For the price compared to the other hotels, it's a good choice for a couple. I'm sure you could have kids, but there is nothing on the grounds to keep them entertained. And because of that, if you stay there, you don't get the noise from screaming kids or the frat boys getting wasted next door. It's an excellent option for an overnight stay.

Review of pre-fixe 5 course dinner…read more A bygone era is alive and well here. I appreciated the service that emphasized decorum and gentleness. The courses were so different; a lot of thought has gone into the menu and prep. The crab bisque was delicious and appropriately sized. I loved the subtle touch of sherry. A smart way to begin the evening. I found the amuse bouche plate that consisted of a single scallop, French onion scone with strawberry preserves, Gruyere cheese, and other foods, to be a bit confusing. The salad plate was top notch, enjoyable. Red snapper, the main course, was right in there. A lovely fillet, placed on a bed of delicate mashed potatoes and fresh vegetable medley, was excellent. The chocolate fig cake dessert looked superb but some of the other chocolate components weren't complementary. The whole dining experience was very relaxing.

This was our first visit to this charming B&B and it was truly a positive & memorable experience. It's located within the heart of Cape May, so walking distance to a myriad of restaurants and shops and only one block from the beach. The breakfasts are delicious (we had an egg/cheese entree with ham the first day & a stuffed French toast with sausage patty the 2nd day) The daily morning and afternoon baked goods were delicious (especially the assorted breads with homemade strawberry jam!) The owners (Doug & AnnaMarie) are extremely warm and welcoming and go above and beyond & to ensure every guest felt safe during the COVID pandemic (great social distancing, mask awareness, plastic shields as needed & hand sanitizer). A well stocked 24 hr kitchen with plentiful bottled water as well. Lots of extras that you don't find in other B&Bs. They also immediately alerted us when my wife left her pocketbook behind at breakfast. You can tell that the management truly cares about making this place a great experience for their guests without cutting any corners. It's truly a beautiful property with lots of outdoor space and charming rooms each unique & all very well-maintained, extremely clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. Nothing but wonderful things to say about the Queen Victoria & we hope to be back again soon!

Check in was easy and efficient and our room was in the adjoining house with a large great-room that was stunning available to everyone staying there with a fireplace, large kitchen, sitting area and dining table. I loved that their sign said to please vacate by 9pm bc our room was on the third floor directly across the hall from it and right beside the community half-bath servicing it and the room had no soundproofing at all. You could hear even minimal talking from that great room (and it doesn't have a door). That is my only complaint about this Inn. The provided breakfast daily was wonderful. The first day we had quiche and the second we had chocolate chip pancakes. All made fresh when you sit down and included sides, coffee, fruit, and yogurt. Really delicious and good quality and the staff were so nice. My husband is diabetic and they easily modified the options to meet his lower carb/sugar request. They also have daily evening tea with a sweet treat which is fun and coffee, tea, and lemon water are available all day and night. Our room was beautiful and looked exactly like the photos and the inn is so charming. Perfect landscaping, all common areas are so cute, and the location is to die for right on the beach, with access to the sand just steps from the lovely wrap-around porch. We were unlucky and it was basically a freezing Nor'easter the weekend we came, so we didn't get to enjoy the beach, the bikes, or any of the out door amenities - but we still found it charming and enjoyed both the Inn and the town. Hopefully, we can come back again in the fall and enjoy milder weather.

My son found the chicken cooked enough, I found it a tad undercooked. The cheese fondue was very good, but I think it was "split" giving it a slightly lumpy texture. There were plenty of potatoes and veggies for four on the platter. We HAD to have dessert, but as stuffed as we were , we ordered for 2. There was more than enough for 4. As well, previous igloo visit options provided fondue for 2 (not 5!) and could be altered for one meat and one seafood eater however this time we would've had to at $240 to get both. At minimum $120+$10-$12 extra to add one skewer. Although the ambiance is an "experience" it was not a satisfying culinary experience. As well, it was not clear we couldn't divide our checks up amongst each couple as most all restaurants can do. (Can only do 2 checks, we had 3 couples) It was more cumbersome on the waitress and us than just charging each couple one bill, we weren't sharing food or said put half this on each etc. it was clearly just 3 couples. As for what we did get... if crab dip hadn't had a shell in it I wouldn't have believed it had any crab in it, just cheese flavor. Steak skewer was well done (no choice given) yet veggies were aldente (to say the least). Wine was good but limited selection. I really don't understand why I can eat one think inside yet can't 20' away we would've had a much better experience if some accommodating had been offered on any of the above issues.
