It's meh for me. The outside landscaping is nice and it is a close location to the boardwalk. This is what gives it an extra star. The room overall was spacious. The downside about being so close to the boardwalk is that you can hear everyone walking up and down the street and their conversations. We were on the bottom level so we heard everything! You can also hear other tenants conversations in detail through the walls of the bathrooms. In addition, the max height in the basement rooms is probably 5'7. I'm 5'2 and I could literally touch the ceiling without any effort. The cleanliness of the room was dubious at best. Things had an extra layer of dust on it which meant to me that the room hadn't been cleaned in a while. They had an identified stain on them -- could be blood, could be pasta sauce. Breakfast was meh but it was included in the price. Related to the breakfast, if you were in the rooms you could smell the breakfast being made. Normally, that wouldn't be a bad thing. However, the first morning we were there someone was burning bacon and that was all I could smell in the morning. Ironically, One of my roommates burns their bacon every. single. morning. I was hoping for two days away from the smell of burning bacon but to no avail. If you have an allergy don't believe them when they say just let them know and they will accommodate you. I was only able to eat the fruit. So if you're looking for just a place to put your head at night that gets you extremely close to the boardwalk and you don't care about cleanliness or sleep, this might be the place for you. read more

My fiance and I have stayed in a number of places in Ocean City over the last decade or so. This is the best one we've found. You can't beat the price to stay here. The house is quiet and peaceful. There are plenty of relaxing places to sit outside, whether it's on one of the decks or the spacious front porch. The rooms are nicely appointed and have everything you'd expect. Both the rooms and bathrooms are cleaner than most OCMD hotels. Only downside is the wifi is pretty slow. Download your podcasts and Netflix shows before checking in. The best part is the breakfast. There's a wide variety of sweet and savory things to get your day started. For me, this is the biggest plus, considering the lack of places to get a quality, sit-down breakfast in OCMD. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Rooms were comfortable and very clean. Beds comfortable, sheets soft, decor was pleasing, and it's in a great location. Can walk to the beach - it's just right across the street. Innkeepers were so accommodating - we asked for a ground floor room for my mom and the room was perfect with it's own separate entrance. The room we had inside the house was upstairs from the beautiful lobby. Rooms had hair dryers and soap and shampoo and hooks for hanging towels/clothes - everything we needed. This inn is in a great location and we were at Assateague Island in minutes. Also shopped at nearby historic town of Berlin. Excellent restaurants near this inn. We plan on returning! My visit was very disappointing. It was very clear hospitality was not a priority. This was my first and likely last stay. I called ahead for a check in time a little after the set hours. They did not wait even the 15 minutes asked. After struggling to understand the parking direction our room was not comfortable. The bed creaked so loudly with each movement it was difficult to sleep. The sheets were stained. There was also a lot of street noise. The towels were all tiny. I had to figure out how to use the ac unit without assistance. My dietary accommodations at breakfast were minimal. The breakfast itself was also on par with a typical continental breakfast at a hotel. It in no way stood out. I do agree the location is great. Overall if you are just looking for a place to rest this will do. read more

My boyfriend and I recently stayed here for a long weekend trip and they have a new lifetime customer! Not only was this place cute and quaint, but the owners do their best to make you feel right at home. Each morning we were provided a delicious hot breakfast with cold breakfast options, and the location of this place makes it super convenient for beach goers or people interested in the boardwalk. The owners are extremely personable and we were met each day with smiles, hellos, and great conversation. We did not run into anybody else living there other than at breakfast, so although we shared a room area with another couple, we did not feel our privacy was invaded at all. You are welcome to come and go as you please and I think this place is a true hidden gem in the massively corporate area of OCMD. I wanted to begin with a special thank you to Brian and Josephine for accommodating us for our first visit to OC. We were greeted as soon as we got there. We stayed in the top floor in room number 7. The positives about this room is we had our own private bathroom inside room and good view off Baltimore Ave. Some things you should keep in mind the bathroom is tight and not the hugest bed and room. But me and my girlfriend did not mind as we weren't on planning to spend much time in the room. Plus we got a nice view of Baltimore Ave The breakfasts were pretty good and consisted of mostly all homemade prepared meals. It beats a continental breakfast any day. There is a hot tub on one of the platforms on the second floor but never got the opportunity to use it. Other things you should know is parking is provided in Comfort Inn lot, you are one block away from the beach/Boardwalk, and check out is at 11am. Overall I had a great time and if I am in OC again I will probably stay here. read more

My boyfriend and I are a young couple, we like the nightlife of ocean city but not the cheap motels and hotels. We were looking for a romantic getaway and some fun! Well we found the perfect place to stay, and we are certain that this is the only place in OC that we would want to stay. Brian and Josephine are sweethearts and they also make a breakfast to die for! With that combo, we hit the jackpot at their bed and breakfast! To be honest- I want this to be our little secret.... About how good it is. (Selfish me) I agree with almost every review on here, you stay here- you won't regret it. We stayed in room #10, beautiful swing out front to relax in the morning or to people watch. The room was perfect for 2 people. We didn't use our car once during our trip because we were in walking distance or a bus ride from everything. Just returned from our stay in room 7. We stayed in the same room about 5 years or so ago. The place has definitely had some cosmetic upgrades as a whole. Fresh paint, new furniture. Location is awesome right by the boardwalk but quieter than the places right on it. The bed was comfy the room and bathroom are small but for a night or 2 its sufficient. The breakfast was good. Nothing above and beyond but no complaints either. I do miss the evening snacks and treats the previous owners would have out. We loved how clean everything was and the new brighter decor. Coming here feels like coming home or visiting family or friends plus it's at a neat location. Even though it was our first time visiting, we were welcomed so warmly. We had a wonderful stay at this lovely place. Brian and Josephine were so friendly and helpful. They were the perfect host and hostess. We stayed in Room 8 on the third floor. We loved the comfortable beds, the mini-fridge, the TV with cable, and the cute decor. Brian was kind to help my mom with her bags. They even made some popcorn and had it waiting for us when we checked in. The breakfast was incredibly wonderful and delicious. They have the most amazing spread, and the one of the best breakfasts we've ever had. They had everything from make-your-own waffle station where we had a choice of regular or chocolate waffles, on the griddle were sausages, just-made delicious egg item (forgot what it was called, but it was really good) mixed with fresh veggies (spinach, tomatoes, etc) and mozzarella, fresh fruit, great pastries/breakfast bread (my favorite was the chocolate banana bread that Josephine made and my son loved the chocolate chip bread), and a variety of cereal. To drink were the choices of coffee, tea, water, milk, apple juice, and orange juice Some great things about Atlantic House Bed & Breakfast: - Great location, near the beach - Wonderful Host and Hostess - Free WiFi - Cute breakfast nook to eat breakfast at in the morning - Plenty of board games and books to read in the nook area - An amazing and delicious breakfast in the morning Also, a lot of places say that they support veterans, but Brian & Josephine actually show their support with their actions rather than just saying it. This place is simply amazing! Just feet from all the action of the boardwalk yet quaint and homey. We're talking about the type of place where not one piece of furniture is alike and homemade baked goods are set out for you in the evening. Our room was nice and super clean. We stayed in Room 9, which is a smaller room on the third floor that shares a bathroom with another guest room. The shared bathroom was a bit of a concern originally but was never an issue during our actual stay. The bathrooms were clean and always accessible when needed. Never felt as if we were even sharing. The owners/Innkeepers Brian and Josephine are genuinely nice people who are incredibly friendly. We were graciously greeted for a late check in and were immediately treated like family. No, not like extra towels and mints on your pillow "family". I mean easy to talk to, relatable and truly concerned with making your stay as pleasant and enjoyable as possible. The breakfast was ridiculously tasty! The menu included fresh fruit, delicious assorted pastries, ham and cheese quiche, crispy bacon, savory sausage patties, five cheese egg bake (so good), coffee and fresh juices. Oh you like homemade waffles? Well how about blueberry waffles? Better yet, how about strawberry waffles in a beautiful sun room facing the boardwalk? Yeah, it's that kind of place. This was our first stay at the Atlantic but it will not be our last. We greatly enjoyed our stay. The room was small but clean and nicely decorated. We stayed in room 6 and the bathroom dedicated to that room in in the hall - not an unusual turn of events for a B and B. You have your own key to the bathroom so it is yours exclusively. If you are planning to stay here, please read reviews written in the past 15 months. Anything older is about the previous owner who was far superior to what this place is now. It is not the same. The cleanliness, attention from staff, responsiveness, availability of staff to help, all not the same. Location is great, breakfast is good, the rest...not good. Our last stay included waiting for the owner to show up for 45 minutes to check us in. Our rooms not being cleaned the next day and me having to get more towels myself. No evening snacks. My girlfriend and I visited Ocean City for the first time last week and we could not have possibly had a better time. Much of that was due to this amazing B&B. Brian and Josephine are the nicest, most friendly hosts anyone could ever ask for while staying at a Bed & Breakfast. The bedrooms are beautiful and clean, and the breakfast nook is incredibly charming. We both agreed on our last day that we really didn't want to leave. My friend and I recently visited Ocean City for the first time and stayed at Atlantic House for three nights. I was a bit wary staying at a B&B for the first time, but I couldn't have had a better experience! Brian and Josephine were incredibly kind and accommodating. Brian helped unload my car and carried our bags up to our room! They had excellent suggestions for places to go and where to eat, and it seemed important to them that we were enjoying OC, and what it had to offer. The location was excellent as well - a block to the beach and boardwalk. The breakfasts each morning were great! I'm a vegetarian and they went out of their way to make meat-free options for me every day! Delicious baked goods were left out every evening as well. My favorite was the chocolate chip cookies! We stayed in room 10 for 2 nights. Room is in serious need of renovation. There was a lot of mold around the shower, and the window air conditioner was dirty and smelled of mold. The floor in front of and under the shower was spongey and seemed ready to collapse. The TV remote did not work. The towels were small and threadbare. On the plus side, the air conditioner kept the room confortable. The bed was comfortable too. The breakfast was okay, nothing special. The innkeeper was pleasant and helpful. For the amount we paid, we could have stayed in a very nice 4 star hotel. read more

They know so much about the area, restaurants and the breakfast was the best, I didn't even have to eat lunch! The best part was that the owners remembered all the small details about our stay. Without a doubt the Atlantic House was one of the most spectacular B&B experiences my wife and I have had. The B&B is in a great central location in Ocean City, easy access to boardwalk, the 'downtown' area, beach, etc. Cute rooms, free wifi, best creme brûlée french toast breakfast I've ever had, and tasty apple brownie bars with tea and coffee in the evening. Brian and Josephine, the owners and inn keepers are some of the friendliest people I've met, and certainly the most attentive of inn keepers, but certainly not overboard by any means. Under new ownership and not the same place we have been coming to for the last 20 yrs. The new owners left guests stranded outside during normal check in time. They could be reached by phone and told guests they had to wait for someone to come back later. The second morning the owner left during breakfast with guest still coming down to eat. No plates available and the breakfast was not replenished. In the evening they are never around if you need anything. Were only available by phone! The bathrooms were filthy. Old soap and dirty washcloths left in shower. Stained sheets, mold in AC units. Cracked glass in windows. Talking with other guest during stay and found all the beds were old and caving in. The plants are dying in the pots in dining area. The homelike feeling is gone. Disappointed to seeing the place get run down after knowing all the TLC the pervious owners put in the to building it up. read more

I had never stayed in a B&B before, but we wanted to go to Ocean City, and all the hotels we could afford were kinda ... sketchy. So we tried Atlantic House instead, and I would go back in a heartbeat. It was great! The whole place feels like home, except it's someone else's house, and they're really great hosts. The owners are Brian and Josephine, and they introduced themselves right off the bat when we entered, all smiles and helpfulness, then showed us around and helped us get settled in. They were great throughout, full of information (including a great tip about a free concert the first night we were there). Brian even made a point of saying goodbye as we were going- it was important to them that we had a good time. And we really did! The breakfast was wonderful- homemade egg casserole or quiche (depending on the morning), sausage or bacon, plenty of homemade sweets, and happily lots of fruit. Plus plenty of coffee. The amenities, generally, were great. The room was cozy, with a nice old bed*, a place to hang your clothes if you're into that, and a fridge. We stayed in room 6, which has a shared bathroom, to save money, but there was never a line and we did not regret that decision. There's also a hot tub, free beach towels and chairs for guests, and the kind of cozy decorations that remind you of your grandparents' house. Old books, fake portholes, and everything. One note: I didn't want to take a a star off for this, but the bed did creak fairly loudly. I toss and turn at night, and it was fairly loud. It would have been a problem, except my partner had no problem falling back asleep and didn't even remember it waking her up (it did). With a different couple it would have been more of a problem, but I won't take a star off since it didn't create a problem for us. Just be warned. read more

Good breakfast, i was in room 4, it was a cute room, the bathroom was across the room, not inside. It wasnt a big deal, but the AC didnt work. If you're looking for a quaint B&B, gracious hosts, a block away from the boardwalk/beach, then Attantic House is an ideal choice for your Ocean City pleasure. Brian and Josephine were such accommodating hosts. The Atlantic House breakfast buffet started at 8am and plates and silverware were on the table to help yourself to a hot entree, fruit, variety of juices, coffee, tea, pastries, as well as a 'make your own waffles' station. Seating was available in the breakfast nook and front porch area. We weren't the biggest fans of the homestyle breakfast buffet only because other B&Bs we have visited often serve breakfast around the dining room table at a set time to encourage socializing with other guests. We stayed in Room 7 on the the third floor --one of the rooms with it's own private bathroom and a mini-fridge. We would have liked a larger tv and bathroom, but overall it was a comfortable and cozy retreat. Josephine recommended Seacrets for our entertainment pleasure and On the Bay Restaurant for all-you-can-eat crabs. Seacrets is a must do daytime or nighttime--an open air bar/music venue located on 49th St (don't skip the Pain In De --- signature cocktail). On The Bay Restaurant was perfect choice for for $25 All-You-Can-Eat Crabfest located on 42nd St (don't skip the corn on the cob). PROS: Conveniently located midway up the length of the boardwalk. Beach shuttle bus (B) could be accessed just across the street. Hot tub on the deck. Warm cookies in the evening. Beach towels and chairs. CONS: No bicycles. No handicap accessible ramps. TIPS: Boardwalk stops we recommend: Thrasher's fries with vinegar, Piezano's Pizza, Fisher's caramel popcorn, and the Alaska Stand for burgers, hot dogs, etc. OVERALL: Great location, free WiFi, and pleasant hosts. read more

Perfect location right across the street from the boardwalk strip. We had room 7 which is the only room with an ocean view. They provide beach towels, a cooler, and chairs. Breakfast was crazy good and included an egg bake, crispy bacon, fruit, cheese Danish, raisin bread, good OJ, coffee, and of course fresh fruit. We played games at night and enjoyed fresh baked brownies. Free internet was nice and she also gave us coupons for the museum at end of pier. They told us about good places to eat and places to see. I just can't imagine staying anywhere else while in ocean city. We saw people paying big bucks for so so breakfast plates and parking, where we had free parking included. We checked out by 11:00 and left our car parked in free parking for the day. Josephine surprised us when we stopped by to rinse off and return our towels. I write this as my family and I are in the middle of our fourth stay at the Atlantic House. You couldn't ask for a better location (one block off the boardwalk) or better hosts. The accommodations are always clean and in great shape. The breakfasts and afternoon snacks are amazing. The hosts are so warm and friendly and make you feel like family. They'll help you with anything you could possibly need and sit on the porch with you in the evening and chat over a glass of wine. My now fiancé and I found Atlantic House after looking for an affordable, but quaint and romantic place to stay for the weekend. We couldn't have made a better choice. Atlantic House is a cute house with tons of ocean charm just steps from the boardwalk. We stayed in Room 7 on the third floor of the house -- one of the rooms with its own bathroom. The room had a view of the ocean and a peaked ceiling and wood paneling -- it felt like we were visiting with relatives at a family camp. Brian and Josephine were wonderful hosts -- the best we could have asked for on our first B+B experience. They showed us around and gave us guides to the best restaurants and bars in the area and recommended places in the area with good live music. When we came back after dinner our first night, warm cookies were waiting by the front door for us and the other guests. Brian and Josephine also make a mean breakfast, with eggs, make your own waffles, fresh fruit, cereal, and plenty of good coffee. Guests can sit in a little sunroom or out on the huge front porch. Both mornings we ate so much that we hardly had an appetite when lunch came around. And they were more than happy to accommodate my fiancé, who is a vegetarian. The weekend we visited, the weather was cloudy and rainy, but on the day we checked out, it was beautiful. We had to head back to the city, but Brian and Josephine offered the use of the outdoor shower and beach towels in case we wanted to stick around to enjoy the (finally) sunny weather. In short, Atlantic House is the perfect way to spend a romantic weekend in Ocean City. It's quaint and homey, and a great place to stay if some aspects of the boardwalk (say, 60 oz. margaritas or day-glo pinneys) aren't quite your speed -- or even if they are. read more
