Mante House has great food for great prices! If you order within a 2 mile radius they do deliver, which is extremely convenient. Delivery usually takes 30 - 40 minutes but sometimes it arrives quicker. With your order you get a selection of dipping sauces as well - they have a large variety to pick from and they all taste amazing. The mante always tastes delicious. Last weekend, however, I happened to be traveling home on the 210 and stopped by. They offer different types, but I ordered mine traditional style. Mante is a Middle Eastern food and its original roots comes from turkey. I remember eating my grandmas hand made mante when I was little. And I watched her making them from time to time which is very time consuming and lots of preparation before it goes In the oven. They are like dumplings and it usually comes with beef. Unfortunately I never learned how to cook it but thank goodness I finally found mante house that makes this incredible dish very close to what I remember. To me this dish is the queen of food and I've eaten lots of mante from different restaurants or even home made and I know what's good and the best. Don't look any further In LA. Mante house got it to the point. They also make it with veggies that I'm gonna try one day. And they went beyond by making them in to sandwiches, nachos and even burgers. But I would try the original if it's your first time. $16 for large size that 3 people can enjoy this amazing and delicious food, you can't go wrong! I've tried this place twice only and both time was excellent. First time we ate it there and Yesterday I bought it frozen and my wife cooked it at home and the whole family including cousins loved it and thought it is way worth it. I don't really know what's so special about this place. First of all, customer service was very bad. First thing I noticed before we even came in was the counter person was texting and it seems like she's just waiting to get out. We had to ring the bell in order to get their attention because they were all in the back. We ordered a mante with a side of garlic sauce and "luisiana spicy chipotle sauce" and the garlic sauce did not taste garlicy at all! The spicy sauce was just a regular frank's red hot! And we also ordered sides of macncheese balls and potato balls. Those are not that bad. Though I prefer the portos potato balls. The cabbage salad threw me off. It tasted like toothpaste. I never had a salad that tasted like that. And when we tried to exchange it to a different side, the "owner" looked very irritated and annoyed. I would have been very forgiving if he did not have to make any facial expression when he was helping us. Overall, I did not have a good experience in this place and it makes me wonder how they bought all the good reviews on yelp when the food tasted like crap. We understand that we all have different taste and you cant please everyone Mr. "Owner" but it would not hurt to atleast give the best you can to every customer who would walk in to your place and not give them an irritated facial expression. This is an interesting type of food that not everyone might like because it is out of people's comfort zone. People are used to the typical burgers, pizzas, chinese food etc. I had never tried Mante before and didn't even know that it was middle eastern food. I decided to try it after passing by a million times, and i'm glad I did. The food is great, I chose the small mante size with garlic sauce. The garlic sauce is something my family makes all the time and it was amazing, like home made. The Mante was crunchy and very delicious. I was skeptical to try it cause I thought it would taste like chips (lol) but no, it was great. Tujunga needs more restaurants like this to expand its varieties. I saw some reviews about "customer service" and I just want to correct some people. The workers are in the back and come to the front when you enter or when you ring the bell. The whole point of the bell is to be rung (duh). The girl in the front is really helpful and the person that brought the food was really nice. No complaints. Mante House takes this concept and provides it BUT they also have crazy items that I didn't try but really want to such as Mante Po Boy, Mante pizza (topped off with like cilantro, jalapeno, and other toppings) and a mante grilled cheese sandwich. Mante soup? It was a special for today, it's a thing ya'll. WHHHAAAAA? I like that here in Sunland-Tujunga someone takes a concept and just goes with it! The sides that can come with your meal seem like stuff you'd get at a run of the mill potluck (mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, fries and rice) for the one exception: cabbage salad. I went for that and mmmm very good. It's so light with a hint of herb/slight sour notes. It's an excellent counterbalance to the mante. Oh but wait there's more, the mante can come with sauce! I went with the traditional yogurt/garlic but you can go nuts have NACHO CHEESE with your mante! I mean dude, if I could eat that, I would in a heartbeat! Alas, I'm trying to watch what I eat so I had to hold back. Now for some words of caution: Mante takes a bit to make so don't order this and expect that it comes out to you in two seconds. Good food takes good time. Parking: like many business on Foothill Blvd is basically street parking. It's a pain but just have patience and walk a few extra steps. After having mante you'll probably need to walk a few extra steps anyhow. First impression: when I got in there I patiently waited for about a minute before I started to wonder, "is anybody actually here?" since nobody was at the cash register. Just ring the bell, it will be fine and seems acceptable. Inside of the establishment is tiny (but clean!) and they do have outdoor seating! :) So would I come back? Heck ya mante is good!
