Mante is one Mediterranean dish I often crave but it takes so long to make. This place has one of the best mantes I've ever had. What I love the most is it tastes like when I make it at home. Not only is the food delicious the way they made their menu is so cool. They put their own twist to it and you can get it with toppings. They even have a variety of sauces to choose from. Me and my girlfriend have become addicted to Mante so we decided to find new locations. We've tried Turkish (Anatolian) manti and Afghan Mantu. So Armenian Mante was new to us. They were awesome! We ordered both types of the dumpling. A large half regular and half Greek style feta, and 6 dumplings. We also took a medium to go since we live almost 1 hour 30 minutes+ away. The person who served us was also very friendly and great to talk with. Definitely coming back here, wished they had a location closer to Orange County. read more

Gave this place another try today and had a much better dining experience. I came in with my grandma and sister and were greeted my the cashier who was very friendly. We all ordered the mante squares - two meat, one with greek salad, and one with fries, and veggie mante (which is vegan as well!!) with mac n cheese for me. Food took about 10 mins to be brought out to us. My mante tasted great and so did the mac n cheese. Everything was a lot less oily this time! Chipotle sauce and garlic yogurt were awesome. It's a small place with few outdoor seatings and they also deliver. Park on the streets or illegally in the YMCA lot. It's ok when you don't get caught. The taste. Quite salty for me but it was very tasty. I got the smallest size and I only finished half of it and tossed the rest of it. The cabbage salad was good. I will go back if I need some sodium kick! My family and I were really pleased by the appearance and taste of the Mante pizza from Mante House. For $15 you can bring a large one home. It comes with (4) side sauces -- I recommend the garlic yogurt, not quite sure what the other selections are. The dish is a bit on the oiler side, but they have to bake it somehow! I would skip out on the potato balls, because let's be honest here, nothing really compares to Porto's. A for the effort though. Since my childhood I've eaten Mante. My mom, my aunts, and many other family has made mante, and I mean some bomb mante!! Little did I ever know that they would come up with a restaurant that would make it. I have to admit that I pass by this spot very often and I am very skeptical about the food. The mante that I know of takes time to make. It is a bit of a tedious process to wrap this little things up and line them up and cook it. So a few days ago I took the risk!! lol Its not much of a risk, but you know, with my background of eating these homemade, its a bit risky. I called in and asked if they deliver, and they said yes. I told them I wanted to order a medium, cause they stated that that it feeds 2-3 people. They asked if I wanted extra sauce, I said sure why not. My total came to $14.70. She says 'the minimum for delivery is $15.' I was feeling sick or I would have argued for that $0.30 instead of ordering a larger plate. So in order not to argue, I ordered a larger plate which cost me $2 and she didnt think anything of it! Sorry to say, but that bothers me. They made the delivery in 30 minutes and low and behold I have my mante before me... I took the first piece, dipped it into the garlic yogurt sauce (which I am lactose intolerant, so I God help the people around me that day... thankfully I was sick and there was no one around me LOL), and I took my first bite. Man, it was delicious!! I seriously loved it! It tasted so good!! I ate about half of the box, which I probably could have eaten more, but I wanted to leave some for the family. I think if I got a medium, I would have maybe finished the whole thing, lol. I'll probably eat here again, but I am honestly bothered by that stupid $0.30 that they wouldnt give in to. Stopped in when their Grand Opening sign finally appeared out front. Their focus is the Armenian "Mante" - tasty tiny bits of pasta-wrapped filling (beef, chicken, or veggie). Fun as finger food, but a bit on the greasy side, so a fork/knife are definitely reasonable options. They serve it with a selection of dipping sauces - Original garlic/yogurt, Luisiana Style, Chipotle Cream, Nacho Cheese, or Sour Spices. We tried the Original and Nacho Cheese and found the nacho cheese disappointingly bland, but the Original was a wonderful complement to the mante. You can also get your mante as a grilled cheese sandwich, po-boy style (deep fried in a roll), or as a mante-seasoned beef burger (available gluten-free). For party time, they offer the "Manizza" - large platters of mante in 12", 14", or 16" options, just like pizza. (Great gamer food option.) We tried the potato ball, and found it a bit on the bland side - definitely a "comfort food" kind of option. The cabbage salad we ordered served as part of our combos is AMAZING. We kept expecting it to be harsher, pickled like many options found in Armenian venues, but it was never aggressive. This is not to say it lacked flavor - on the contrary it has a magnificent combination of spices, and the flavor evolves wonderfully throughout the course of a bite. They've added a great little patio seating area out front (which will be awesome when the weather inevitably warms back up). Unfortunately it's street parking only, but worth it. The staff was incredibly gracious and helpful, even when obviously just getting up to speed. It's been less than a week and I already find myself itching to go back. I need to try the veggie and chicken versions! And maybe a mac&cheese ball. I listed it as 4-star mostly because it's not a mind-blowing kind of place (and realistically my diet should contain more veggies than cabbage), but if you're looking for a tasty, solid, casual dining option this ranks way up there - I wish Yelp would allow me to add partial stars. read more

After eating the Mante at this spot I would never think it would even come close to my Grandmas Mante but it did. The Mante was great, sauces were delicious and the service was top tier. This spot is small and very clean, the guy at the front was nice and helpful. I didn't try anything else but the Mante but I'm sure everything is good. They can make the Mante there or you can take it home frozen where it would need some butter and 30 min or less in the oven on bake at 350 degrees . Not like grandmas mante, but definitely delicious! I'm so glad it's close to home :) I suggest calling in 20 minutes before because it does take sort of a long time to come out of the oven. I also suggest eating it right away while it's hot and fresh. I love the crispy edges and the soft and delicious middle with the original garlic and yogurt sauce dip. So so good! Stopped here to try the Mante and Byblos is closed on Mondays. Family run with adorable boys taking orders and serving cold water and drinks from silver trays. Mante is interesting in a good way and salty. It's more like an appetizer than a meal.
