I'm so happy we stumbled upon this family-owned shawarma spot while passing through Glendale. We were looking for something open late and somehow ended up finding some of the best lamb chops I've ever had in my life. The marinade. The smoke. The sear. The cook. Absolutely perfect. The lamb chops came out beautifully medium-rare with a crust that belonged in a culinary magazine. That first bite genuinely left me speechless. I actually stopped eating and looked back at the sign because I could not wrap my head around the fact that these lamb chops had just been handed to me in a to-go container. I was positive they had somehow escaped from a five-star steakhouse. They were served over a bed of rice with fresh lavash, topped with incredibly fresh onions and cilantro, plus a side salad and delicious homemade hummus. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. We also tried the Lula kebab, which was delicious in its own right, but unfortunately for the Lula, it had to share a table with those lamb chops. There was simply no competing. I also ordered a tiny cup of Armenian coffee, and do not let that adorable little cup fool you! It packs a serious kick! We tried the Okroshka as well, a refreshing yogurt drink with cucumber and dill that tasted like someone's Armenian mom made it in her kitchen and handed it to us herself. It had that comforting, homemade quality you just can't fake. Next time, I'm trying the grape leaves and beef. And yes, I said next time, despite the fact that this would be roughly a 70-mile round trip for us. But when the lamb-chop craving hits? Apparently we're driving to Glendale. Bonus points for being open late. This little family-owned spot was such an unexpected find, and those lamb chops alone are worth coming back for. read more

Delicious food friendly service. We ordered wraps and fries all were delicious. Staff was friendly and helpful, JacobV educated us on the ordering process and gave us suggestions for next time. He and the other staff made an effort to get to know us. There are some tables to eat there but it's kinda small. There was plenty of parking. I will return and order another wrap. read more

Second for me was the **lamb**, which was rich and flavorful. Then the beef, which was still delicious but just slightly behind the others for me. (My husband ranked them differently his favorite was the beef, then chicken, then lamb so honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them.) One thing that really stood out was the bread. He uses fresh lavash, and while you *can* choose other bread, I highly recommend sticking with it. It's soft, fresh, and honestly even better than pita. Also don't skip the drinks! He had this basil mint tea with cinnamon and cloves, and it was incredible. Refreshing, slightly spiced, and tasted super clean and healthy. I literally drank the whole thing immediately. Not horrible But compared to the rest of the shawarma spots in the city I have to be honest here of course. Lacking ingredients. Shawarma was there yes beef and chicken, basically with lettuce. At least throw a few tomatoes in there. Sauce is mid, not much taste going on, definitely not spice. The wrap itself was a bit tough to chew. Hummus was mid, just felt like it was lacking in each part. Don't see this place lasting that long, the competition is too fierce. Of all the shawarmas in Glendale, I think this is now my favorite one. Went here for a quick grab and go for lunch and ordered the chicken wrap and it was so good. I paid around $16-$17 per wrap for two meals plus drinks, and my total came out to about $40 and change--and I left still starving. The wraps were mostly lettuce with barely any meat. For that price, it's just not acceptable. You expect a shawarma wrap to be filling, not feel like a light salad rolled in bread. I genuinely don't understand how this place has such high ratings. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but based on my visit, the portions are way off for what they charge. Definitely not worth the price. read more
