Coffee & mimosa flight? Yes, please.
Tom V.

Is there any better portmanteau than the word BRUNCH? When else can you combine two wonderful options for breakfast and lunch, usually happening after you've in the middle of a relaxing morning? Early Bird is just this kind of place. The menu is chock-full of brunch options, punctuated by mimosas in several varieties. Their specialty dishes are sublime, starting with the OG French toast, or get the Farnam French toast, topped with a sweet mascarpone cheese & a caramel drizzle. My lovely wife made very quick work of this dish, even before I could get a photo op! Omelets & Benedicts ('Hollandaise of Our Lives') are all over the place with tons of options to suit virtually any palate. Early Bird also has plenty of options for the back half of the brunch hour, such as a Crabcake Benedict, multiple chicken sandwiches, and heartier burger fare, because Nebraska. Wash any or all of that back with brunch-style cocktails such as a mimosa selection or a hearty Bloody Mary. Any of those choices are guaranteed to give you an opportunity to dial it back a bit and just enjoy your morning. Service was spectacular, even on a busy Saturday morning. Seating is plentiful and with a full bar, there is ample space for those flying solo. Parking is fairly easy in this area, maybe with a few added steps, but still easy. Early Bird delivers amazing value with their menu and our experience (especially with that mimosa flight!) was nothing short of spectacular!

Tasty food. excellent services and great atmosphere. It was busy during Mother's Day but the wait was worth it!!!

Very good breakfast spot close to downtown and Creighton University. The employees were friendly and sat our party in a cute round table that can seat probably 8. I had the early bird omelette that you can choose your own veggies and proteins, it's nice that it comes with both hash browns and toast. The vanilla latte was served in a giant mug that was delicious! We also had the crab cake Benny and waffle which was delicious! Solid place for breakfast that opens early at 6:30am.

French toast sticks

WOW! Every bite is delicious! I wish I could eat here daily to try each item on the menu. We started with the brioche French toast sticks which were a perfect combination on crunchy and soft on the inside. I love eggs Benedict so I got the cold smoked salmon Benny. It was like sushi and breakfast combined... so so good. The avocado made the dish. My husband got the chicken and waffles and the chicken was just so tender. Our server was great and friendly and we loved all the cute seating options and early bird decor. It is a bit higher priced than regular breakfast places, but you quickly realize it is worth the bill.

My favorite breakfast spot. I think they're the only ones in town that get the smoked salmon Benedict right. Good portions, and their breakfast potatoes are tasty as well.

Chorizo Eggs Benedict

I was in Omaha for a long weekend stay with my family, and it was a struggle to find a brunch spot to eat at. We stumbled upon the Early Bird in the beautiful Blackstone District, and it struck our eye immediately. It has a very new and fun decorated interior, with a fully stocked bar and happy hour specials. The food was amazing, with myself getting a Chorizo Eggs Benedict, which was on their specials menu. The avocado crema and chorizo were incredibly tasty, and the hash browns were very crunchy which immediately stands out to me compared to soggy hash. My mom also had candied bacon with her meal, which I had never had before and were equally tasty. I would highly recommend anyone stopping by the Blackstone District to stop here for breakfast OR lunch, as their sandwiches looked great as well. I will be stopping by again for a bacon flight if i'm ever in town!

I had a great time eating at Early Bird! It was my first time, but we got seated immediately and I really enjoyed the El Gordo Burrito. It was HUGE and topped with an avocado cream and queso!! Unlimited free refills on the drip coffee too :) great music and vibes too. I'll be back!

HASH HOLES and early bird held on fruit or hash browns which comes with the early bird
Mary M.

All the rave for the hash holes! They were absolutely delicious and savory and it comes with a sauce. I ordered the early bird and held on the hash browns/ fruit that come with it simple because I knew the hash holes would be filling. It's so colorful in this location and I love it. It was very packed with a line outside as well for waiting. I sat at the bar with no wait so if you can do that then that would be my suggestion.

Came here to have breakfast before going to the zoo with the family. I'm so happy we got there early as it really started to pick up closer to 9 o'clock and we had a large party ! Our server was great and gave us recommendations and the food came out shortly after. This place has kids meals, which makes it very family friendly to eat here. Do not skip the banana bread French toast. As I now consider it a primary food group. The restaurant inside is very clean and very hip with bright vibrant colors.

Every time I have been to Early Bird it has been good. They do get busy on the weekends so definitely check or join the waitlist before going! I've had a few of their egg benedict's and definitely like the crab cake one better than the salmon one. The breakfast pot pie was also delish!! My sister got one of the burrito bowls and it was good, but a bit spicy for our taste. It's a great and reliable brunch spot, just be sure to prepare for it to be busy if you go on a weekend!

If you're in the Blackstone area and it's before noon, chances are you've been to Early Bird. This is one of our go-to breakfast/brunch spots here and this visit did not disappoint! Pro tip: Use the Yelp check in to skip the line before you arrive! We sat on their back patio on a warmer Sunday for lunch which is covered and perfect before the weather really gets cold. There are so many delicious choices, it's hard to pick just one. Today, we both went with their bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich with fruit and tots. This "little" sandwich is packed full of protein and flavor, you definitely won't go home hungry! Their tots are my personal favorite for their crispy texture over hash browns. Service was excellent for a busy, Sunday lunch as well. You won't want to miss Early Bird next time you're in Blackstone!

FARNAM FRENCH TOAST

Early Bird Brunch is one of those places that completely nails the brunch experience. I've been a few times now, and every visit has been nothing short of fantastic. Whether you're showing up for a classic breakfast, something sweet, or a relaxing catch-up session over coffee, this spot has it all -- amazing food, great coffee, and a warm, welcoming vibe that keeps you coming back. Let's start with the French toast, because it deserves its own standing ovation. This is hands-down some of the best French toast I've ever had -- perfectly golden on the outside, soft and custardy on the inside, and never too soggy or too dry. The flavor is rich but not overwhelming, with just the right amount of sweetness. Whether it's served with fresh fruit, powdered sugar, or a drizzle of syrup, it always comes out picture-perfect and totally crave-worthy. It's the kind of dish that makes you slow down and savor every bite. Their coffee also deserves a shoutout. It's smooth, strong, and always served hot -- exactly what you want first thing in the morning (or let's be real, late in the morning if you're brunching like a pro). It pairs beautifully with both sweet and savory items, and I love that they keep the refills coming without you having to flag anyone down. Beyond the food and drinks, one of the things that makes Early Bird so special is the atmosphere. The vibe here is everything you want in a brunch place: bright, cozy, upbeat, and just bustling enough to feel lively without being chaotic. You can totally show up in sweats or get dressed up for a cute brunch date -- either way, you'll fit right in. It's got that relaxed neighborhood feel with just the right amount of style. If you're thinking of going on a weekend -- which, let's face it, most of us are -- I highly recommend making a reservation. It gets busy fast, and the wait times can get long if you walk in. Luckily, they make it easy to reserve ahead of time, and it really makes a difference in your experience. Instead of standing around hungry, you're seated quickly and sipping coffee in no time. Another thing I really appreciate is the friendly staff. Everyone I've interacted with here -- from the hosts to the servers -- has been warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. You get the sense that they really care about making your experience a good one, even when the restaurant is packed. Now, let's talk about the outdoor seating. Normally I'd be all about dining al fresco, but I have to say -- during winter, the outdoor area is too warm. Like, almost uncomfortably warm. They've clearly made an effort to keep guests cozy, which I totally appreciate, but maybe just a touch less heat would go a long way. That said, it's still a nice option if you want some fresh air, especially in cooler weather or evenings. And finally -- the food overall is just fantastic. Whether you're into savory brunch classics like eggs, hash, and breakfast sandwiches, or leaning toward pancakes, waffles, or French toast (get the French toast!), everything comes out well-prepared and full of flavor. Portions are generous without being overwhelming, and there's a clear attention to detail in every dish.
