Hannah is a fantastic, technically great piercer and made my nipple piercings as easy and relaxed as possible! She was so quick with the piercing and transition from needle to jewelry that I didn't even bleed! I got it done hours ago and I'm only slightly sore. Not to mention- this is my second time getting them pierced and it went 100x better this time! (Previously done at a different shop many years ago). This was the best experience I've ever had at a piercing shop. Hannah is so sweet and helpful; really appreciated her good vibes when checking in. I've had many piercing including dermal under my eye twice, nose, lip, and many in my ears...never been the same shop, and never had any problems. I came to Mantra and right away I knew he did it wrong. I was hoping I was wrong, and after a month and a lil more, I've been super careful with cleaning and it's still this way, plus if you can see...soooooo beyond out of place. I'm so sad bc I was recommended this place and I should have went where my niece just did because hers looks great. I wish I was making this up. Mantra has wonderful service and the place is super clean. I have been there before but it was years ago and my friend was getting a tattoo. I had Jason he was amazing and answered my questions about another piercing I got done 2 months ago. He was very personable and professional. I will continue coming to Mantra and Stay Local as well. Their piercers are quick and cause low pain during it, I got a conch and helix today. I also enjoyed Bianca and Jasmine for previous piercings. Before my friend got her nostril piercing she was super nervous, but Jason did a great when my friend was wiggling around during it. I came in without an appointment and managed to get seen and start on my tattoo within 20 minutes. Now I got a smaller design that was very simple due to it just being more of a thin line type design on my wrist. I would recommend trying to get an appointment if you are doing an actual piece. The location was extremely easy to find and get parking as well. Around here that is saying a lot. The inside is very clean, lively, and just really relaxed. I felt no pressure here and just like I could kick back and relax while I wait. The shop has a $100 dollar minimum so always keep that in mind if you have a small piece you are wanting. Also remember to seriously tip your artist least 10% on top of that. I had Timothy Kidd do my tattoo and he was just very nice and welcoming. He listened to what I wanted and made sure to come back with the perfect size and picture already done. He was not frustrated at all when I asked for him to do a tad smaller and it looks amazing. There was some miscommunication about my status as an appointment vs a walk-in which had me waiting over two extra hours. During my unplanned wait, I was checked in on by the artists(Jeremy, Hunter, and Edgar)more than the shop manager which was the only thing that kept me in the shop. I was finally paired up with Jeremy and it was well worth the wait. Jeremy is a super talented artist and an even better young man. He made my vision of being able to take some of the Rocky Mountains back home to Brooklyn NY a reality and I am grateful. I went to Mantra Tattoo several years ago and was tattooed by the owner, Ben. He spent the entire day with me, drawing my tattoo by hand and tattooing me. I walked away with a piece I love and was charged for the time it took to tattoo (needle time) only. Fast forward to now. I couldn't be more disappointed with Hunter. It started with a consult for a lighthouse tattoo that I wanted on my ribs. Hunter suggested the ribs wasn't a great placement and I agreed on my inner arm. I put down the $200 deposit which I was told would go toward my first session. A couple weeks went by & I still didn't have peace about a lighthouse on my inner arm. Via txt, Hunter stated the deposit was nonrefundable but if I were to reschedule for something else in 3 months he wouldn't charge a second deposit. AWESOME! Or so I thought. I went in to get the lioness tattoo on my inner arm. We had scheduled a 4 hour session. And here's where everything went to shit. Hunter took a break after only 40 minutes of tattooing and thereafter would take breaks every 15-20 minutes. These breaks were personal (i.e. order his lunch, eat his lunch, take a consult, debate ordering tickets to an event that night). I was in the shop from 12-5:30 and received only 3 hours of tattoo time. I was sure I would be charged only for the time he was tattooing. NOPE! He charged me for 5 hours!!! And that "deposit", he conveniently changed terms & said it was a drawing fee and didn't go toward my first session. Keep in mind, Hunter didn't draw anything. He found an image (which took me 10 seconds to find) and printed it out! After contemplating the best course of action, as the tattoo is unfinished and Hunter wanted me to return for another 2 hours. I sent a txt stating I didn't think it was fair to charge me for 5 hours of time when he only tattooed for 3 and I was hoping to figure out a fair compromise between us because the work is great & I'd like him to finish it. After several back & forth, Hunter acknowledged the day had been busy & there is always a figuring out period between new artist/client. He apologized he had been unclear about the process. He offered a $100 off the final session. I agreed, not totally happy but willing to compromise, to have the same artist start & finish the piece. Fast forward another three days from his "I want to make this right" and he backs out entirely from finishing the piece. Says I don't respect him or appreciate his work. That I'm impossible to satisfy. I never said a negative word about his work. I was displeased with how I was being charged & the lack of transparency in cost. Had he been transparent upfront, I would not have gone to him for this tattoo. He milked the clock with all his breaks and charged me for it. The tattoo could've been completed in one sitting if Hunter didn't take a break every 15-20 minutes. I have sat for over 4 hours without breaks. To top it all off, he agrees to "make it right" and backs out. Zero integrity. read more

I've been going here for the past 4 years. Yesterday I went in wanting to get I new diamond stud for my nostril piercing the workers wouldn't let me compare sizes so I really had know clue how the jewel would compare in size to my current one, know surprise I get home and it's way to big so I go in the next day wanting to exchange it, I was given no options other then buying a brand new stud for full price that includes the mandatory tip you guys give yourself. I've spent over hundreds of dollars here which includes piercings, jewelry, and ink I've recommended tons of friends and family and this is the customer service your providing your loyal customers? Wow... What a difference a person makes I guess??? Lil Chris is no longer piercing at this shop and damn, what a disappointment. Summary - they are a rip off and rude. Brought a friend to have her ears pierced and I felt like the woman selling jewelry was just simply a hustler. Said she could give some discounts on jewelry, explained prices quickly and at the end didn't offer any discount and misquoted prices. The piercer was lovely, clean and professional but that was the only good. I purchased a new nose ring, had it pierced forever, but was told a lower price and not told I could only buy the top, since I have bottom pieces at home. Ripoff. Plus asked if they could help bend the piece (I have trouble with that on these new barbell posts, I like the old screw hook personally) and was told no problem we can do that and put it in. Cool! Any other shop does that for free when you buy jewelery, and no fee was ever mentioned or I would have declined it all, but paying I was charged $15 for this, and I tipped the piercer because she was so nice. So $75 dollars later I have a new nose ring I'm not very fond of and a terrible review for this place. Also, while waiting I observed two rude tattoo artists. One quickly came out to quote a customer and was rude and condescending and a second one made a guy wait almost an hour (our entire time in the shop anyway) and then came out to say "hey just gotta finish your drawing and I'll come out and show it to you" WTF, why have an appointment if you're not going to be ready?!? I'd be pissed if I were him... This place is a hole in the wall charging like an upscale parlor. Good luck staying in business with these kinds of shady practices, I'm super disappointed. read more

My daughter wanted to get her ears pierced for her 5th birthday. Lil Chris was recommended to us by our friend's shop because they cannot do piercings on little ones. That was a win because a recommendation from another shop is huge in the industry. I booked our appointment online for three weeks out so we could do it on her actual birthday. We happened to be on that side of town and stopped in two weeks before our appointment. My daughter got to pick out her jewelry and meet him beforehand. Lil Chris answered all of our questions and he genuinely cares. He is kind, respectful, and knowledgeable! I had also booked an appt to get my daith done. I wanted a custom bent piece so we discussed design etc. The jewelry selection is awesome and you can really pick just about anything to fit your personality and they offer the option for custom pieces. About a week later, my best friend wanted her nose pierced and her daith. I reached out to Chris and he was able to help me with a surprise for her birthday. She loved both of her piercings and her new custom daith jewelry! She had her nose done before and said the first time it was awful and this time it was easy and a completely different experience. But the true test was coming up...remember said five year old that wanted her ears pierced. Fast forward another week, we went in for our appointment and Chris had options ready for my custom pieces. He talked my husband and I through the jewelry, care, and the process. I was pretty nervous with how she would do at the age of 5. Chris gave his full attention to her and made sure she knew what was happening. He marked her ears- we agreed on placement and was ready to go. Now, I never expected things to go this smoothly. Right, we are dealing with a five year old girl that can lose her mind without the threat of needles. She's a great kid but she is still really young. He turned on some cartoons. She laid down on the table and the kid didn't even flinch as he quickly pierced each side and put her new earrings in. If you are looking for a piercer that is AMAZING with kids, Lil Chris is your guy. The small human had new sparkly flower earrings in and was grinning ear to ear. She jumped down and I expected to hop on the table right after her to get my piercings done. I share DNA with the kid and whatever the little petri dish brings home! Nope...Chris took the time to disinfect the table, change out everything, and followed all of the proper procedures for his next client. I will say this is impressive because he could have easily skipped the protocol because we were family. After all of the that, he pierced my daith, two tragus' and replaced some of my existing jewelry. He is thorough and smooth with a needle. All of our piercings are healing beautifully and the biggest challenge is figuring out which piercing is next. Thanks so much Lil Chris! You have gained a whole book of new clients. If you are looking for a new piercing, plan ahead or be patient if you get there and it's hoppin'. This place can get busy and for good reason. Don't get crappy. I've gotten several piercings here before, and was about to take my partner to get his ears pierced because I really enjoyed the ease of my past experience and the conversation I had with my piercer. However when I called today, the guy answering the phone was incredibly rude. appointment times available were 1 and 2. We're coming in from five hours away, and apple maps said we'd arrive at the shop at 1:05. I asked if that would be okay, as it's a simple lobe piercing. Jen is great! She replaced my breast cancer related mastectomy scar with a beautiful cherry blossom floral tattoo. This was my first tattoo. She was warm and welcoming. She is an artist and so she drew on my body instead of relying on a 2 dimensional stencil for a 3 dimensional area. I had gotten a piercing on my ear a week prior and the whole bar they pierced it with came out while I was cleaning it. I went to Mantra and Chris took great care of me. He explained my best options to me without pressure and helped me pick out another earring of the same gauge that I love so much more than the one they pierced my ear with in Europe. I have been to this location for piercings, and have been amazed my Cory's attention to detail and customer service. He really goes out of his way to make sure you're having the best experience, and the safest piercing process. TODAY WAS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT STORY. I walked in and was greeted by an extremely nice receptionist named Nina. I informed her I wanted a simple sketch of a bike wheel on my calf. No detail at all, just lines, and spokes. She walked over to the tattoo artist who was busy texting on his phone, and watching miscellaneous videos, who seemed to have no interest or care in his job, or the customer. She discussed the idea, and he immediately shot it down. He didn't even get out of his chair to come and talk to me, or look at my idea. He immediately told her to recommend someone else. I'm assuming this is why his chair is consistently empty every time I come In to get pierced. His name is Mike Martinez, and he stated to Nina that he has a different style. if you can't draw a line, Or a 90 degree angle, you don't get to even express you have a style. Wouldn't ever return to this store for a tattoo. I have also overheard Mike speak of other customers complaining about his work after they are tattooed, and realized that this was the same person that I encountered today. Mike Martinez is a really poor representation of Mantra! He should be replaced with someone who actually wants to create quality! read more

Got two piercings done here and just bought new jewelry and I can't really say every time I went was a good experience. The people can be very nice, the new person with the long straight hair and mustache was awesome but the prices are absolutely ridiculous. Went in to get a clicker jewelry for my right conch. $35 (which is way expensive) just for the jewelry then another $15 just for them to put it in. The friendly piercing person was trying their best to pick the correct size but in the end it was way too large and caused significant pain. I went in to see if I could get a new one and I totally understand why they don't do returns but they want me to spend another $50 to put it in? Sage piercing in old town Littleton is way better. 20 dollars for the same type of steel in the piercing and free placements so they can actually know if it fits or not. Every piercing I have ever got here has hurt an absurd amount and something goes wrong every time. When I got my septum, the pain was unbearable. When I got my lower lip labret they put a ring in..... as far as I know that's a real big red flag. Ring was too small and the pain was unbearable. Had to put in a stud and when they asked who did it, I accidentally misgendered the piercer and the piercer I was talking to was very rude to me about that even though I myself use they/them pronouns. There are some really awesome people in there and some really not awesome. Too up in the air for me to rely on this place. Every other time seems to be good then bad so good luck friends. read more

The shop was clean and seemed to follow appropriate sanitation guidelines. Back in August, I came in to see Chris for my septum piercing. The atmosphere is fun, friendly, and Chris did a wonderful job ensuring that I felt comfortable and knew everything about my jewelry/piercing. I couldn't have asked for a smoother session, and I absolutely love how it came out! A month ago, I returned to see Chris to help take a clicker out of my septum (it had nickel in it). Chris didn't even charge me for a new titanium ring (the BEST metal you could use as a piercer, IMO). He even offered to help me custom order any future septum jewelry to ensure avoiding cheap, nickel-based rings. Extremely happy with my experience here, and will return to Chris for future piercings.
