I wanted to make sure my puppy did his business BEFORE the road trip back. IT was completely empty but I totally understand because it was 100+ degrees! Luckily, there were spots of shade and benches that I could sit down and wait for my dog. But the water fountain had nicely temped water and the space is very large. He ran around (although was confused why there wasn't another single soul there). If you're around this area, this is a great spot for your puppy.

At times, you and your fur baby 'gots to get out of the house beyond the backyard. If this is you and you live in North Natomas, listen up... tucked in the 'burbs of the Regency Park subdivision is the REGENCY PARK COMMUNITY DOG PARK. The dog park is simple and does the trick. It has grass and a dandy dirt run. It is by no means a destination dog park. It has a large dog area and a small dog area. The mature trees are puny and does not provide a lot of shade. They have a few benches and shade awnings in the dog park. But if you plan to stay a spell, it is advised to bring your own portable chair to sit on and avoid this place in the summer park heat due to the lack of shade. The small dog park area has its own entrance and is distanced further away from the larger dog area. The large dog area is front and center on the corner of Bridgecross and Honor Parkway Drives. The dog park is part of the larger connecting Regency Park. The dog park is right next to a small baseball field used for Little League and a soccer field. Further to the east is a children's play area that is right next to Regency Park Elementary School. There is a walking path that connects this part of Regency Park to the larger section located southward. This side of Regency Park has no parking lot and restrooms. Parking is street parking. There is plenty of parking availability except on little league game days. On those days, it is a madhouse.

If an area is reserved you'll see signs up for the timing. When there are bigger events the parking nearby tends to fill up, but when there aren't events you can usually find plenty of free parking nearby. The park has a basketball court, baseball field, tennis courts, picnic tables, disc golf, a skate park, a nice playground and even a pool. There are paved paths and there are multiple areas that are great for entertaining groups, including a stage area. They pack a lot into a relatively small area and while there's a lot to do it won't take you long to walk around. While we were walking around a family was having a party and plenty of people were utilizing the different areas for sports. There were also some people walking their dogs, like us, but some people had their dogs off leash in some of the bigger areas. There wasn't a dog park area. it was beautiful while we were there and everything was clean and well kept.

Wow, this has got to be one of the most underrated parks in all of Sacramento. They have so many…read morethings to do, for the young and old. There's an amazing playground, with areas for big kids and small kids, all themed after the amusement park that used to be here. There's also basketball, including a court for kids with a low net. There's a skate park, tennis, frisbee golf, and baseball too. And, they have a large lap pool, wading pool, and splash pad for the warmer months. All in all, this is an amazing park, especially for kids, but really for anyone!

We didn't go in -- this was purely a socialization mission. Lobo stayed just outside the fence, observing the chaos like a wise old man watching neighborhood kids from the porch. And you know what? He crushed it. Calm, cool, and collected. Gold star. We don't plan on doing dog parks for play since he goes to daycare and thrives in a more structured setting, but if dog parks are your thing -- this one could be a winner. Clean, not overwhelming, and right next to the R Street Corridor, which means you can treat your pup to a full Midtown adventure after. Grab a walk, some sniffs, and maybe hit a patio if your dog's in a chill mood. Or do what Lobo did and just stand outside the fence like a refined gentleman, silently judging everyone inside. 10/10 outing. No paws were stepped on. No chaos ensued. We love to see it.

Walking trails surround a dog park, skateboard park, horseshoe courts, several soccer fields, and several open fields (which are usually also used for soccer). I love the duck and lily pond with the fountain, although I'm not certain whether this is a feature of the park, or the court house. The park is situated with walking distance of Starbucks, Kiki's Chicken Place, C.K.'s donuts, the family court house, and the Power Inn light rail station. It is not the cleanest park, but it is kept in decent enough shape, and is pretty popular. Yesterday afternoon, I was in the process of parking in one of those shaded parking spaces when I noticed that a man (whom I had just driven by on the street) seemed to be following me into the park. He walked up to a brown van, and proceeded to try to open the door in a way that made it seem like he didn't expect it to be open. He had already started to move on to the next door when he noticed that the side door was opening. At this point, I was thinking, this *could* be his van, but, I had a feeling that it wasn't. Right at that moment, another man pulled in between us, and parked. Seeing that I was staring in his direction, he came over to talk to me. "Hi, how are you? I like your hair. Can I get your number?" Etc. As he was talking to me, I noticed the first man leaving the brown van, and going through the same process with a different van. "I don't think that's his car," I said to the man who was asking for my phone number. I guess I was nervous from potentially witnessing petty theft, because all I could think to say to his multiple requests for my contact info was, "Oh, no thank you." As I started my car to leave, I said, "Maybe don't leave your car here! Cause that guy is probably gonna go through it." That's the last time I try to save $3.50 by parking at the park, and walking to the court house.

My chocolate Labrador loved this park. What was strange is that we went to the park at 5:30pm and it was EMPTY. I brought my dog at this time thinking that he'd have some new friends to play with. Dog owners with smaller dogs should be aware that there isn't a little/big area. It's all one park. So if your little dog isn't social or gets nervous around larger dogs, you might want to look elsewhere.

I have been a few times now and one day was muddy do the very much needed rain in California. Then the next few times there was a few dogs. It was great with no dogs the 1st time because we all got to see and get a feel for the place without dogs being dogs trying to make friends and not listen. Well mine is only a little over 4 months now so we are still training with him. Ok back to the barking.. i mean park. They have 2 dog poop bag areas, and trash for doggie waste and a water fountain for them to get there drank on! i would still bring your own bags cause they were both empty so far for the bags, and water fountain was kinda clean even for a dog, but still keep water on yourself just incase, could be really dirty or even shutoff next time like having kids and dogs always have to be prepared for them. The best part of walking the dog park was that i didn't even step in 1 pile or even find a pile being left behind from anyone. That was amazing and very refreshing to see people cleaning up!! High 5 to all who come here and to the ones everyday around this world that pick up after there pets! You are awesome and i thankyou bunches. I have stepped in a few at apartment complex were they have 5 stations fully stocked with bags and people still don't. :O/ They also have a big plastic container with some toys people either leave behind or donate im guessing and theres a lot of tennis balls in here. It's open from sunrise to sunset, it is located in the back of bannon creek park fenced behind the school. But if you come down bannon creek st. You will see a black n white sign with a dog and a arrow, so you can follow the sign and the dog will use his sense of smell maybe, and you should find your way. From walkers and runners, to kids on the playground and people taking advantage of the green areas. I love that there are so many trees in the area, so even when the sun is out there's a good amount of shade. The park has a playground, tennis courts, baseball field, basketball court, and so much green space. On our latest visit a stroll through the park was just part of our adventure, since it's walking distance from some great local businesses. We were able to get some fun outdoor time, enjoy some coffee, and do some shopping.

I have now traded running for working out in the gym, but will try to get back into running for more cardio. The last time I ran here was July of 2025. I try to do at least 1 mile Everytime I'm here. I ran here today and not much has changed-which is good. I was still able to complete my usual route, but it is always hard to get back into running after more than half a year of non running. This park is great for tracking without any tools or apps. One whole lap around the park is just over a mile. Lots of locals walk/run around the park. There's also one basketball court, 2 tennis courts, 1 baseball field and lots of grass areas for groups to play sports. I've seen flag football, soccer, rugby, little league and just people doing sprints and back and Forth. There's also a playground for kids to enjoy, which I've seen in use Everytime I come here. Overall, a good park with lots of activity and generally safe. I can't wait to come back more when the weather warms up.

Well, us and scores of geese. We walked the loop, which was about 1.5 miles. About half the walk is paved and the other half is gravel. Just a relaxing time. Development nearby is easy to ignore, and even when you are walking on the gravel levee, you have farmland on one side. Great place to take your dog -- just be aware of the geese.

They do have signs that say to keep your dogs on their leash, and everytime I've been through people seem to abide by this and there have always been a lot of dogs out with their people each time. It does get flooded during peak rainy seasons and it gets a bit hot in the summer, but it's great to have available.
