My chocolate Labrador loved this park. What was strange is that we went to the park at 5:30pm and it was EMPTY. I brought my dog at this time thinking that he'd have some new friends to play with. Dog owners with smaller dogs should be aware that there isn't a little/big area. It's all one park. So if your little dog isn't social or gets nervous around larger dogs, you might want to look elsewhere.

It has a few benches for the humans to sit on while the dogs burn some energy. The area is pretty good sized and has a few trees too for some shade in the summer and dogs to claim as there's spot. I have been a few times now and one day was muddy do the very much needed rain in California. Then the next few times there was a few dogs. It was great with no dogs the 1st time because we all got to see and get a feel for the place without dogs being dogs trying to make friends and not listen. Well mine is only a little over 4 months now so we are still training with him. Ok back to the barking.. i mean park. They have 2 dog poop bag areas, and trash for doggie waste and a water fountain for them to get there drank on! i would still bring your own bags cause they were both empty so far for the bags, and water fountain was kinda clean even for a dog, but still keep water on yourself just incase, could be really dirty or even shutoff next time like having kids and dogs always have to be prepared for them. The best part of walking the dog park was that i didn't even step in 1 pile or even find a pile being left behind from anyone. That was amazing and very refreshing to see people cleaning up!! High 5 to all who come here and to the ones everyday around this world that pick up after there pets! You are awesome and i thankyou bunches. I have stepped in a few at apartment complex were they have 5 stations fully stocked with bags and people still don't. :O/ They also have a big plastic container with some toys people either leave behind or donate im guessing and theres a lot of tennis balls in here. It's open from sunrise to sunset, it is located in the back of bannon creek park fenced behind the school. But if you come down bannon creek st. You will see a black n white sign with a dog and a arrow, so you can follow the sign and the dog will use his sense of smell maybe, and you should find your way. We didn't go in -- this was purely a socialization mission. Lobo stayed just outside the fence, observing the chaos like a wise old man watching neighborhood kids from the porch. And you know what? He crushed it. Calm, cool, and collected. Gold star. We don't plan on doing dog parks for play since he goes to daycare and thrives in a more structured setting, but if dog parks are your thing -- this one could be a winner. Clean, not overwhelming, and right next to the R Street Corridor, which means you can treat your pup to a full Midtown adventure after. Grab a walk, some sniffs, and maybe hit a patio if your dog's in a chill mood. Or do what Lobo did and just stand outside the fence like a refined gentleman, silently judging everyone inside. 10/10 outing. No paws were stepped on. No chaos ensued. We love to see it.

I wanted to make sure my puppy did his business BEFORE the road trip back. IT was completely empty but I totally understand because it was 100+ degrees! Luckily, there were spots of shade and benches that I could sit down and wait for my dog. But the water fountain had nicely temped water and the space is very large. He ran around (although was confused why there wasn't another single soul there). If you're around this area, this is a great spot for your puppy.

At times, you and your fur baby 'gots to get out of the house beyond the backyard. If this is you and you live in North Natomas, listen up... tucked in the 'burbs of the Regency Park subdivision is the REGENCY PARK COMMUNITY DOG PARK. The dog park is simple and does the trick. It has grass and a dandy dirt run. It is by no means a destination dog park. It has a large dog area and a small dog area. The mature trees are puny and does not provide a lot of shade. They have a few benches and shade awnings in the dog park. But if you plan to stay a spell, it is advised to bring your own portable chair to sit on and avoid this place in the summer park heat due to the lack of shade. The small dog park area has its own entrance and is distanced further away from the larger dog area. The large dog area is front and center on the corner of Bridgecross and Honor Parkway Drives. The dog park is part of the larger connecting Regency Park. The dog park is right next to a small baseball field used for Little League and a soccer field. Further to the east is a children's play area that is right next to Regency Park Elementary School. There is a walking path that connects this part of Regency Park to the larger section located southward. This side of Regency Park has no parking lot and restrooms. Parking is street parking. There is plenty of parking availability except on little league game days. On those days, it is a madhouse.

They also have a ton of parking, that is covered so it provides some shade and helps keep cars cooler during the hot months. Inside the dog area there is a double gate, a water fountain, a hose and kiddie pool, and a spot to put used balls so other dogs can play with them later. There were also a few shaded benches around the area. From first looks it seemed almost perfect. The drawbacks are that it's mostly dirt and balls get dirty easy, as well as your pet. At parks like this we throw the ball a few time with our dog and then once it starts getting too dirty he won't pick it up anymore. The grassy area was more like a bunch of weeks, including A LOT of the little prickly seeds that like to latch onto you and your dogs. I ended up spending a good amount of time after playing making sure we got all these uncomfortable prickly balls off our dog in his fur between his paw pads, on his belly... I felt bad letting him get from the park to home without finding one in his paw. While I'm so thankful this is available, I wish more dog parks were grassy and thought about the dogs full experience.

Both sides have a good amount of space for dogs to run and they share a fence so that dogs from both sides and interact if they want. Sometimes dogs will run back and forth along the fence seperating the sides and bark at each other. To me, this is more so entertaining rather than annoying. This park gets a lot of regulars. Many of the people on the small dog side seem to come on a daily basis and know each other and all of the dogs. It becomes more of a social area with sometimes all of the people and dogs just hanging around the tables. When I go, I follow my dog around as he likes to walk around the park and mark it. In general I would say that people here are good about watching their dogs. Better at it on the small dog side. The large dog side is pretty big with a good amount of space for dogs to run around. For this reason, it may be harder to stay so close and on top of where/what your dog is doing. I have wittnessed a few dog fights on the larger dog side, but nothing too crazy. One time I made the mistake of picking up my smaller dog on the larg dog side (she wouldn't stop barking) and a large dog came booking it towards us and started jumping and biting at my dog. That scared me away from that side for a bit. I do have a larger Australian Shepherd that needs to be on the big dog side and he is way faster than I am. One time he was getting along with all the dogs but didn't like that one of them started humping another. He decided to start barking and yelling at the dog and he must of been talking shit or something because then all of the dogs turned on him and wanted to attack him. Luckilly the dog owners and I were all closely watching out dogs and kept them seperate. One of the owners offered to keep their dog on a leash, but I told them it was a good time for us to leave anyway. So my one thing I would say is only take your dog if you can actively watch and control them. The dogs can get pretty hyper and crazy and may need help calming down. This park is close to the river and midtown Sacramento so the location is super convenient. I like to walk there from East Sacramento and through Mckinley Village homes. The location gets beautiful sunsets and is a nice spot to enjoy the weather. Some people come here for social hour with food/beverages to hang outside with their dogs.

There's no delineation between small dogs and big dogs, so be aware of that. Met some good people with their pups too. Dogs can get quite dirty there, but they have fun, so no complaints there.

Found this park on the All Trails app and walked the loop twice for a five mile walk. It's next to…read morethe aquatic center and on Saturdays, the farmers market. Caution if visiting on a Saturday morning to be mindful that parking gets full between the farmers market and the aquatic center. Loved seeing the ducks and waterfalls during my walk. Mix of families, friends, couples and kids walking with few bikes and everyone was really friendly, as I did ask questions here and there being new to the park. Plan to return with my girlfriends for a friends walk.

My neighborhood dog park. We have a small dig and this place has a side for small dogs, and larger…read moredogs. Both sides of the fence has a lot of space on their respective sides. I've never seen this park over crowded. Sometime the regulars combine their small dogs with their bigger dogs. But it seems like it is a universal agreement amongst the regulars who go there at a certain time. The yards seem to be kept fairly clean as I haven't found any droppings yet. I wish they supplied bags though, just in case the owners forget. Other than that, great neighborhood dog park.
