Nestled next to the Natomas waterpark, this park offers a large grass area for soccer, a could baseball fields, picnic table, splash pad (pack swim suits) for kiddies and a covered playground area. Cute little park. The outside "loop" is 2.5 miles, according to the All Trails app. Two loops gets you a good walk, views of the man made lake and lots of ducks and geese. You'll see the full gamut of community: children on bikes, families with babies in strollers, people with dogs (on leashes), and there are also two dog "parks," one specifically for large dogs which is nice. Lots of duck and geese poop on the sidewalks, but easy to walk around it. I also observed couples on the grass with their mini BBQ grill, relaxing and enjoying the children playing. Oops, didn't finish my review I blame my midlife ADHD. So like I was saying this is a 3.5 rounded to 4 stars and that's a consensus score between my kids and myself, true democracy in practice here folks! We come here quite a few times a year for special events through my kids' school and/or with my church. This is a nice and HUGE park that technically includes the aquatic center and all the baseball and soccer fields, etc. However, in this review, I'm going to focus on the main playground and picnic area. So there's a big play structure for kids in the middle of this park. It's partially covered with these fancy-like sophisticated tarp developed for covering parks for shade where there's not trees or where trees won't grow etc. That's my theory about using these tarps vs just planting trees, haha. Anyhow, so there's shade and the kiddies don't have to be hot when climbing on the play structure. There's several individual parts of the structures, like monkey bars, climbing gym, swings, slides, etc. Next, there's the HUGE gazebo that's a permanent structure and it's a concrete gazebo so it's very good to give cover when it's windy and/or rainy or super hot although I imagine there's not many people at this park when the weather is rough. Still there's MANY picnic tables under the cover and it's perfect for a party. I'm not sure the rules for reservation for a gathering, so you'd have to check with the City of Sacramento's Park and Recreation Dept. I don't recall any built in BBQ grills, but I could be wrong, I'll have to check more carefully the next time. Finally, there's the most important facilities: bathrooms!!! They are there, I've not used them before, so I've not seen if they're clean, but my kids' school holds events here and I've not heard any complaints about these bathrooms so I imagine they're ok. Overall, this is a nice park, hopefully it stays that way. So everyone, please keep it clean and pick up after yourselves and be respectful and let's keep our public parks in good shape for everyone's enjoyment! Thank you! read more

Great Park! Baseball fields water park and they've had events here! Few benches take your chairs or blankets great amount of shade for the length of time it's been there. Parks huge I didn't get photos of it been here for school stuff, baseball games and night gathering they had during the holidays! This is a must plenty of parking. read more

I'm curious how often someone goes out and sanitizes the dog park. I haven't taken my dog here in forever and suddenly a few days after I brought her to the park she had e-coli in her urine. It could have been from contaminated water and when I went about a month ago, the water in the dog bowl station wasn't draining so the water was sitting there for idk how long. Not saying this park was the reason, but I'm curious if it could have been? read more

There is a lot of parking at this park, there's also restrooms and large children's area to play. They always have farmers markets at this location and you can catch a good event here. I think it's a great part come out and check it out for yourself read more

North Natomas Regional Park is a really nice spot with a lot to offer. It's a big outdoor area, and if you walk the whole thing, it makes for a pretty good walk. There's a large pond where people fish, several baseball fields for little league, and even separate dog parks for small and large dogs. It's the kind of place that feels like it has something for everyone. They also host farmers markets here on Saturdays, which makes the park even more enjoyable to visit. Whether you're coming out for a walk, spending time with family and friends, or just enjoying the open space, it's a nice place to relax and get outside. The wide paths and open fields make it a great community place. It would be amazing if the city followed through on the idea of putting the Sacramento Zoo behind this park. Natomas really needs something like that, and the animals would have more space too. Since Elk Grove isn't getting the zoo anymore, there's still hope and this location would be a perfect fit for both the community and the city. read more

This park is constantly busy. It has very nice walking paths that is well paved. You can walk it all round the park to their pond area which is nicely maintained. This park has their Farmer's Market every Saturday during the summers. If you are close by, come join the Farmer's market or if you just want to go for a nice jog or walk, North Natomas Regional Park is the park for you! Another great park in the Natomas area. They have a good amount of parking here and every time we've come out it feels like something is going on, whether it's a baseball game or outdoor yoga. We usually stop by to let our dog run around in the dog park or to take a long walk in the area. We love all the connected walking/biking paths and the neighborhood is great to walk around in too. You'll find several smaller parks if you walk around enough too. The dog park has a small dog and large dog area and there's a good amount of space for them to run around and play fetch. We did notice that there were some holes in the ground and spots where a pup could possibly trip, but overall it's a really fun area to spend some time with your dogs. read more

There is parking right outside the double gates. We went to the small dog area. There are no trees inside but there are several benches with shade canopies. The small dog park is long and narrow so there is plenty of room to get up some speed for those dogs that like to run. It's half decomposed granite and half grass. Of course my dog found the only muddy spot in the grass near the fence of the large dog area and got filthy but he had fun. read more

My dog and I love this dog park! It's so clean and I like how it's half grass and half sand/dirt. This dog park always has dogs in the afternoon and on the weekends! It's a big dog park too! The only thing is the door for the small dog park is broken and although so many people have called to get it fixed, it hasn't been fixed yet. I like how the is dog park has activities for the dogs and it's a nice location! There's both a large dog park and small dog park. There's a water station in both areas and a trash can too. This is right by the club center and high school which attracts a lot of traffic. Usually when there are events happened, parking is limited but if there's not an event then parking is easy. You see lots of people and dogs walking on the trail right next to the dog park. Love coming here! read more

Combined with the aquatic center, this is a great park for triathlon training. It has a beautiful cycling/running trail that goes around and through the park, and you can easily put together training rides and runs that have little to no interaction with cars. You can also easily practice your "brick" workouts, opting to swim-run, swim-bike, bike-run, or even do all three! There's also a super nice playground and splash pad. While I'd like to see more trees here, all in all, this is a nice park for triathlon training! read more

In the northern side of natomas they have a few dog parks but this one has more paws running and playing then the others. I haven't encounterd any vicious dogs, some have been a bit scared or frightened, some are dominant and bark but the owners let everyone know and explain there trying to socialize them. If they go a bit to much they leave, no harm done. Make sure you know your dog and how to read dogs tails, voices barks, and there hair if it spikes up or not. This will give you a good sense on how they are or whats about to happen! During the morning there is usually a steady crowd of friends who meet up and play. Then there is also the night crowd who do the same. There is the 25+lb dog side and the under 25lb side to keep them separately, but for those who have both the little ones come too. And for as many as i have seen have been great. They do have water fountains/bubblers on both sides for the dogs, kids and adult size in one! A few benches to rest on while your puppy or dog has its own fun. They dont have much shade unless you get the two below the canopy and you come at the right point of the day when the sun is above. There is some wildlife around from jackrabbits, birds, geese and more. On a quiet morning you can hear all of them chirping and squawking. Peaceful at times. There's a few little hills, spacious room, grass and dirt track, and the fence between the 2 sides so if your dogs like to chase the dogs on other side they have some room to do it. The only down fall here is the mud and recreational maintenence. They have had a lot of over watering do to broken sprinklers. Took for ever and a few talks with them directly but finally got it fixed. There was some major puddles and holes that were left by the water and dogs playing in it. But before the rain season came they fixed it. So hopefully now they will stick to fixing it faster and maybe stop by and add some dirt to few holes. Save someone a sprained ankle or even a dog leg broken. (I know of one (human)that has happened already). But when it come to the rainy season and your dog loves the mud this will be a great place for you to visit. Also like every where you go watch were you step, cause if slide just a little you know what you stepped in. Because not all people are respectful, curtious, and a good pet owner and clean up after there pet/dog/child like some call them. For the regulars who come we leave extra bags and offer them to those who turn there heads away as they notice whats happening, or play the ahhh i forget my bags at home trick. Most dog parks dont offer them anymore. :( There will always be new dogs coming and going! Hopefully you will find some who fur friends for your fur friend to play and have fun with. There is also a kids playground, water like area during summer time, and a few basball fields here too, but that has anither yelp page named the same as this one, but has the playground under the name and this one is named for dog park. read more

While this park is for people that live within Natomas Park Development, it's so welcoming for runners, cyclists, and those of us that enjoy the occasional stroll through the lovely surroundings. If you're not ready to fly free, but you have that feeling of wanting to soak up the sun, bring your filled picnic basket & blanket, find your place in the sun. You can let your wild things run around, kick a ball, or just hang and enjoy the PB&J sandwich that you just made. When I moved to Sacramento several years ago this park was still being built. There was no parking, skimpy seating in the dog park areas with no shade and mostly sand. Fast forward years later and this place is really starting to resemble a park. They now have an actual parking lot, what looks to be a nice playground in addition to several walking/biking paths. There may be other amenities deeper into the park, but I haven't gone past the dog park. They have both a large dog and small dog area. It's nice to see that they have added some shaded seating for those hot summer days. The dogs and their owners seem to be friendly and respectful every time I have come. My only complaint at this point is that I don't typically see many dogs here. The small dog section is really small and all the lil guys seem to get bored unless they are having fence battles with the big dogs. Overall, I like this place. It's close to home, now has easily accessible parking and shaded seating. It's not my first choice, but I'm glad it's here. read more

Pretty amazing dog park!! I've been here with my English Bulldog, Tank a handful of times. It's a really great area. It's located between the high school and the man- made lake. I like having the option of having my dog run wild and free in the large gated area designated for big dogs or taking him for a 2 mile walk around the lake. There is always someone and their four legged friend in the dog park. I would know, since I come at sporadic hours. Whether its an afternoon on a weekday or a morning on a weekend, your pup will have a playmate. The two legged variety are polite. They pick up after their pets and they make sure that all animals are getting along. The cleanest dog park that I've been too. Glad its close to home! read more

Plenty of room for Fido to run at this large, grassy dog park. Popular spot for larger breeds since there's so much space. Steady flow of the big guys on the Saturday I was there. Kind of nice not to have my gentle giant towering over the crowd for a change. They only have 2 doody bins, 1 at either end of the fence. Makes it quite a ways to walk with a handful of mess if your dog decides to relieve himself in the middle of the running area. Hence, watch out if you're walking through the grass. Land mines everywhere. Now I admit to being directionally challenged, but I had a hell of a time finding this place. Word to those who suffer from the same disorder- if you're coming from Natomas Blvd. (a.k.a. Truxel), go straight past the high school and the park is tucked into a corner on the right at the point where you're forced to either go left or make a u-turn. I used to love this dog park when my now 1.5 year old boxer was a puppy. I would still love to go and give a higher rating if it weren't for the terrible drainage problems. If you have a dog that loves water bring lots of towels for the ride home. Pros: we always find friendly new faces or regulars to chat with. We have had good luck avoiding dog fights, most people keep a good eye on their dog. This park does not have much shade or seating which I love. Once dog owners sit and congregate you are going to have a lot more territorial dogs= more dog fights. There s a nice walking path I would love if "someone" would fix water problems but I am thinking that money is non-existing. Maybe a fundraiser? Tip: dog parks are never a place to take young kids in my opinion. It's also not a good idea to let these youngins run around screaming or play in dirt that multitudes of animals have peed on. read more

I love how they offer three different sections for dogs. I'm very comfortable with taking my dog to this location. She has plenty of room to roam around, the other dog parents are also very nice as well. We usually spend a couple hours here for her to socialize and run. I haven't seen any problems with others dogs. I do like the amount of water pumps they have and a section to rinse your pup if they get dirty. This is on the the grassy big dog side. read more

My wife told me about this park, so close to home. I find it to be a very relaxing place to bring your kids(dogs) and just let them enjoy the 'great outdoors' without being trapped at home or forced to be on a leash. The people and their kids are really friendly which makes it great because the vibe remains positive. It may not be the biggest doggie park but it's enough room for our little ones to run around and be happy. The only negative is how some owners won't keep an eye on their kids which is a reason why you'll find some fecal left behind. If this place offered doggie bags it might help but people do have to be a bit more responsible Overall, I find it to be a great place to bring your kids for a weekend; will be coming here more often read more

Went to the helicopter egg drop the day before Easter in 2018. There is a lot of people that will show up. There are many distractions for the kids, however the organization of the egg hunt was chaotic as most kids didn't even get on the fields to get an egg. The support of the police and fire department was nice and the highlight was the low flying helicopter. Nice event but left quite a few kiddies upset! read more

So the third check in will be for the lake walk area next to the actual park this was really fun me and my daughter went on a very nice stroll we brought our dog with us we walked the entire lake which is a path that also leads to like a dirt bike area many ducks of different varieties are swimming getting bread fed to them or flying north because of the season people were also fishing even though it was sketchy because I'm not sure where the fish exactly comes from but it was overall a good time lots of people on walks with their families I saw someone taking wedding pictures the freeway anD cars are far enough distance to where you don't have to hold your child's hand it's in a really safe location overall it was a nice place to go for a walk and I will definitely be returning read more

This park is great at times, but it can be really uncomfortable when teenagers from the high school across the street smoke in the bathrooms at the park. I also don't think it's the safest that the trucks are CONSTANTLY driving on the sidewalk through the park during peak hours when there are obvious summer clubs and after school programs clearly going on. I know it's their job I just don't think it's the safest idea most of the times when kids are running around unaware of their surroundings. read more

Dog park review: Took my pup here on an early Friday afternoon. There were zero pups unfortunately, but the park was very clean. I also like that there is a separate side for small dogs and another for larger dogs. There's water fountains in case the doggies get Thirsty and there are plenty of grass area where they can run around at. There's about 3-4 benches on the small pup side with one shaded area, but would recommend more as it gets really hot during the summer, especially when it's in the 90s. Clean for a dog park. Has two separate areas for Small and Large dogs. Large is considered 25lbs+ here. Each side has a water fountain for the canines, however I've seen people supplied with their own water and bowls. Pet parents are friendly, however there are a few cackling hens that love to gossip about other pet parents so beware of what you say. It tends to get crowded about late afternoon. Very nice size for the little dogs. Has both grassy and sandy areas. Sadly not much shady for owners. It has a water fountain for dogs and human. There are no scoopers so byob. Owners are nice. Dogs were courtesy so no aggressive dogs there for my visit. I only waited a few minutes before more dogs came in. After work owners. By Approx 5:30 pm there were at least 10 dogs there. This review is for the small dog side. The trees will be good in about 5 years and maybe there will be more benches. The dogs in general are all well behaved and my pooch loves to go there. My complaint is about some of the pooch parents. In particular, there is a group in the evenings that bring their own chairs and hang out. That's fine to make yourself feel at home, but I think they've taken it to heart. Because they make most people feel like they're trespassing and unwelcome. It almost feels like a high school clique. There is a definite mean girl based on my conversations with other "outsiders/interlopers". She is more mean middle aged woman than girl and her yappy dog is annoying. She walked towards me on two different evenings and I said hi to be friendly. She kept walking like I was invisible. At least she didn't yell at me like she has at others. What a batch. I will continue to go here because it's good for my pooch and there are some really nice people that I've met. But it's not my first choice, especially at 7 p.m. in the summer. read more
