This place is my most favorite place to eat in the whole world! My mom has been taking us there since before I could remember and she's been going there since before I was born. We grew up around the corner from this market. I'm 33 now. Now that I'm older I makes trips here my self every time I come to the Bronx. I love this place, so many memories.

I bought a fish sandwich here and for the price it's perfect. Just two slices of bread over 2/3 pieces of filet fish. Grab a beverage and you are set for a quick lunch. This fish shop is one of a kind due to fact that it sells fresh seafood along and can make it into anything you would like at the other end of the shop. Great business idea and they do get a bit of a rush around lunch.

Whenever I feel for fried calamari.I stop at this Korean place. Is not just cheap...is great. Sometimes it get too busy specially in rush hour...but you get hot fresh fried fish at bargain price.

Clam stripes with shrimp and shoe string fries all for $10.00 can't beat that!

I discovered Branzino's at our Farmers Market - their fish is worth the price. Everything tastes…read moreexcellent with good fish it turns out. Fresh salmon steaks, fresh cod for stew or soup, thick cod for baked cod with miso-butter bread crumbs, fresh halibut with garlic rice and cherry tomatoes. Their Inwood storefront is old school spacious with signs identifying the kind of fish and they will deliver to many neighborhoods including Riverdale.

I want to like this place but they are doing some shady business with the scale and charging more…read morethan they should. For example, if I ask for half a pound of something they will give me a quarter pound yet charge for a half a pound. This has happened three times. I called them on it the last time I was in there. The clerk told me it's because they weigh the paper with the fish. Okay, fine, but that doesn't change the fact that I only received 1/4 pound of fish, and 1 ounce of paper when I weighed the two separately at home, and was still charged for a 1/2 pound. I know that all scales are going to be slightly different from each other but I have a very accurate scale at home and there is no reason why the weight should differ by 3-5 ounces from the scale that they have at the store. Do it once, it's a mistake but three times makes it seem intentional. The quality of the fish is very good, which is why I gave one star, but I doubt that I'll be back.

I love this supermarket. I rarely stop by here as it is out of my way to come here. But, when I do,…read moreI behave like a little girl in a candy shop. There are so many variation of food. This last time that I went, I got hard to find food products. I got frozen jute leaves for my Haitian friend. I got dried taro leaves for my Filipino co-worker. I myself got: bamboo leaves, frozen banana leaves, frozen bitter leaves, preserved duck eggs, fresh water chestnuts and tons of spices. I bought some meat from the butcher section and the guy sliced the meat up to my request. They have bones for soup. I saw durians, banana flowers, sorrel flowers, two types of bitter melons(the Asians and the Guyanese type), etc etc. They have Mexican products, Indonesian, Thai, Malaysian, Filipino, Indian and of course Chinese products. There is a huge variety of products to make dishes from at least half of the world. It is a typical Chinese grocery store. The aisles are clean and stocked with a lot of items. For example, the noodle aisle is 1/4 full of all types and width of rice noodles. So for those gluten free people, they will think that they are in heaven. They have other types as well. At the time, I was interested in getting noodles to make a few bowls of pho...therefore the bones and meat for it. They also have mushroom oyster sauce for the gluten free people. I digress. Anyways, give this supermarket a try. Don't get deter by the fish market with fishy smell when you walk in. If I were the owner, I would have put the fish shop in the back. BUT, what's done is done. Enjoy!

So this Chinese supermarket specializing in Asian items and also Central-American items ----…read morebecause a lot of their customers are Central-American immigrants ---- is 100% Chinese: all the staff are Chinese. They're not going to chit-chat with you about the latest news story in the New York Post. It's pure business: you walk in, if you want seafood that's still swimming in the tank, or, if you want fresh vegetables which aren't sold at Key Food, then, this place will pretty much have it. Other than that there's lots of Instant Ramen ---- from Japan, Korea, China, Malaysia, Vietnam ---- and lots of spices from both Asia and the Caribbean. And a "Goya" section too. Oh, Kimichi, did I mention Kimchi in glass jars? And yes, they do have basics ---- milk, eggs, cheese, meat, cat food. A great little addition to the Bronx, well worth a visit. A lot more interesting to wander through and see some interesting imported items you might want to buy; more fun than Key Food. Well worth a visit.
