This is a nice addition to Idaho Falls. A beautiful and modern little shop with a visible cheese factory. The cheeses themselves are good but not great. Their special reserve cheese, for example, is very creamy but lacks much in the way of flavor. The plain cheddar is decent, but not any better than things like Tillamook. They shine with the various flavored cheeses. Their pepper cheeses offer a wide range of spiciness, including a Carolina Reaper one that might burn your mouth off. I hope they improve their cheese quality and depth of flavor and take a few notes and guidance from places like Beecher's Handmade Cheese. Lots of potential here, but right now that's all it is. Potential to be great. Currently pretty good (I'd use 3 1/2 stars if Yelp allowed half stars). Fun little store and worth supporting. read more

First time here at Manwaring.. the cheese, the soup, and the sandwiches were great. You can get samples at the cheese cooler from little serving bowls using a toothpick, but.. here's where I was turned off. They had just opened and the little cups for used toothpicks to go in, were literally overflowing with dirty toothpicks from other customers. Several toothpicks had fallen down into the cheese area under the racks. Toothpick dispensers were not working, or even empty and the sample bowls were strewn all over and mostly empty. Nice place inside, but with the build up and overflow of dirty toothpicks...I just can't do it again. Place was empty when we came in, staff was just kinda milling around. read more

My wife and I like to go here for an evening out for Riverwalk with our ice cream and I also like to grab some cheese to take home. If you like goat cheese to go along with a wine and crackers, this is the place to come. Everybody comes here with their families and some families out of town it's a good place to stop And catch up have a great sitting area, which is very personable and you may be able to see a train by. I don't know how we missed this place with all of our visits to the area. It's definitely a local favorite and now one of ours. First, it's a cheese shop the gas an excellent selection of cheeses from around the world. You can sample them to find the one you like before you purchase. They also have a nice selection of salamis. They offer great cheese sandwiches. They are a on the small side and on sour dough. You get to pick the cheese you want to make an excellent sandwich. I prefer the Tuscan rub and the garlic pepper cheese. You can get drink, sandwich, and soup for five dollars. An extra sandwich is $2.50. The soup is not great, but you are going to cheese shop, not a soup shop. They also have a great gelato shop with lots of flavors. They let you try the different flavors before you decide on the one that you want. Overall, mango was our favorite. However, we all found lots of different flavors that we really enjoyed. Finally, the staff was very helpful and super friendly. They keep it clean and comfortable. We'll definitely be back. read more

Oh my gosh. New staple whenever I visit Idaho Falls! Even during COVID you could sample their yummy cheeses and their grilled cheese sandwiches were so simple and so good. Fresh sourdough with whatever cheese you like! Not alot of love on Yelp for this place and that's a shame. This was a wonderful place to visit! It has, without a lot doubt, some of the best icecream I have ever had. It's all homemade there. They have a really big selection and they let you sample alot too. Awesome and delicious and very reasonable pricing. I'm not from here so I just passed by on a whim and I'm glad I didAl! Stick to selling cheese and Gelato. As an eatery selling only a miniature grilled cheese in factory made bread that measures 4x4 inches wide and maybe 1/4 thick with Bacon bits for the Bacon grilled cheese sandwich it's beyond sad. And when the only side is a very bitter cup of tomato soup it's worse. Seriously we'd traveled 8 hours from north Idaho and my husband REALLY wanted a nice thick grilled cheese, possibly with a salad, heck even a packaged salad like you get at a truck stop, it was a MAJOR let down! The Gelato was great however. But that's not why we came. And as far as staff is concerned, smiles go a long way. And greeting the people walking in, especially when not another soul is there is the bare minimum. The cheese tasting goes on in the front of this charming, modern log cabin. I personally was not a fan of the cheeses as a whole, but they do have many different types for many different palates. We had succeeded in skipping breakfast. So, by stopping here, tah dah, this became our (free) breakfast! And that would have been great...if it weren't for the ice cream parlor lurking in the back of the building. Rats......foiled....... by ice cream...........again. Yes, ice cream is my Achilles heel. Well, I honestly have several more heels that Achilles would be proud to claim. But this place sets the bar pretty high for really wonderful ice cream. Reed's Dairy is the brand name of the ice cream and is such a vast improvement over the rather ordinary Farr's Ice Cream we have commonly found throughout the state. Reed's is so creamy and the flavors are exceptional without being cloyingly sweet. We succumbed to Mint Cookie and Strawberry Cheesecake after several tastings. An unexpectedly great stop, right in the middle of nowhere on my map (but perhaps for the locals, that would be an insult). You will find this easily, right off the freeway, not that far from adventures in West Yellowstone. I think you should definitely stop! read more

The cheese's I had were a the best I've ever had in all of Idaho. They will let you test every cheese in the store no questions asked and will let you order a cheese sandwich with whichever cheese you liked. A friend of mine had a spicy cheese and he was immediately offered some gelato ice cream to cool himself off. The sorbets and gelato were also super delicious. The manager seemed a little stern but the 2 ladies that made my food were very friendly and welcoming. Such a cool little find! Very fun tasting all their different local cheeses and examining all the imported strange ones. Had grilled cheese sandwiches (which were smaller than expected but dang tasty) and their soup. Skip the soup. It's more like marinara sauce, which was ok to dip your crusty sandwich in, but not to just eat. None of us finished our soup, and it was a small cup. If they'd tune up their soup it would be an easy five stars! They also have gelato, which was a highlight for the kids and grownups alike! Raspberry was amazing, as was the mango and the kiwi. It was our first time to come here today, Sunday, March 9. It was around 1:00pm. Place was busy. We placed our grilled cheese orders around 1:20. About 2:15, we were still waiting for our order. I asked the staff at the grill and told them it's been almost an hour since placing our order and we still haven't had our name called. The shift manager looked at the grill and told me it's our order on the grill. Finally after 15 mins they called our name. Sadly, we were also told that the tomato bisque is running really low. Three of us opted for chips instead but one of us still wants the soup. Well, the soup is more like spaghetti sauce at this time. He didn't end up having it. One of us talked to the shift manager to let him know of our experience. I was hoping he'd be more nice but he was raising his voice and very condescending. He apologized and refunded our money. Truly that's not our concern. One man in our group is a successful GI Specialist and the cost is not the issue. It's how the two staffers attitude that really exacerbated our bad experience to worst. I know they're young kids and perhaps they had a bad day too. But you do not raise your voice to an 84 year old man who raised his concern in a polite way. I was a hotel executive in one of the mega resorts in Las Vegas for 20 years. I know how to accept criticism from a customer and I know you do not raise your voice at them and act combatant. It's too bad, the place was nice and the gelato was good. But we are not going back. read more

Due to a series of unfortunate events I was stranded in Idaho Falls for a day. I did not plan on coming to this city, but I was extremely delighted to be here because of this God sent establishment. After visiting the museum a cheese store across the street caught my eye, thinking I have nothing to loose I decided to go in and explore. To my surprise this spot was a little peek into what heaven would look like. It was like I was a kid again running around looking at all the toys but I was actually running around trying every cheese they offered. After trying about 35 different cheeses I decided to have a $2 grilled cheese sandwich that reminded me of being a child again in a medium income white home, amazing. Since the grilled cheese sandwich was so amazing I decided why not give the $2 gelato a chance and to no disappointment it was extremely delicious gelato. The food 10/10, dessert 10/10 and service was 11/10. I would recommend this place to any one even thinking about Idaho Falls. read more

This is a lovely shop with beautiful flower pots on the steps leading into the store. It has a large selection of cheddar cheeses, I bought Old Faithful and Staver. Delicious.
