I attended an event here over six months ago, so this is a bit of a delayed review. The venue is very beautiful and suitable for all kinds of celebrations. Everything was nicely decorated, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. I can't comment on the planning or coordination since I only attended as a guest. Beautiful place to have a wedding. The venue is modern and clean, and the wait staff were very polite and attentive. My cousin had her wedding reception here and its beautiful inside. The section where she had her reception could hold about 500 people, and then there was another area that probably holds around 200. It was huge. There is also a little private room for the bridal party where we can all chill and relax in if you wanted to take a time out. This is exclusive to the bride and her bridesmaids. It has its own little sitting area and private bathroom. Holds about 7 people. The food was great. It was served to us family style. Mashed potatoes was on point. I wouldn't mind coming here again for a wedding. read more

Christmas cheer delivered consistently. For the past 3-4 years my family has come to Manzo's for an annual Germanic function (not that you'd care, but we're called the Lieblinger Vergnügungsverein). Our banquet room was beautiful and once again tastefully decorated with holiday things, which we've come to expect over the years. The restrooms have been recently remodeled and look spiffy, particularly a new model Dyson airblade hand dryer that absolutely kicked butt. The cash bar is reasonably priced and features a modest selection of libations. The food, by-and-large, is and has been good since we started coming here once every December. A light brothy noodle soup and salad to start, then the main courses served "family style", which is a far more politically correct term than "eat until they have to call the paramedics" (the motto by which Eric S lives). Beef was iffy, gray and nondescript. Chicken was good, though. And terrific mashed 'tatoes. Carrots were a little too al dente for my liking. Waitstaff did a commendable job serving and clearing, providing us with extra potatoes because that ish was awesome. Dessert was rainbow sherbet, which is no great shakes. It'd be nice to see something different once in a while, like cake or a cookie assortment, instead of the same old rainbow pseudo-ice cream every year. Bread = 3.5 Circuses = 4.5 I look forward to returning in December 2016, and would recommend Manzo's to anyone considering banquets, be it for family parties or large company functions. read more

Yesterday I had my daughter's bridal shower for 52 people in the Crown room. Beautiful decor, very good food, excellent service, plenty of parking and an easy to work with coordinator who is dedicated to customer satisfaction, Colleen. To date, I have never been to a wedding here but all three rooms are gorgeous and the bathrooms are modern and clean. I was contemplating between Manzo's and Maggiano's and I am so glad we decided on Manzo's for our shower. read more

My Husband and I celebrated our Wedding Celebration March of 2022. Our experience was phenomenal and know we chose a great venue for such memorable day. We also hosted our wedding ceremony which makes this place extra special.The venue is beautiful inside & out, Food was DELICIOUS, and the entire staff did an amazing job. Krystyna & Colleen did a great job assisting with any questions and where super helpful through our entire process. We TRULY had amazing night! I am so impressed and grateful with Manzo's! I had my bridal shower here and everyone was so helpful with setting up and making sure I had everything I needed. I had my shower in the gala room and it was decorated beautifully. I had a guest who was unable to to eat the chicken parm dish bc she is gluten intolerant, but the venue quickly arranged a grilled chicken dish. I was so impressed with how quickly they acted and with how easily they were able to accommodate her. I absolutely recommend this beautiful venue! read more

The owners Joe and Maria are incredible people...when they throw a party...it is like they are throwing a party for there family. The quality and quantity of food will keep every single one of your guests happy and satisfied. They also have a restaurant there too...there original restaurant use to be in Chicago located on Irving Park Road...before selling it and moving out to the suburbs. And how do I know all of this...well I have been eating here since I was probably 10 years old...that is a long time...if you are looking for some good authentic Italian food I highly recommend you stop by. read more

We held our wedding at Manzo's Banquets, both the ceremony and reception. The entire process leading up the wedding and the actual event itself were pretty close to perfect. The good: I was able to get very quick responses to the (many) questions I asked prior to the wedding, and they worked with us to make sure every detail was perfect. The employees on the day of were on top of any problems that arose with us, and were always available to answer questions or help us out (like when we couldn't find the microphone or when the lights were too bright). The food was AMAZING. It's been three weeks and people are still commenting on the food. Specifically, the french onion soup (which I am usually picky about), almond pork chops, and vesuvio chicken were so tasty. Also, they accommodated our vegetarians with no problems at all, even though we had a family style meal. The bad: While this is not necessarily Manzo's fault, I would have appreciated them helping out a bit more with managing the group that was next door to us. They had a live band that was extremely loud, to the point where our (loud) music was relatively drowned out. They had a large group with many children, who ran around the common hallways all night. I was just about knocked over any time I went to the bathroom. One of my guests was thrown up on by a clearly drunk teenager in the bathroom (I did not know about this until the next day or I would have alerted staff to this one especially, I am not sure if they did or not). It was really the only downside of the entire night but it did cause some issues. read more

I had my wedding shower here last year and I was floored when I walked in for the event. I think the room we were in was called the Crystal Room and it was very elegant and spacious. There were about 80 people in attendance, and it could have easily fit another 80 in the space. The service was great and food, from what I can remember was really good! I remember having so much food leftover on my plate that I needed a to-go box. A lot of other people also wound up taking their leftovers home. A lot of credit has to go to my bridesmaids who helped plan, prepare and decorated for the event. It made Manzo's look all the better to me. I believe that at the time, the cost came to about $12/person pre-tax and this included: salad, entree, sides, and dessert. Not bad considering that my MOH was quoted $10-11/person and some other Chinese food buffets. This is a great place to hold a baby shower, wedding shower and even a wedding! read more

The absolute best place to have your wedding reception. Although, my wedding was awhile back, I want to express my thoughts on how wonderful Manzo's was to deal with. Honestly, for us the food was the most important part. We always said people remember the food! To this day, people still talk about our wedding and how spectacular the food was. Our menu included Appetizer buffet, individual Antipasto plates, soup, salad, pasta, filet mignon and shrimp scampi, our cake and ice cream for dessert and a incredible sweet table with ice sculptures etc. Everything was excellent and delicious. I have been to many weddings at fancy hotels, etc, I have never had food as good or as HOT(temperature) as Manzo's. The space is beautiful and the staff is amazing! Manzos I attend at least 2 catered functions per year at Manzo's. While the food is generally good and the staff is friendly, I do have a couple of complaints. 1. SAFETY On one occasion a friend of mine tripped on the rug inside of the entrance. While she was not seriously injured, she did fall and it was because of the restaurant's rug. When I brought the issue to the attention of the manager, she showed zero concern and the rug is still inside of the restaurant. This rug is a lawsuit waiting to happen... 2. FOOD QUALITY Manzo's seriously needs to step up their dessert selection. I've been told by the same employee that all of their food is catered for our private events. Nonetheless, something needs to be done about their dessert options. For some reason they insist on serving the saddest crystallized version of vanilla "ice cream" with watered down chocolate syrup at every function. It's gross and we deserve better. read more

Me and my husband had our engagement party here January of 2016 and couldn't have been more pleased! We had about 120 people and had the hall right in front when you walk in. We worked with Brianna and she made everything work well. I still have people raving about the food here. The appetizers to the main dishes to the sides... everything was delicious! They were An easy business to communicate with and made things go smoothly. Also they had the most extensive tasting I've seen anywhere. I'll give 5 star! One of the managers here Lauren are very friendly and very helpful. They help me a lot on my daughter's 7th bdAy the place is very elegant and classy & clean. And they make sure I had everything I needed. The food was so tasty from chicken champagne, medley vegetables, the beef and etc. The open bar was so great for the guests they enjoyed it so much. I am extremely disappointed in the way Manzo's has handled refunding their clientele for events that couldn't take place during the pandemic. My son was supposed to have his wedding here in May 2020. When everything was shut down by the governor and it was clear they would not be able to have their wedding, my son requested a refund of his deposit. He was told that was not possible but that he could reschedule the event. The issue with this was that he and his new bride were moving out of state in June 2020, which he specifically TOLD the General Manager, Krystyna. Manzo's did not care about his circumstances and told him he had to choose a new date or forfeit his deposit. He rescheduled the date, hoping that it would buy him some time to try to work things out with Manzo's. It's not like they CHOSE to cancel their wedding! The pandemic chose FOR them. My son has tried calling Manzo's on three different occasions over the last year to discuss the matter, without a return call. Samantha from Manzo's is claiming they never got the messages. However, my son has DOCUMENTATION from his cell phone provider that these calls were made and lasted long enough for him to either speak with someone or leave a voicemail. Fast forward to today where Manzo's decided to spend $7 on sending a certified letter to MY home (not my son's address as he and his bride have lived in Tennessee for nearly a year now). It's a shame because we live very close to Manzo's and it would have been so convenient to schedule upcoming events here as more weddings and showers are on the horizon in our family. If only Manzo's cared more about their customers needs during a global pandemic than they do about keeping our $500 deposit. It wasn't enough that my son and daughter-in-law had to cancel their dream wedding. This was also a going-away event for them as they were moving away just 4 weeks later. They didn't just have to cancel a party. Like with any wedding, this was a big deal to them and to have to be told it was cancelled was devastating. Instead of being sympathetic toward this couple for what they were going through, Manzo's only cared about getting a new date in the books so they could maximize their profit. This whole experience with Manzo's has permanently tarnished their reputation for me. It's not like they were refunding everyone. Many people did reschedule. They had a choice to make an exception for circumstances that went beyond the norm here, but they refused. I truly hope the $500 was worth it to them because they will NOT be getting our business in the future and we will be sure to warn our friends and family to avoid them at all costs. They don't deserve the business when all they care about is their bottom line. For future reference Manzo's, a little compassion and understanding toward your clients goes a long way. read more

This year was my parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary and we decided to have a luncheon to celebrate. Originally from Des Plaines, I live in Pasadena, CA. We selected Manzo's because of convenience to our family and other Yelp reviews. I'm extremely happy that we did. Planning from CA was seamless and Krystyna, one of the managers made it extremely easy to do business with. Upfront and detailed, I knew what to expect in terms of pricing, decorations, and food. All details were addressed and I had all the confidence that the hall would be perfect. Family and guests were equally pleased and 'wowed' with the venue. It was beautifully decorated and all associates were kind, friendly, and accommodating. The food was delicious and portion sizes were spot on. This was my first visit to Manzo's. I attended a wedding that had 400+ guests invited, filling their entire Embassy Room in the banquet hall. Going to a grand event like this made me think that this would really put the stress on any place and really challenge them at what they do. The overall experience was excellent from the moment we arrived. Complimentary valet parking for wedding guests came in handy as it just began to rain. We were ushered into the hallway leading to the banquet room, safe and dry. Nicely decorated walls and curtains in the windows make the whole place look old-fashioned classy. The Embassy Room itself has lots of well-polished mirrored walls and columns, minus the tacky, aging chandeliers you see at many of these kinds of places. The floral centerpieces at each table looked so perfect that they seemed real at first. And then the food. Their bread was great and they left out the butter to soften, so it was more spreadable. The cream of chicken & rice soup was perhaps the creamiest I ever had anywhere. I could have downed a 2nd bowl of it. For the main course, their twice baked potato and steak were also perfect. The steak's crisped and darkened edges were just the way I like them. Their selection of wines was great too. I enjoyed La Terra white zinfandel, and I kept refilling in my glass all night despite the fact I almost never drink alcohol. This stuff was so tasty and went so well with the food on the table. OK, so their lemon chicken breast broke up on my fork and got glued to my teeth when I tasted it. However, I won't let that ruin an otherwise wonderful experience at this place and the attentive service at our table despite being in the corner of the room. When it was time to leave, the valet found my car and brought it back in a minute! Definitely a great place for banquets and a tempting option if I ever want to go out for a fancy dinner with my wife. read more

Yummy! Is this place for real? I've been wanting to eat here for a while now but just havent gotten around to it. So Saturday me and my boyfriend went here. I thought it was just going to be some hole in wall so we wore sweatshirts, jeans, & tennis shoes. However, I felt completely underdressed when I walked in. The restaurant's atmosphere was very romantic and warm. The lights were dim. I felt so stupid. But no one looked at us wierd but instead treated us very kindly. We sat in the bar where there was a piano player which made the mood very relaxing and once again romantic. I felt like we were in Little Italy - but in Mount Prospect?? The service was great - my drink was made perfectly - and the waiter was very efficient. He didnt try to personalize his conversation with us but it was ok b/c he was still very good and quick. Our dinner's came with soup (Lobster Bisque- YUM!) Salad, Bread&breadsticks, & Brushetta. I was almost full before my meal came! I ordered Stuffed Baked Shells that were out of this world yummy. The Shrimp de Jonge was very good too. The owner, a very authentic Italian man w/ a thick accent, came to the table to welcome us. He could tell we were new to the restaurant. I was so pleased with everything here. The prices were within reason and I was stuffed when I left. We had leftovers to bring home bc there was so much food! My grandma's memorial service luncheon was held here. I'm not sure how prepared they were for a memorial service, as the wedding archway was still in the hallway when we arrived. The food was great, the waiter service was on point. Any ridiculous request we hit them with (and believe me, there were a few ridiculous and inappropriate requests made that day), they did their best to comply with. It was a good amount of time between each course. We had the space for 3 hours, and the 3 hours came and went with plenty of time to catch up with family and look at photos and relax. Nothing felt rushed, except for when the time came to clear the plates. My glass of wine and coffee (delicious combination, I'm sure) disappeared. I should have held on to them as I moseyed about chatting with people. They had an other event to get ready for, so I suppose that's the reason for their haste in cleaning up. It was where my grandma and grandpa got married, so it makes sense that he wanted to hold the luncheon other (even though it was his second choice). It adds another layer to the meaning of the restaurant, too. I wonder if they had the same meal the day they got married. :P read more

Hands down the best wedding venue. My wife and I planned a reception at Manzo's from Dallas, Texas. Lauren made the planning process extremely easy and smooth. Her communication was above and beyond what we could have expected. Their packages and what was included really sets them apart from the others. They have a few different packages, I believe 3-4 room options, an abundance of food choices, open bar, located right off of the highway, several hotel options nearby, 10 mins from the airport, oh and did I mention the communication. I was in charge of organizing a banquet for our organization. After reading a number of reviews, I decided to give Manzo's a try. We had our banquet on September 9th of this year. The experience could not have been more pleasant. I received nothing but compliments from the members of our group and not one single complaint about anything. From soup to desert, the food was excellent. The servers were polite, attentive, and very efficient. The venue is very, very nice. The most important thing, though, is how I was treated. There was never a "no, we can't do that". My requests were always answered with " yes, sure we can do that " or " of course we can ".Everyone was friendly and helpful. Peter, in particular, helped me every step of the way, from table arrangements to suggestions on our menu choice. Gold Star customer service. We used Manzo's Banquets for our wedding reception on 9/24/21. Our experience with Manzo's throughout the entire process was absolutely amazing. We toured and booked in December 2020- throughout the 10 months we exchanged many emails. The staff at Manzo's always had very timely and detailed replies for our many requests and questions! They truly help you through every detail- it is a very calming feeling! The event itself went off without a hitch- everyone had a great time and we received so many compliments about the food and the service. I highly recommend going to the food tasting- but everyone raved about our menu which included- chicken noodle soup, caesar salad, lemon chicken, London broil with mushroom gravy, garlic mashed potatoes with the red skin, vodka pasta, & vegetable medley- all of which were delicious! Huge shout out to some specific staff members- Krystyna & Colleen for being our points of contact during the planning process and Colleen for overseeing that everything went smoothly the night of. Yikes - I feel bad after reading rave reviews on this place...so maybe it was just an off day. I was there for a wedding reception and I was not impressed. I felt like i was walking into a funeral home from the early 90's instead of a wedding banquet hall. The centerpieces were horrid - I get that banquet halls have their own stuff and it's part of a package, but at least get fake flower stems that have flowers on them. The food was disgusting. It was served family style - not always the easiest when you have a full table and no table room. The chicken and beef were nasty. Bread was hard as a rock. Pasta was fine for pasta and a bit of sauce. Best part was the lettuce salad - but that's hard to mess up. Another reception was going on next door. At first you could hear the music from the other reception, and then the DJ turned the music up so you couldn't hear them.....but that also meant you couldn't really hear anyone at your table. I will say that the service was good and the people were nice, thank goodness! If you're looking for a wedding reception place, I think you can do better. Maybe you can't per your budget (I have no idea what they charge per plate), but if I was a bride, I'd keep looking. read more

On March 30, 2019, my husband and I booked Manzo's Banquets to have our wedding reception at. Our wedding reception was supposed to have happened on April 4, 2020. We were slated to have 250+ people at our wedding. By early March, we paid additional money in deposits. On March 14, 2020, we agreed to switch the date of our wedding to October 17, 2020 given the COVID pandemic. Manzo's informed us that we would have to pay additional money to move the date to October which we did. The following months, we monitored the situation surrounding the COVID pandemic when we learned in early July of Governor Pritzker's order restricting weddings to only 50 people or less. Around July 7, 2020, we called Manzo's to determine what our options were given the restrictions on wedding sizes. We were told our only options were that we move the wedding to a later date in 2021 or move forward with a 50-person wedding. We were opposed to moving our wedding date back any further so we decided on moving forward with a 50-person wedding. Manzo's refused our refund and stated in order for us to have a 50-person wedding, we would need to pay the full amount for 250 people. After this conversation, we reviewed the agreement we signed. It is clear that nothing in the agreement we signed requires us to pay for 250 people when we are only allowed 50 people. Given Gov Governor Pritzker's orders It has become clear from our dealings with Manzo's that they have no intention of refunding our money and have acted in bad faith since Governor Pritzker's orders came into effect. On August 28, 2020, we sent a final letter to Manzo's demanding a refund of our deposit. Given Manzo's unwillingness to be reasonable, we have filed a lawsuit against Manzo's. Save yourself the headache! Do not book with this place. Given everything that is going on Manzo's have been insensitive & very inconsiderate! They are money hungry and they do no not care about their clients. This has truly been the worst experience my husband and I have ever had with a banquet hall. read more

My family tends to have large parties at Manzo's because we always have a great experience there. Whether it's a bridal shower, baby shower, baby's 1st birthday party, reunion, or anything else, I have never had a bad time at Manzo's. The food is superb. If you're going to spend money on a banquet, you want your guests to enjoy what they're eating. We usually end up with the vodka pasta (which is amazing) and the lemon chicken (also amazing). The courses are big and usually by the time you get to the main dish you're full, but they give you take-out boxes. The staff are always very professional. There is no request too odd or different for the servers (I have asked for dishes to be nut-free due to an allergy and it has never been a problem). The owner is a sweetheart who personally makes sure you and your guests have everything you need. He really treats you like you are family. The rooms are beautiful and spacious for most events. The bathrooms are nice and the premises in general are kept quite clean. They clearly take care of the place. My baby shower last year was a typical, wonderful experience. I would wholeheartedly recommend Manzo's for any special occasion. read more

I just want to say that booking Manzos for our wedding was the best decision! They were the easiest vendor to work with and their customer service and communication with us was above and beyond!
