    Avanti Classico, great sandwich.
    Dick K.

Had the Avanti Classico Italian Sub, Mortadell, salami and gabbagool. Best around. They have classic pasta dishes but I prefer sandwiches here. Had the pasta salad on the side. Nice little place. Near the house, a family tradition.

Whenever I am melting snow for the duration of the storm at O'Hare Airport, we always require lunch, supper or breakfast. The most popular place is Avanti Cafe. We love the sandwiches. They are delivered fresh and fast. Local 150 and Aero thank Avanti for the 2026 Snow Season. Best service. Beautiful restaurant. Carry on.

    Party sub [Italian]

The ambiance of the eat in space was okay. I enjoyed looking at the relics on the wall, but I am not a fan of eating in restaurants with gambling in them. Note: I spent time in the eat in space, but I did my family's order to go. My daughter wanted to try the 3' party sub for kicks and giggles so why not? when it's too hot to use the oven and you're tired from a long week of work. I ordered the party sub Wednesday for a Friday pick up because it was off the catering menu. We went with the Avanti recommended Italian sub. The guy in charge, manager perhaps, packed up a tub of Italian dressing on the side and had a young man help me carry the sub to the car even though I could have handled the sandwich, haha. The sandwich came precut and served 4 adults and 1 teenager in addition to fruit and salad offered at home. There were 2 pieces left and my daughter ate them all within 24 hours. We also have catering experience with Avanti from marching band--pasta, beef, salad, etc. That is what lead us to trying the sub at home! We will probably order more things and I will be using them for a 2nd season in a row for marching band!

Such an underrated cafe!! The menu is great and the quality of the food for the price is unmatched. They also have great coffee! Tried the spinach arancini and caramel latte!! Will definitely be coming back to try the pizza and tiramisu!! The workers are super friendly and patient!! It's a casual sit down place and a great place to grab a meal with friends or coworkers.

Stopped by with my boyfriend for a quick lunch. Ordered the Caprese tostino and it was ready fairly quickly. We enjoyed it on their outside patio. The sandwich was fresh and I loved the environment. It was lively inside with lots of people coming and going. I will have to return to try some more of their menu. The staff was really kind as well!

07/16/24 - It's always good to find somewhere new. I went to Discount Tire in Mt Prospect to get new tires for my wife's car. Then I went back & got my tires rotated. Afterwards I was looking for somewhere to eat in the area. Avantis is located in Mt Prospect on Elmhurst. I walked into a nice spacious dining area. They have a large & varied selection of pastas, sandwiches, & gelatos. I was a bit overwhelmed by the options available. The girl at the register suggested a panini sandwich. I ordered a smoked Turkey panini w/swiss cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo & mustard. The Panini sandwich was very good Avanti also does catering & the gentleman at the front counter mentioned that he had been coming to Avanti for many years and had used them on many occasions. Like I said they had a large selection & the next time I'm out in the area I would definitely come back & try some their other menu options.

Decided to cater this time, they seem to be the only Italian place that caters and is open on Monday's. I really needed a Monday. They were prompt, the food was delicious, everyone loved everything! Thank you so much!

    Seafood salad

Pasta and cold salads are always delicious here along with many other options I have had here. I've never really had anything that I did not like. The picture I posted is the seafood salad. The service at the register was good as well and has a cozy feeling in seating area. They have gaming inside now as well if you're into that.

    Tostinos and coffee

Stopped in randomly on an errand and am so glad I did! Yummy paninis (called Tostinos) and the coffees were great! As someone new to the area, loved the local vibe and great customer service!

So it was off our list for a while. We've now started eating at the bar, which gets us away from much of the noise, and the food and service are still excellent. Today two of us came for lunch; our server Clarissa was very attentive to my guest's need for a gluten-free meal, and also cheerfully got the pounding music turned down so we could hear each other talk. If only there was a way to address the noise issue overall, I would be happy to give this place five stars...!

It seemed like they had it made due to beating their top selling plate. The chicken had a rubbery feeling, for sure did not meet the hype. We ordered it and it was served very fast. In the other hand, their "Pesto Cavatappi" was served warmed and you could tell it was just made. The chicken on this dish tasted very good and the texture was very different from the Chicken Parm. I would recommend this dish instead of their number one as it was told to us by the server. We ordered two cappuccinos and their Flourless Chocolate Cake. Both cappuccinos were very milky and not warm enough. The dessert was really good but it also took a while to get it. We were half way done with our cappuccinos. Price - I feel they are priced too high for a chicken dish and pasta. Although it is a good portion it is still chicken and pasta. It was $31 for the chicken parm and $26 for the Cavatappi. The dessert was $12 It was a busy day but they should still keep their standards and serve food with the right temperature. I will give it another change for sure.

First off, this place is authentic, tiny, old school..... family and friends working hard in this joint. Came in here on Valentine's Day and it was packed! So happy we were able to get in last minute. You could see people were just happy to be here. They don't make dining like this anymore folks- truly a gem. The bread - airy, light and perfect crisp. The salad with garlic sauce- crisp, perfect temp and amazing sauce. Chicken vesuvio with side of pasta- phenomenal. Chicken ortalano- with side of stuffed gnocchi and vodka sauce - literally heaven in your mouth. Cannoli - best I've ever had in this state - lemon ice gelato - forget about it ...... this was a meal to remember. The service - top notch! Not too long not too short and perfect environment to watch everyone smile and enjoy their meals. You guys are phenomenal!!!! Thank you for the amazing experience and meal! We will be back!

The fettuccine with Alfredo and chicken (both at a surcharge) was a hit with the kids, though the chicken was a bit too charred for my taste. The ambiance was cozy and homey, with a charming, family-run feel that we really appreciated. Service was fantastic. While the food has room for improvement, we're willing to give it another try - there's something special about the warm, welcoming vibe.

We were able to snag a back table so not loud and we can hear the whole table. We started with the Hearts of Palm salad to share. It was perfect to share with three people as a starter and we all loved the lemon vinaigrette. For entrees - I got the thin crust Garden Pizza special - artichokes, pesto, pine nuts, other veggies. I thought it was delicious and it reheated very nicely the next day. Others at the table - got the salmon, sausage pizza and spicy vodka pasta. Everyone enjoyed. Our server (AJ) was fabulous and joked with the table - he made the experience enjoyable as well as the atmosphere of the restaurant. The hostess appeared wearing a blue-and-white striped sweater hanging off one shoulder like she'd stepped out of an Italian perfume commercial. Around her neck was one of those little cornicello pepper necklaces, dangling just enough to suggest fate had finally decided to throw me a bone. Blue eyes. Not "blue." The kind of blue sailors used to abandon families over. She laughed at one of my jokes. That was all the encouragement my diseased brain required. I immediately conducted a full tactical assessment of the restaurant. The P.O.A. Index... ...was approaching DEFCON 1. Every direction I looked was another devastatingly attractive waitress carrying Aperol Spritzes with effortless confidence. It was like wandering into a government-funded supermodel relocation program. Then... A shadow fell across the table. A man. Our waiter was a man. Christ Almighty. The emotional whiplash nearly snapped my neck. It's like going to the zoo hoping to see lions and discovering the enclosure has been replaced with an accountant named Kevin. There are beautiful women everywhere, and somehow I'm discussing pasta recommendations with a guy who probably knows three different olive oils by taste. Cruel. Absolutely cruel. To his credit, the b@5tard was outstanding. Friendly. Fast. Knew the menu inside and out. Kept the drinks full. Never interrupted. The s.o.b. gave me absolutely nothing to complain about, which only deepened my resentment. The food, meanwhile, was infuriatingly good. The pizzas arrived looking like they'd been blessed by an Italian grandmother carrying unresolved anger from 1947. Thin crust. Fresh mozzarella. Just enough char to remind you that ovens are supposed to flirt with fire, not electricity. The pasta had that unmistakable handmade texture that makes Olive Garden feel like a felony. The cocktails disappeared with alarming speed. By my third Negroni, I was convinced I could hear Dean Martin narrating my life. Walking out, I glanced back toward the hostess one last time. She smiled. For approximately three seconds I considered abandoning my entire life to become a part-time sommelier with absolutely no qualifications. Then reality returned. The male waiter handed me the check. Four stars. The food was phenomenal. The cocktails were dangerous. The hostess should be classified as an Italian national treasure. And our waiter deserves a raise... despite committing the unforgivable crime of existing between me and the waitresses.
