Rolled into Shawnee on our way through at 7:40 PM on Christmas Eve. Maple Garden was one of two places we found to be open after making many calls. They were busy, with call ins and door dash orders flying out the door and dine in customers as well. The staff was very friendly, the food was good and plentiful. The dining area was clean outside of tables from the dinner rush needing to be wiped down. (Again they were BUSY) Table was promptly wiped down for us. The restrooms were clean. We had the Kung Pao Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and Sesame Chicken. All three were good. 10/10 would eat here again!!! read more

I really wanted to like this restaurant. We tried dune in the service is nice but obviously we're not used to this type of Chinese food. Take out wasn't better. I am Bot saying Anything bad it's just not the style I'm used to. The place is very clean there's parking lot and prices are very reasonable. read more

We still absolutely love Maple Garden! This is fast, easy on the budget, filling Chinese food! We always order ahead for takeout and our orders are always hot, ready, and complete. We have enjoyed all the items we have ordered including Hawaiian chicken, beef broccoli, sweet and sour pork, and egg drop soup to name a few favorites. While most are the typical Chinese food fair, you can tell they make it fresh and do not leave it sitting around waiting! Very friendly family who is always kind and attentive. read more

Maple Gardens is a good restaurant. It's authentic Chinese food. The food was hot. The price was average and the staff was very courteous. I really enjoy going there. Their shrimp fried rice is the best and so are the eggrolls. Keep up the good work. Maple Gardens you are knocking it out of the ballpark. I'll be back again. read more

Here is a great little Chinese-American spot that I wish were nearer to me in OKC. Mind you, it's not authentic Chinese but I enjoy this style as well. Flavors are great, food hot and cooked to order, portions are large, and they have very fair prices. Crab rangoon are made fresh. A plate of sugar biscuits is a must have (just like the buffets!). Walnut shrimp is excellent, at least to me since I'm big on the sauce, and their's is sugar sweet perfection. Shrimp look huge, and while they are bigger, they are also heavy on the breading. Breading not one bit greasy or falling off, texture a little grainy but not too bad. Sesame chicken is also super good, sauce delicious, less breaded than I'm used to but more tender. I enjoy the warm, old school atmosphere here, complete with contemporary Chinese music (I'm guessing) playing overhead. Workers here are very friendly and helpful. They are very proud of their restaurant. Dining room is clean, and so is the women's restroom. Yet the locals only seem to do takeout here. So they place the chairs up early at night, which makes them look closed. Since moving to OKC, I miss old dine-in Chinese places like this. When in Shawnee, I'm definitely heading here again. read more

Service was ok. Food not good at all. My suggestion would be to use dark meat for sweet and sour chicken since it won't be nearly as dry. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place if you are looking for decent Americanized Chinese food. There is bound to be a better place for it around here somewhere. read more

Had dinner from this place last night, pretty good Chinese I had the general chicken with brown rice. Rice was good chicken was okay it had a fishy taste to it though and that was kinda nasty. But in all I guess it wasn't to bad. I'd probably go back but I'd order the peppered chicken instead. read more

As far as taste is objective and a matter of personal preference I can overlook the fact that I think Malle Garden is probably the worst Chinese place in Shawnee when it comes to food quality and taste. However I can't overlook a Chinese restaurant forgetting the rice for my takeout order. I have tried Maple Garden twice since I have lived here. The first time I got food poisoning and the second they forgot two orders of rice. I will not be back. read more

Came thru Shawnee from OKC, was looking for the local good spots. Read reviews on this place, gave it a shot.. got there right before closing, guy owner was kool, and ordered the quart of chicken lo-mein. Was just under 5 bucks to-go and it was a solid amount of noodles. I'd say it wasn't the BEST ever but yeah was pretty good. Would say 6 out of 10.... seems like a fast, cheap Chinese place, but if that's what your into, then hit up maple..! read more

Although the outside of this nondescript strip mall Chinese restaurant is unappealing, the food therein is some of the best available in Shawnee. Notwithstanding the fact that they have not only misspelled "restaurant" on both their signs, advertising and menus, you can't go wrong with the standard "Chinese" fare here of General Tsao's Chicken, Beef & Broccoli and a host of other "Chinese" food staples. The place is extremely clean, the owners overwhelmingly nice and while there are tables and chairs this is best reserved for those nights when you need some decent "Chinese" takeout and is a clear winner over the abysmal "Chinese" buffets that are a blight on Shawnee and everywhere else for that matter. read more

The first that greeted me as I walked toward the door was a tall lanky woman sitting on a ledge puffing on a cigarette within 2 feet of the door. Had to walk thru a cloud of cigarette smoke which didn't do wonders for my appetite. I might add that the state law is that no one can smoke within 50 feet of a business entryway. Went in placed my order and that same woman brought me my food still smelling like an ashtray. To make matters worse she had and always has had an extremely bad attitude. The food was ok but by then the whole experience was ruined by this smelly waitress with a bad attitude. read more

I really like this little hole in the wall. The owners are friendly. The food is always freshly prepared. The portions are generous. They'll even make it spicy hot for those of us who are pepper-heads. I like the chicken with garlic sauce and Hunan chicken combinations. Stopped at Maple Garden for lunch. In the past, the food was pretty good. Today was a huge disappointment. I got the chicken lo mein lunch combination. The lo mein had very little near or veggies in it, compared to the past. The noodles were also very overcooked, to the point of being pasty. Overall, the meal looked unappealing and had no flavor. I think the cook forgot to add seasoning to the dish. My son ordered the jumbo shrimp with lobster sauce and a crab rangoon. The shrimp dish was 4 shrimp in a bowl full of sauce. It looked like a brothy soup instead of the shrimp with a lobster dipping sauce. The crab rangoon (fried dumpling) had no crab in it and tasted like it was filled with cottage cheese. It is so sad to see the quality standards of this place go down so far. read more
