Great service! And the food was not bad. The miso soup was good, but it's hard to mess up broth. The real downer was the bland lo mein and the not so spicy "extra spicy" Kung pao. All the fried foods were on part though! They are generous in their portions and have a very warm, welcoming staff. read more

I've been to all of the Chinese restaurants in Shawnee & Phoenix Asian Diner is by far the best for Chinese food in Shawnee. My sister & I like to visit during the lunch time when they have their Daily Lunch Specials everyday from 11-3 during the week. You have a variety of meals to choose from & the meal includes an egg roll, crab rangoon, steamed or fried rice (I recommend the fried rice) & choice of soup (we like the egg drop soup). My sister always gets the pepper steak which she says is Really Good. I've had the Sesame Chicken & the Sweet & Sour Chicken. The meal also comes with a fortune cookie that doesn't have some strange saying on it. The food we have eaten here is always hot & fresh. I know they also have Sushi but I don't eat sushi. They also have a variety of Kid's Meals available. We have been coming to this location for years & always look forward to eating here when we are in Shawnee. read more

This restaurant was very disappointing! Not sure how it has 4.5 starts?! Everything I had was over cooked, not fresh and none of the dishes had any vegetables! We came at lunch time and the wait wasn't too long. I ordered the cooked salmon roll (which takes 15 min), orange chicken lunch special with white rice and hot and sour soup. The sesame chicken lunch special with fried rice and miso soup. We also ordered a side of chicken lo mein. The fried rice was literally white rice with soy sauce doused over it. So it just looked like black rice. There was no egg or veggies in the rice at all!!! The lo mein was just noodles and sad pieces of chicken, also no vegetables. The sushi roll looked sad and not fresh. Looked like it was pre made days ago and that cooked salmon was just put on top. The orange chicken and sesame chicken had so much sauce on it. It seemed like they just put battered chicken on a place and poured pre made sauce from the grocery store on it. The miso soup tasted like hose water. If I could give no stars I would. The food came fast, but that's clearly because it was either pre made or because they don't add any ingredients that Chinese food has which is meat with a lot of veggies! I called to order my food and want general tso chicken with plain fried rice no egg. The lady proceeded to tell me it comes with egg in it it's just a little bit is that ok. I responded no I'm allergic to eggs so I can't do that or willing to risk my health behind it and she then hung up in my face after trying to convince me to order it, I told her no twice already and said I'll try something else another day. Run of the mill asian food, not bad, unfortunately, nothing to write home about. It could be better, it could be more affordable.

There is plenty of parking but you should park on the left side of the building or the entry is difficult to get to. The parking lot is overgrown with weeds and there was a lot of trash. The building is somewhat shabby & dilapidated - at first I thought it was closed down and almost didn't go in! Good steam rice. (I'm referring to a person.) The food is excellent, too. They make many varieties of Asian food well. You can get Udon noodles, any Chinese favorites, Thai spicy stuff, etc. Oh, and their sushi folks make excellent rolls and whatnots for good everyday dinner prices. I have been going to phoenix for about 3 years . I have never had anything but good service and food. Well today they dropped the ball I went in after the lunch rush seated promptly. I was setting there they seated 3 more tables. Two parties with 3 and a single. They waited on the first party of 3 got their drinks and something on a couple of plates. Food was excellent. Very authentic. Portion sizes are great. We had lunch menu items and had enough for a second meal. The kids meals are big enough for kids to share. The only reason they're not getting 5 stars is because of the way they have you order. We ordered at the window (we were visiting from out of town) and they asked for our phone number to call us when it was ready. We pulled into the parking lot and parked. We waited for 30 minutes and then called them to ask what was going on. They claimed to have tried calling us 20 minutes before. They could see our vehicle from the window. Yeah, I read the reviews and thought this place might be pretty good. Not! I only had the sushi so I can't speak to the Chinese portion of the menu. But the sushi was weird and tasteless. Worth stopping or going off interstate for. Drove through here during the big COVID lockdown. The place looks ok but nothing showy when driving by. We did not see the eating area as it was closed but picked up our ordered ahead food at their drive through. We ordered a chicken chow mein and chicken kung pao both off the lunch special menu. We chose the hot sour soup and the egg drop soup. Realize we then drove and ate this. Their food was a lot of value for the money. We started with the crab ragoons. Nothing real high or low. actual chunks of crab, cooked well. No dish was too hot or too cold. Flavor on this was minimal but that is the dish, you taste the dip. We tried the egg roll, pretty good. I could not tell if either of the apps were homemade or store. We then did the soup. Thankful we started with the egg drop soup. Not terrible but not great, only salt flavor so kind of bland. but again, about what I would expect for that soup. The hot and spicy soup was next, glad we did that order of eating them. That soup had a balanced higher amount of spice. Honestly, it seemed like egg drop soup with spices added. Then we pulled out the main dishes. They were nice portions of food. The kung pao chicken had good flavor. It appeared homemade. The only issue here was the pieces were too big to reasonably scoop a bite with rice and get both the item and rice in a bite. Good dish. The chicken chow mein was awesomely served with homemade crisps. Nice touch. Again, the solids of the dish were too big to reasonably scoop a bite up. That dish was pretty bland, we added soy and other dip packets to help it a bit. Worth a stop. good value for the money. read more

I love little mom and pop restaurants so it pains me to be honest but if I could give it a 0 I would. I don't even eat meat and I would never return as I immediately got sick off this food. Stomach pains! We ordered meatless dishes the mixed vegetables, udon with veggies, and veggie fried rice. Let's just say they use canned and not fresh vegetables and the fried rice had no veggies in it at all. The food is bland and has no appetizing smell or taste. I have been a loyal customer since this place opened. I have been a fan and champion the entire time. I have bragged, and referred people to eat here. There have been little hiccups here & there over the years, no biggy. Tonight was not little or just a hiccup. I ordered online, confirmed my order as I have many times prior. I waited until my order should of been ready before I left the house (30° weather mind you). When I arrived to pay for and pick up my family's dinner I was told that they didn't have my order. I was asked if I was "sure" I ordered. I pulled up the confirmation email & the girl wrote it down & took it back. Another 20 minutes and my order finally came out. I asked how the online ordering system works, and she said it goes to a phone line, is wrote down & then given to the kitchen. So I asked if maybe the call was missed, and she told me that it had to of been answered because they had a bunch of other online orders. There was no apologies, there were no remorse or concern even hinted at. The girl acted ask as if, -oh well no big deal you're order was missed. Way to go, you probably should of made an attempt at making it at least look like it mattered that my order contributes to your paycheck, or even that my time has any value what so ever. So, now, here we are, I'm re-reviewing this restaurant, and not in a good way. What happened to Brian? He was good with people & on his job duties! read more

Food was delicious. Price couldn't be beat. Portions were generous. Standard Chinese menu choices. Atmosphere was ok. You can't eat the atmosphere. See 'food was delicious' comment. Brian (or however he spells it) was outstanding in providing service. No reasonable request was denied. He always did as asked and more. Across the street from a park, so you can get it to go and enjoy it there. Dining tables are not really set up for privacy. Expect to sit in a main traffic path or someone at the table will. We were able to get into a little mini room and it was perfect for the two of us. What would have made it 5 star? I guess they will have to serve gelato or italian pastry for that. read more

I went for lunch and ordered the crispy roll and general tso's and it was well prepared, fresh, and a massive portion. I eat Chinese and sushi regularly and this place rivals some of my favorites. I'll def try the raw bar next time. The only things I wish they would change is 1. Location, 2. Maybe some non-Italian decor? This is an Asian place right? And 3. Again, location. This review is based solely on takeout meals FYI. The sushi is decent, nothing special, but probably the best you'll get in a town the size of Shawnee. Their lo mein is what really shines. The outrageous (in a good way!) portion is enough for three meals, and believe me, you'll want to eat it at least three days in a row, it's that sumptuous. As I said, I've never dined in, but they've always gotten my to go order correct, and the staff seems to be super friendly and helpful. read more
